CHAPTER 50

  Ember's POV

I stood in a stunned silence as I watched Beatrice and her father walk away.

I had wanted to provoke a reaction, sure, but hadn't banked on it being that strong of a reaction.

Was I really ready to face off against a royal one on one?

"Don't be ridiculous Ember of course we are," my wolf growled with confidence, "Beatrice has vastly underestimated us, as I said earlier, and that will translate into how much effort she puts into the fight on the field. She thinks us weak, no better than an omega, but I promise you, she won't know what hit her once she comes face to face with us when there's no rules of your stupid human society dictating how we can behave."

I wanted to believe her, I really did, but I had a sinking feeling inside me that just wouldn't go away.

"It's nothing but anxiety Ember. Don't panic, remember what you learned in therapy." My wolf soothed as I could feel my heart being to pound.
