"It's been a while." Stefano grinned like an arrogant son of a bitch. "All this time you spent searching for me, and here I came walking right into your goddamn restaurant. How's that for irony, huh?"

I pulled out the gun and aimed it right at him. "I'm thinking you probably expect me to ask why?"

He shrugged, seemingly unfazed about the fact that he had a deadly weapon aimed at his goddamn forehead. "Well, Antonio, Anthony, whatever the hell you are calling yourself these days, that's completely up to you."

I narrowed my eyes into angry slits, glaring at him. "The truth is I don't give a fuck why you chose to walk in here like you had nothing to lose. I just want to plant some lead in your skull."

"Understandable." He acted all aloof, confident — too confident.

I gestured for Lucian to go over to Morello, to make sure his hands were securely fastened behind his back. We couldn't afford any surprises.
