"Yes. It is a demon."

The room went silent at her words. Without further explanations, no one would probably understand how those red leaves signify and guarantee that it was indeed a demon. But with the Grand Duke supporting her, their confusion was suspended in the air.

"How....how did this..." Shocked, the duke slumped on the bed beside his son, his gaunt face suddenly looked like it aged a lot in that time. He lowered his head and covered his mouth, blocking the agonizing whimpers of a father losing his child.

Mona averted her gaze from the father and settled them on the sleeping child. In her peripheral, he saw the Grand Duke turn towards her.

"Do you have any idea what kind of demon is it?"

She shook her head in response.

"Can it be removed?"

Blinking her teary eyes, she looked up and answered, "I don't know. I have to know what it is first."
