CHAPTER 52: Backstabber Hunt

  VEXON

"How is it possible?" Mane mumbled as he took a piece of glass out of my hand. I stared at him blankly.

I would rather have Ruby tend to my wounds.

  Focus, Vexon!

The attack ended half an hour ago. We were in my private cabin of the base. The Aconites threw grenades on the alcohol bottles we were shipping today. We were quite away and only a few got injured. However, a few pieces of broken glasses got into my hand. But the negative point was, we faced a huge loss due to the breaking and ruins of alcohol bottles.

"Something is wrong, Vexon. In our past two shipments, there was an attack," Kace spoke aloud, entering the cabin. Mane finished bandaging my hand and I looked at Kace. I twitched my lips, thinking about everything that occurred. "It feels as if someone revealed our shipment timings to them," Kace continued, after closing the door.

"Does that mean we have a backstabber among us?" Mane let out, disappointment lingering in his voice.
