Never Forgive

Chapter 23

Umami looked at me with a look I didn't know what it meant. I'm annoyed with all of this. With a feeling of anger, I took the bag that was located on the chair and then turned to Mas Azzam.

"If anything happens to my mother, I will never forgive you, Mas!" Finished saying, I said goodbye to Papa.

I ignored Umami who was standing next to Papa. I have to go home to drown out the emotions I'm feeling. Before any heart is hurt because of my words. When I got home I tried to rest. The drowsiness immediately put me to sleep.

I don't know how long I fell asleep, when I woke up the light in my room was on. The bedroom window has also been closed, it looks like it is night. It must be Aunt who closed the window and turned on the light in my room. I went out of the room, hunger suddenly attacked my stomach. I rushed to the dining room.

There was no one there, but there was already dinner on the table. Looks like Auntie deliberately prepared it for me. Without waiting long, I just devoured the food on the table until my stomach felt full. After that, I contacted Papa.

"Assalamualaikum, have you had dinner yet?" I asked.

"Waalaikumsalam, already, Ra. Just bought it by Azzam. Did you just wake up?"

"Yes, Papa. How come Papa knows that I'm sleeping?"

"Earlier, Papa called home, Aunt said you were still sleeping. You're not here anymore, Ra?"

"What ... Mas Azzam is still there, Pa? I'm lazy to meet him," I answered.

"He's gone back to his parents' house. Papa told him not to bother you first. That's what you want, right?" I nodded, then realized that Papa couldn't see him.

"Yes, Pa. Thank you, yes, Pa. Already understand my situation." The father now is different from the past. If in the past he was very selfish and didn't want to be denied, now Papa has changed to be more gentle and wise in dealing with his child.

"Papa is sorry that he always forced his will on you and Cleo. I'm sorry, Papa!" Papa's voice was hoarse and weak.

"No, Pa. I'm sure it's all because Papa loves us. Oh, yes, Pa. Is Doctor Umam still there too?" I asked as I thought of Umami.

"No, he's gone home. His work schedule is over. You've come here, haven't you. If so, please bring Papa's sarong and cap, okay. In a hurry, I forgot to bring it."

"Yes, Pa. Clara will bring it later. It's been a while, Dad. Assalamualaikum." I hung up my phone after Papa returned the greeting. Then get ready to go to the hospital. Don't forget to take Papa's order from his room.

"Non going to the hospital? Did you have dinner?" I nodded at the Aunt who had just come out of her room still wearing a mukena. Apparently he had just finished praying. I just remembered that I haven't done my duty yet. I immediately went to the bathroom to perform ablution. Then go into the room to perform the Maghrib prayer which was almost missed.

"How is Mama, Pa?" I asked Papa. I just arrived with Cleo. Incidentally when I was about to leave earlier, he just arrived home. He said he had a college assignment that he couldn't leave. So just go home when Maghrib is past. It turned out that Mama had been transferred to the ICU because her condition still required more intensive care.

"Still like before, tomorrow Doctor Abdi will be back. So we can ask him tomorrow," answered Papa with a smile. His hand stroked Cleo's hair who was sitting leaning on her.

"Hmm, Doctor Umam told Papa a lot earlier. He has told your story in the past. He said he wanted to improve your relationship, Ra," Papa continued with the news that surprised me. "Clara is not interested, Pa. Clara is still hurt by her mother's words!" I answered.

"Who's Doctor Umam, Pa?" Cleo asked.

"Little girl, just shut up!" I said.

"It's fine, who's a small child. I'm about to graduate from college, you know, Ma'am!" protested Cleo.

"Still, you're still young," I said, intending to tease her. It's been a long time since we didn't joke like this. I miss the times when Cleo and I still lived. together. Cleo often cries because of my ignorance and Papa will always defend him.

"Papa, look at Mbak Clara. When I was said to be young," she sulked, hugging Papa who laughed at the interaction between the two of us.

"Well, I don't want to say I'm still young. I still like to sulk and complain," I teased again. I like to tease Cleo who still likes to spoil Papa. However, the pleasure I feel doesn't last long. something happened to Mama. Not long after that the nurse came back with the doctor on duty. We were prevented from entering the other nurse.

Finally, the three of us could only see from the glass window with the cloth uncovered. The doctor looked at Mama. I don't know what happened. , but I continue to pray that Allah will give you a speedy recovery. Time goes by so slowly, we wait anxiously. Not long after, Doctor Umami comes with a worried face. . He glances at me briefly before entering the ICU. I can only hope in my heart.

Time seemed to go by for a very long time, making me, Papa and Cleo have to keep waiting anxiously. The anxiety and worry I felt made my body feel weak. My eyes started to feel dizzy like seeing thousands of ants that filled my eyes.

"Clara, what are you doing?" Papa asked when he saw me holding my head.

"Cleo, bring your sister over there!" Papa told Cleo to take me to the waiting chair in front of the ICU.

Cleo led me to the chair made of stainless. This head is getting dizzy, I closed my eyes while leaning my back trying to rest.
