Nate's POV
Rae had not been lying when he said that it would be cold where we were going.
It was bad enough when he finally leveled out in the air, high above the ground below us, the cold air assaulting my eyes causing tears to stream almost relentlessly from them, and the steady beating of his wings alongside his faintly undulating bod did nothing to quell the motion sickness that seemed to curl threateningly in my stomach.
But as soon as he had announced that we would begin the shift through the realms with a half second warning, nothing could have prepared me for the bone chilling cold that seemed to invade every part of my body. It was then that I was truly appreciative of the thick furs that had been stowed alongside our saddles, and as one, our numb fingers struggled with the locks to hastily pull them around ourselves and stave off the cold.
