Ch 22: The Dragon Chain That Wrapped Around The World (12)

It all started with Hao, who rushed in first from behind the wyvern, aiming his attack toward the wyvern's legs, and started sitting on its leg. At the same time, Valka, distracting the wyvern, began to attack it to ensure that its attention would not turn toward Hao.

Kaori did not stand idly either; she started casting all sorts of elemental spells, fire, ice, lightning and wind, all kinds of elements striking down the wyvern. A series of cracking sounds echo throughout the room, with all three players performing Just Frame once after the others.

The series of attacks continue, and there are all sorts of wounds on the wyvern body with blood pouring out of it. No longer after, the wyvern roared again, causing all three players to cover their ears instinctively, and the wyvern at this moment started flapping its wings. It began to fly with its tail hanging from down below, with the blue energy circle at the tip of its tail beginning to glow again.

Before coming from above, the wyvern shoots a laser from the tip of its tail again; this time, it is aimed toward Valka. Due to quite the distance between the flying wyvern and Valka, the latter could dodge the laser. However, the laser continued to start to track Valka.

But it did not stop there, and the wyvern also turned its head toward Hao, who was trying to find a way to hit the wyvern in the air. While its tail is aiming toward Valka, its head, on the other hand, is now looking at Hao, with its mouth open, before it starts to shoot a blue fireball at Hao, who is still able to dodge the attack quickly.

While all of this was happening, Kaori had been casting a spell until, finally, she had finished casting her magic, and the moment she finished casting her spell, a massive red circle appeared above the flying wyvern before slowly, blood from the wyvern wound start to pour out more before gathering above the red circle.

Hao, who had been watching this while dodging the fireball coming from the wyvern, could not help but admire the spectacle in front of him.

'Just what kind of spell is that?'

After a short amount of time, above the red magic circle is a decent size ball made of the blood of the wyvern that had been created. What happened next was something that would amaze me to no end, and that is, the ball of blood started to change shape, and despite all of the things that were happening right now, Hao could hear Kaori saying something.

"Kumo no Guren-Ito(1)" Hao can hear Kaori saying those words.

Suddenly the ball of blood changes its shape into a web of strings that starts to wrap around the whole wyvern body, causing the wyvern to fall out of the air due to its wings being constricted, stopping its flight, and its attacks on Hao and Valka.

"Valka, if you may," Kaori said loud enough for Valka to hear, and Valka immediately reeled his fist back. That reel-back fist started to glow silver before; with another mighty cry, Valka swung his fist forward, straight into the wrapped wyvern face with a loud crack sound, sending it back flying at an insane speed.

And the wrapped wyvern itself was flying toward none other than Hao.

'Oh, come on.' Hao thought, seeing the fast approaching wyvern, and despite his thought, Hao had a smirk on his face.

Activating one of his skills, Rising Blade, Hao reeled back his leg, ready to kick the wyvern coming toward him. Hao kicked the wyvern straight into the sky with a loud crack, creating another massive pillar of blue light.

"How pretty," Kaori said quietly while admiring the pillar of light before clutching one of her fists. "Shichi Jigoku(2)"

The moment Kaori said that, the wyvern that was sent flying into the sky started to glow red due to the threads that wrapped around the wyvern before the blood string burst into flame, engulfing the entire wyvern in flame.

But it did not stop there; Kaori reached her arm out before twisting it slightly, saying, "Amanokaze(3)."

The wind started to gather before a whirlwind was created around the wyvern, producing a flaming tornado.

"Damn, that's pretty cool." Hao cannot help but to said it out loud 'This is what a competent elemental mage looks like, huh? Combing it with that subclass of hers makes one hell of a combo.' Hao thought

While the flaming tornado continues to burn away the wyvern, the tornado suddenly stops due to being cut from the inside, revealing the wyvern had used its blade wings that had been free to cut away the flaming tornado.

While it seems that the wyvern is still alive, it does take a lot of damage, indicating it from many burn marks all over its body. The wyvern quickly lands back on the ground; this time, its gaze is now Kaori, and it looks pretty agitated.

"It seems more push is needed," Kaori said while looking back at the wyvern with no fear in her eyes, and she seemed to be more amused than anything. As if to respond to her, the wyvern roared in a fury, and more energy was constructed out of the wyvern body. This time it starts to cover the entire wyvern body, creating a full hard-light armour covering the wyvern as the whole body.

"Look like it still has more tricks in its sleeves," Hao muttered quietly.

Valka did not stand ideally either, and he rushed back toward the wyvern and tried to get its attention, but did time; the hit did not seem even to faze the wyvern. However, it did gain the attention of the wyvern, but it only looked at Valka for a second before turning its gaze back toward Kaori and rushing toward her.

Kaori quickly teleported and disappeared out of the wyvern's way. Still, the wyvern did not stop and promptly turned its body toward Kaori, who had reappeared next to it, before rushing straight at Kaori again. The series of events continued a few more times before it stopped due to exhaustion.

While all this is happening, Hao reappears behind the wyvern before jumping on its back. At the same time, it is exhausted, then with both of his daggers in his hands, he stabs it through the hard-light armour right on the wyvern's back, causing the wyvern to scream in pain before it starts to struggle and send Hao flying away from it's back, and Hao was able to land on his feet.

However, Hao had lost both of his daggers because they were still stuck on the wyvern's back, causing Hao to click his tongue in annoyance.

Valka seeing this, quickly rushed in before also jumping on top of the wyvern's back and grabbing both of Hao's daggers with his hand before dragging them along the wyvern's back from it back through its tail, creating a massive cut wound along its back.

Even though the weapon does not belong to him or his class, Valka will still be able to use it as long as it is not in the owner's hands, but as a result, he will deal less damage and will not be able to activate any effect that the weapon has.

Valka then quickly tossed both of Hao's daggers back toward the latter, who promptly caught it. Again, Kaori used the same skill creating a red magic circle above the wyvern, before gathering more blood from the wyvern.

This the wyvern seems to notice what is happening this time, so it opens its jaw before sending a stream of blue fire toward Kaori, who immediately dodges out of the way, but the red circle is still going and gathering more blood.

Hao and Valka rush in and start attacking the wyvern again, with Valka attacking it from the front while Hao is behind attacking it to get the buff from the backstab. While all this was happening, Hao got a notification from a system.

You can activate this ability mid-air and throw a dart of energy instead. If this activate ability hits the enemy from behind, it will also cause bleed damage (does not stack)|

'Oh really? Now is not the time to get a skill.' Hao complained in his thought before dismissing the notification.

The assault on the wyvern continues before. Finally, Kaori seems to gather enough blood from the wyvern and activate more of her spell.

She then said "Tengoku no Kaminari(4)"

Hao and Valka rush in and deal massive damage to the wyvern. The orb of blood changes violently before suddenly it turns into a gigantic crimson thunder that strikes down upon the wyvern. With that enormous thunder strike, the wyvern screamed in pain before collapsing.

With the shock damage from Kaori, the wyvern was stunted for quite a long time. A time enough for all three players to deal massive damage toward wyvern.

With every swing of Hao daggers, with every punch from Valka's fist, with every spell Kaori cast, the wyvern, despite its armour, is screeching in pain while laying down on the ground. It was a barrage of attacks on a wyvern, and the series of cracking sounds echoed again.

And finally, after who knows how long, the wyvern eventually died.
