CHAPTER 64. Urgent Letter

Cassian tucked a stray strand of my hair behind my ear before leaning down to give me a peck on the lips while his hand lingers near my cheek. He pulled away, smiling down at me while I copied his expression.

He dropped his hand to his side but before he could leave, I reached out and wrapped my hands around his neck as I pulled him into an embrace. He immediately stiffened but after a hesitant second, he wrapped his hands around my waist and held me tighter.

“I would appreciate it if you were to warn me before kissing me like that.” I whispered in his ear.

“That was hardly a kiss, sweetheart.” He whispered back.

  “You are insufferable,”

“I could say the same about you.”

We parted from the embrace, still smiling, and looking as happy as we would ever be. “Have a great day today, Cassian.”

“Do not miss me too, my sweet Cordelia.”
