135. The Grand Duchess of the North

Watching proposals on social media and reading them in papers or books always made Mona wonder how the one who got proposed always felt. She watched them cry and thought – 'must they really need to cry?'

Some couldn't contain their emotions and would shout or thrash around before they answered the anticipated 'yes' and lend their fingers.

She once wondered if that time would come to her – when someone would kneel in her front, holding out a tiny box with a ring inside, asking for her 'yes'. She thought about how would she respond and decided that she wouldn't tear up.

Such a joyful occasion shouldn't be ruined with sobs and sniffles or tears and snot trickling down her cheeks. She'd smile, laugh, and jump the man down.

"I haven't said anything yet, why are you crying already?"
