CHAPTER 36

  Elena's POV

I staggered out of the bayou and broke out on a full sprint, running till everything I passed by was a blur and till I became invincible. I had no idea where I was heading to, it felt like my brain stopped working for some seconds and my Legs did the thinking and action. The quarter was the last place I wanted to visit, I didn't want to watch Cedric sulking alone in the tower like a kid.

So I ran past the bayou, ran past the cemetery, ran past the quarter, and eventually my legs paved the way at the church. I wasn't a believer of God, after all, I'm a vampire who can provide for 99.9% of my needs without asking a divine being for help.

I'm also a tribrid who can't die, so what could I possibly ask the lord for? Long-life? Prosperity? Or the blood of his creatures to feed on?
