CHAPTER 68.

  I couldn't tell whether that had been a memory or a dream but when I woke up I felt happy. Smoothing was slowly starting to fill me with warm light and something that told me things would be okay. Although it could've been just a dream, and I was fooling myself by acting as though it was more.

  I sighed and got up from the bed. It was morning and Damien hadn't gotten back yesterday. His side of the bed was still made and no one had laid there, and if he had come back, I would've woken up.

  The sun shone brightly and for a second it felt like nothing had happened like Damien had never come and the Royals were downstairs eating breakfast. But one glimpse outside and reality smacked me in the face. The warriors were patrolling every inch of the grounds, our pack members were getting antsy and angrier by each day and some who had tried to retaliate had lost their lives.
