Snatched so Quickly

It happened so fast. That was all it was to Bailey. She saw Joe heading towards her building. He had not spotted her yet. She was so focused that she had not even realized the person approaching her to her right. He grabbed her arm and started pulling her towards the back of the building.

Bailey gasped and looked up. Her eyes widened as she met his. Her heart beat spiked. He started to smile but placed his finger on his mouth, motioning her to be quiet.

"Come walk with me," he said and gripped her arm tightly. They started walking around the back of the reception, and by the time they reached the front again, Joe was gone. He must have made his way up to the office.

Clay had literally stolen her right from under his nose. Bailey's heart raced, and her hands started to feel clammy. She blinked a whole lot as Clay took her outside.

"What do you want with me?" Bailey asked.

"You'll see," he whistled. "You'll see."

Clay's grip remained the same as he kept his pace. Bailey was struggling to keep up, but soon the rough concrete paths were replaced with grass. They were at a park.

"How long have you been on a swing?" Clay asked motioning to the playground and the children playing there.

"Since I was a child, what do you think? They are meant for children," Bailey responded. "Are you going to kill me here?"

"Kill you, my my, relax," Clay let go of his grip on her arm, but proceeded to wrap his arm around her shoulder, and squeezed. "You know I love you too much for that. I don't kill things I love."

Bailey swallowed hard. She desperately wanted to run, but where could she go? His grip on her was still firm, and unless someone paid attention to her facial expression, they would just assume that they were a normal couple. And even so, with Clay smiling, they ,might just simply assume that he was teasing her, and that she just wasn't pleased.

Clay took her to the bench and made her sit down. Bailey gasped at the hard shove, but as her fingers brushed against the cold steel bench, she snapped slightly out of her daze.

"What is this?"

"Just a couple's walk in the park is all," Clay said and leaned closer towards Bailey. Bailey moved to the side, as she stared at him. He merely smiled and sat up straight. She was still all too aware of his arm that was around her back, holding her in place.

She was still startled by how he managed to kidnap her right under Joe's nose. But then again, he knew what to do, what to say, and how to fit it in.

"So, for a first date, would you like flowers? Dinner? Movies?"

"You're crazy to think I would ever go out with you,"

"Then what's this?"

"A kidnapping," Bailey said.

"A kidnapping?" Clay smiled as he checked his watch. "What kidnapping? You are free to come and go as you please."

"Then why'd you drag me here?"

"I wanted to find out what you would like for a date. Dancing? You like dancing, don't you?"

Bailey pushed herself away from him and stood up. "I'm leaving."

"Already? We just had time to get acquainted again...prison's no fun, but you are,"

"And you're sick, don't follow me," Bailey said as she turned around and started walking back to her work.

"No promises there!" Clay called out, however, he remained seated. There was one big benefit, he was not following her. And she took this opportunity. She kept looking back, and Clay just remained seated. He dragged her all the way there just to let her go?

What the hell?

Joe rushed up to her workplace. He needed to find her, however, when he did not find her at her desk, he started to become concerned. He turned to one of the other workers there. "Have you seen Bailey?"

"Bailey? Yeah, she received a package, and she stormed downstairs, she hasn't been up since,"

Joe froze as the co-worker said that. He pulled out his phone and headed back toward the elevators. He froze as he saw a man walking past him. He looked seriously off, his whole stance, and his hand in his coat.

He dropped the phone as he saw a silver flash of a gun. Before the first shot was fired, Joe pounced on top of him, tackling him to the ground, and grappling for the gun.
