For the last two years, Kane has been dreaming of the day when his mate finally turns 18 and they can finally claim each other. However, his world suddenly comes crashing down and his dream is instantly destroyed when the alpha announces that his son (Kane's mate) has found his mate, who is the daughter of a neighboring pack's alpha. However, he can't bring himself to say anything. He has kept this a secret for two years and he was waiting for another few months until his mate's birthday, but that day is never coming now. He can't stand seeing his mate with another, and he can no longer handle being in his pack. He can't let his father know either, since he is the pack's Beta. What can he do?

　　Just the other day, I was having the time of my life with Becky, and when I wasn’t with Becky, I was with Owen.  But I haven’t seen my friend for a couple of days, and I’m now standing outside Alpha Dan’s office.


　　I still have no idea why I’ve been called back to my pack.  The one thing I know for sure is that this isn’t good.


　　My gut twists while my foot frantically taps on the floor as I sit on the edge of the chair right outside the Alpha’s office.  This almost feels like déjà vu.  I can’t remember how many times I have sat in this exact same spot over the years.


　　The only difference now is that my friend isn’t with me.  Where is he, anyway?


　　I have tried to mind link with him, but he has me blocked out.  He has never blocked me before.  Did I make him mad by starting something with Becky?
