Intense Emotions

Sylvia:

The tears were still in my eyes, not from the pain but from the honor they had all given me. They bowed to me, for doing something as common decency as helping when I could. This pack had some good people in it, and they deserve to get help when it is needed. "How are you feeling?" Sinlan asked and I realized I was walking a bit slow. The pain was radiating through my torso, mimicking the wounds I had healed. Even my breathing was shallow.

"I'm okay." I tried to keep my voice even. I knew the consequences when I did the energy work. This pain would fade soon enough and another warm bath would let the soreness ease away.

"You don't have to lie to me." I looked up and saw the concern in his eyes. I gave him a small smile and shrugged. "Will the bath help?"
