CHAPTER 30: PAGE VI

'…THE GIFT OF WITCHCRAFT WAS OURS.' Meghan resumed reading page VI. She found the book detailed and intriguing. She wanted to finish reading the book as soon as possible and return it. As she tried to educate herself, one question lingered in her mind.

'Was I being followed by someone?'

The thought made her uncomfortable. She wondered who it might have been at the library. Why could she no longer sense the person?

'Wait! If I can't sense him… or her then he must be…AN ELDER OR A LORD!' Was her father having her monitored? Or worse, was he monitoring her himself?!!

*Gasp.

'Maybe I'm overthinking it. Someone was probably just lurking around the library in the dead hours of the night, at the exact same time I was at the library.' She took a deep breath. She needed it.

Even though she tried to convince herself that the later was the case, the thought of being monitored, especially by someone powerful sent chills down her spine. She was alone at a lonely place, unprepared for a confrontation of any sort. She could have been attacked if she lingered for a second more. She needed strength, physically.

It was time, she knew what she had to do.

Like most young ladies who were in love and yearned for the presence of the ones they had so much affection for, Jeanette laid on her bed and hugged her pillow. God! She needed that man. She couldn't stop thinking of him. She missed his eyes, his scent, she missed him. Unfortunately, she couldn't find him and worse, she hadn't heard from him since their date. 'Jeanette! What is wrong with you?' She shunned herself.

'Maybe the waitress at the restaurant knew something. An address or his last name would help.' She thought, but then threw the idea into a bin. Damien would probably find out if she asked the waitress for info on him. Jeanette sighed in sadness. Over thinking these things was never a part of her. She was losing her mind. She wondered if he was thinking of her too. She was left with just one option…social media. Surely, someone like Damien would have a really nice page.

She took to her phone.

'Da..mi...en,' she pronounced as she typed.

'There we go,' she smiled eagerly as she hit the 'search' button.

To Jeanette's greatest surprise, no profile matched the one she was looking for.

'Are you kidding me?!' She said in frustration. How could a man like that not be on social media? He looked like a celebrity!!

*Sigh

'This is who you are now, a crazy stalker!' She cursed inwardly.

As she tossed and turned, her mind analysed the 'situation'. Her encounters with this man were very coincidental. At first, she met him at the hospital and yet she couldn't find any records of him in the register. Then, she met him after her curse of a date with a jerk and somehow, she didn't have his phone number or even his surname. And now, she just found out he doesn't have an official social media account. This man was too good to be true. Everything was too much of a coincidence.
