CHAPTER 49

  Elena's POV

Do you know those 3D optical illusions? Those imageries made up of seemingly random patterns or dots that when stared at for long, enough with just the right quota of concentration, intensity, and at the right angle, a 3D image emerges out of the blue?

It is usually a galloping horse, a bird flying towards you, a biting shark, or some random dramatic animal in motion. But once you've seen it, you can always see it and the random patterns would never look the same again.

That was what happened to the murderous-looking Griffin. I released a pedal from the accelerator and slowed down once I was close to him. I watched him struggle to open the passenger's door as well as try to remove the huge tyre from his waistline before slipping into the seat like a fish who narrowly escaped death from the fisherman's tight grip.

"That was fun, I hope you liked it." My teeth made crushing sounds as I cracked the sweet in my mouth into pieces.
