CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE: Remain in Valeria

  She refused to move into his arms, “Until you tell me why you want to meet the witch during the wee-hours of tonight. Is that what you do every other night?”

  Conroy threw his head back in laughter, “I spend every night in your chambers—on your bed, buried to the hilt inside you and then watch you slumber, carried by the fleeting wings of drowsiness. Even if I am a wolf, a magical creature, I cannot split myself on your bed and hers.”

  “I never accused you of spending the nights on her bed! You lying wolf!” with that Amelia turned to face him and flung the heavy pelt on him. “You took my maidenhead vowing to always love me and remain loyal to me but you are having an affair with the witch!”

  Conroy still laughing, gathered her into his naked chest and forced her to lay still but she punched her fists on the hard panes of his sculpted arms, “You…You don’t love me.” She said in a hoarse voice, “You find your witch more appealing than your mate…”
