Leaving his sword with his sister, he left the room. Not caring about the people raising their voice on top of each other, he walked out of the inn with no place in mind to go.
Patrolling the streets, he could see different scenes, but he just kept going as he doesn't want to engage in any act.
Having a lot on his mind and trying to find somewhere to think, he kept on walking in hope of seeing a quiet place he can just relax.
One of the disadvantages of staying in a local inn was that it was widely open to the public, making people to go in and out, doing whatsoever they want and shouting on top of each other voices.
No one in his right mind would pick a inn as a place for him to think as he will only feel excessive headache and nothing more.
Walking further, he could see a great number of people circling a woman with child on her arm.
Looking at the situation, he could tell it wasn't a friendly gathering as the woman was shielding her child from the people holding woods and other different weapons.
Walking pass them as it wasn't his business to interfere, he could see the crying face of the four years old child who was hugging her mom tightly.
Seeing the blood dripping down from the woman head and almost every part of her body, something snapped in him as he quickly hold the hand of one of the men that was about to hit her again with his wood.
The man who was about to hit her, turned back to look what happened as he feel a strong force holding unto his wood.
Still holding the man's hand, he walked into the center of the circle that has been formed by surrounding the woman.
Not caring about the numbers of people who were currently looking at him, he jack the wood out of the man's hand and throw it away.
Everyone on looking at him and the type of clothes he worn, they move back a little as they don't want to offend someone of higher ranking as they were all commoners.
Seeing as Owen cloth wasn't that of a commoner but more of someone who come from a rich background, they took precaution as they couldn't outright raise their voice.
Them knowing that if someone was to interfere then it wouldn't be a commoner as commoner would only be beaten to death with the woman, they therefore knew it would be someone of higher class or a benevolent person.
Mistakenly hitting someone of high status would put them in danger, as they wouldn't only lose their live but also that of their families.
With this kingdom being a type of kingdom where only the rich and wealthy voice were heard, they dare not offend someone out of their league.
"Who are you young man and why are you protecting those thieves?" Asked one of the men as he managed to muster all the courage in him just to ask that question.
Owen hearing the word thieves, made him to slightly understand what was going on as the woman and her child was about to be killed for stealing.
"What did they do to deserve this treatment?" Asked Owen as he look at them.
Even though he has understand why, he still wanted to ask as he wasn't entirely sure if his observation was correct.
"She and her daughter stole from me" replied a chubby man from the crowd.
"What did she steal?" Asked Owen quietly while staring at the man.
Just from looking at the eyes of Owen, the man was becoming uncomfortable as sweat could be seen on his face.
"She stole from my shop, two freshly baked breads" stammer the man in fear as he replied back.
Turning to face the woman on the floor, he could see the two baked breads which she was clutching to like if her life depends on it.
"How much is it?" Asked Owen as he turned to face the man.
"It's twenty bronze coins" replied the man, not daring to look at him in the eyes.
Dipping his hands on his pocket, he brought out two pieces of gold coins before throwing it on the floor.
"Now get out from my sight before I kill you all" said Owen angrily as he look at all of them.
Knowing as the problem was solve as two gold coins was greater than twenty pieces of bronze coins, the man quickly pick the coins from the ground before sprinted out of there and so did everyone who was with him.
"Are you okay?" Asked Owen as he turned to look at the woman who was still lying on the ground.
Raising her head up, she look at Owen before going down on her knees to thank him.
Looking at the face of the woman, Owen was surprised as the right words to say was the girl as she doesn't seem like someone who was up to twenty.
Her face was just too young and beautiful to be called a woman and so was her stature.
"You don't have to thank me, you can stand up now" said Owen as he look at her.
Trying to get up, she fell back as her legs wasn't in the condition to walk base on how swollen it was.
"Mom, mom!!" Cried the girl who was now beside her mother trying to raise her up.
Owen on hearing the word mom seem to be surprised as he expect her to be the older sister of the child and not her mother
"I'm fine Kara, don't worry, mom's fine, here take this and eat" said the girl as she give her the bread for her to eat.
"Please mister, help my mom, please!!!" Cried the girl as she hold the hands of Owen.
Looking at the child for some seconds and turning back to look at her mom, he could see she has lost consciousness.
