Apologize

Closing their eyes to meditate, they move the Qi towards different part of their body. The Qi in both of their body was shining brightly as they continue to move it.

Eversince they were nine years old, that's when they have been learning how to use Qi, although they didn't know any other use if it, except to strengthen the body, but their mom was still pressuring them to continue practicing it even when it has become so enormous, almost covering their whole body.

After two hours of meditating, they opened their eyes and got out of the bed with the sole purpose of going to meet their mom.

"It's already dark, when don't you apologise tomorrow?" asked Owen as he was walking beside her.

"No Owen, I want to apologise today, I won't be able to sleep if I don't" replied Beatrice

"Alright" said Owen with a sigh.

The night sky was already out, making everywhere dark but luckily their mom room wasn't that far from theirs as they walked towards it.

On getting to the door, they knocked on it and waited patiently for her to open the door, which she did after some seconds.

"I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry for what I said, I'm really am, please forgive me" said Beatrice as she went down on her kneels.

"It's okay dear, I have forgiven you even before you came to apologise, you can get up" said Bethany as she supported her up.

"Thanks Mom" said Beatrice as she gave her a hug.

"Don't do that again okay?, you can go back to your room now" said Bethany.

"No mom, I want to stay with you tonight" said Beatrice.

"Didn't you say you were now a big girl and can sleep alone, or have you forgotten that?" asked Bethany as she looked at her.

"I remember mom, but I wish to stay with you tonight" replied Beatrice.

"Okay ladies, good night, I will be going to bed now, love you two" said Owen as he hug them before turning back to go his room.

"Goodnight, love you too" replied the both of them as they both enter inside the room before closing it.

Going back to his room, Owen quickly jumped on it as he drifted off to sleep, the intense training for today has taken a toll on him.

At around 1:30 in the morning, a loud alarm was what jolted them up from sleep, the alarm was so loud that it woke everyone sleeping inside the clan.

"Mom, what's happening?" asked Beatrice as she use her hands to close her ears.

"Stay here Beatrice, or quickly go and meet your brother in his room, tell him I said you guys are not to leave the room" said Bethany as she quickly pick her sword before sprinting out of the room.

The moment she got out, she could see Hugret walking towards the entrance of the clan, so she quickly approached him.

"Where's the attack coming from, and do you have any idea who it's from?" asked Bethany as she followed him.

"My lady, please leave, try and escape with your children, it's a full scale attack and it's coming from everywhere" said Hugret as he unsheathe his sword.

Bethany wanted to take his words to heart, but she quickly discarded it as she couldn't bring herself to abandon her people and the clan.

"No, we stay and fight till the end, this isn't the first time we are being attack, we will survive it just as we have been surviving the previous ones" said Bethany as she unsheathed her sword also.

"This is different my lady, we don't even have half the force of the enemies, we are not going to survive this" said Hugret.

"Where's sir Peter?" asked Bethany.

"He's at the other side fighting" replied Hugret.

"How come they were able to pass through the gate without us being informed in time?" asked Bethany.

"I don't know but those guards might have probably leave it open for them to come in" replied Hugret.

"We have to go help him over there, here haven't been attacked yet, so we should go help him" said Bethany as she was about going to the other side.

"No, he said I should come protect you and leave the rest to him" said Hugret before blowing on a whistle.

"What's the whistle for?" asked Bethany, but before she could get a reply, she saw Peter running towards them with blood dripping down form his body.

Looking behind him, Bethany could see close to twenty people chasing after him with one already shooting an around towards him.

"Run my lady, he's a trait...." shouted Peter, but before he could complete his sentence, the arrow has already pierce through his heart.

The moment Bethany was about rushing towards Peter, she felt something swoop pass her. Turning back, she could see Hugret about to slash at her, but was now standing still with his sword just some few inches away from her. Looking at his stomach, she could see an arrow which has pierce through his back.

"Mom, get out of there" shouted Owen as he sent another arrow flying and piercing Hugret in the head.

Looking at the direction of her room, she could see Owen and Beatrice calling out to her.

She didn't waste time as she quickly sprinted towards them to try and protect them. The moment she was running, she could see Owen shooting another arrow which was coming straight for her.

Moving out of the way on time, she heard a clang sound. Turning back to see what happened, she could see that Owen have just save her by shooting the arrow which was about to hit her from the back.

"Owen, take your sister and get out of here" shouted Bethany as she approached them.

"No mom, let's go together, I'm not leaving you behind" said Owen as he release another arrow from his bow, killing another of the enemies.
