“For what?” I asked with a blank look, sitting back on the sofa.

Vexon let out an exasperated sigh. “I was really stressed with work last night and lashed out at you.” He was really feeling bad because guilt was visible in his eyes.

“Why didn’t you go to the office today?” I was patting Allison’s back now, as she laid her head on my chest, as if she finally found the peace she was longing for.

“I took a day off.” Hearing his answer, I arched an eyebrow at him in disbelief, as he said, “I want to give my entire time to you, Ev and this new addition to our family.” He stroked Allison’s cheek with his thumb.

“I appreciate your apology, Vexon, but…” I paused for a brief moment and continued, “I don’t feel like forgiving you.”

Vexon narrowed his eyes at me after listening to my answer.

I really didn’t feel like forgiving him, probably because I knew he was hiding a lot of things from me.
