Melody inherited her mother's red luscious hair and her freckles, she inherited her golden eyes from her father.
Although Lady Cynthia was greatly favored by her father, it was the opposite for her.
During a vacation trip in the mountains, the carriage they were riding on was suddenly attacked by bandits. Everyone in the carriage died except for Melody. When the Marquis found out about the incident, he was in denial at first and could not face her daughter, Melody for weeks. Due to this, rumors started spreading that Melody is a cursed child and that the Marquis household is pitiful for having such a child.
Normally, cursing a noble's child is an offense punishable by death, however since Melody had been neglected, nobody really cared about her anymore. Because of this, everywhere she goes, she was ridiculed and humiliated.
Despite being the Marquis' only daughter, she was treated horribly by the public, maybe due to this, Melody stopped caring and would act wildly in public if she wanted to. There was no point already, everyone would look for ways to degrade her, even if she invented some kind of life-changing technology, she'd still be looked down upon, all because of an incident she had zero control over...
I mean... Who would expect an 8-month-old child to chase away bandits... An 8-month-old child... Melody couldn't even talk at that time.
However, it was clear that those so-called nobles are just jealous of the Marquis' household's achievements. Since they couldn't outwardly say that, they just looked for some weak girl who couldn't fight back and bullied her to the core.

Five hours ago, outside the Marquis' study room.
"Master, may I come in?" Butler Gil, who had been serving the Marquis family for generations, asked.
"Come in" a cold voice was heard on the other side of the room.
Butler Gil walked in and looked at his Master who, over the years, had neglected his physical appearance. He had a long beard and messy hair, everyone who'd see him would think he was some old hermit that would spread some sort of wisdom to the people.
He shooked his head sadly. Ever since Lady Cynthia passed away tragically, he had never seen his master smile or even have any emotions other than sadness and disgust on his face.
"Master, about a young lady-" Butler Gil took the initiative to talk about the incident. Out of all the servants of the house, only Butler Gil and Melody's nanny truly pitied the child. He'd sometimes save up his money to buy something nice for the lady on her birthday, he'd do this secretly to not anger the Marquis.
"Stop, I thought I told you that I never wanted to hear any news about that child again" The Marquis ordered.
"But Master, the miss fainted," Butler Gil said worriedly. There was silence in the room for a couple of minutes before the Marquis said something.
"Just summon some doctors to treat her. Keep a closer eye on her and don't let her wander outside again." The Marquis ordered Butler Gil could only sigh as he closed the door to the study.
While walking down the hall he could not help but feel bad for the Lady's life for the past few years.
Melody was once a very cheerful child, the type to always smile whenever they are people around, although she was scorned by the nobles outside, she was adored by the servants and the people working inside the mansion. She was indeed a lovely and cheerful kid.
Whenever her father come back from trips, she'd wait for him all day and would welcome him very warmly. However, that warm welcome was exchanged with nothing but a cold glare from her father and a disbelief look from her brothers.
Clef symphony at that time was only twelve years old. He had always hoped to be a big brother and to have a little sister, so when her mother, Lady Cynthia, gave birth to his long-awaited sister, he promised to stay by her side and protect her. He kept his promise and stood by Melody's side until she was five years old. However, due to the influence of her father and brother who treated Melody coldly, he soon followed their steps and blamed Melody for the death of their beloved mother.
At five years old, Melody was alone with no one to lean on, and no one to depend on. Sooner or later when she turned twelve years of age, the maids who were assigned to her left one by one, other than her nanny Yanna, her personal maid Thea and two other maids, she was left alone in her room most of the time. Due to her being greatly unfavored by her father, countless maids and servants became bold and even stole some of her allowance and funds.
Because of this, her mansion became dull and messy with only three maids and a nanny keeping it clean. Melody's mood started taking a turn after she was invited to a tea gathering hosted by the princess of the kingdom. In that gathering, they did nothing but bully and belittle her.
Melody thought that attending that tea gathering can finally gain her some friends to talk to, laugh with, and share her grievances with, however she was gravely wrong.
On her thirteenth birthday, she pleaded with her father to give her an extravagant party, to which the Marquis agreed. There she met the love of her life, Izaac. He was the only one who did not ridicule her or look at her with disgust, he was also the one who comforted her when she ran out of her own party to cry in the garden.
At that moment,. Melody saw hope. She saw a chance for her to step into society and make friends, however since nobody taught her how to actually make friends and how to gain someone's attention.. Melody resorted to..tricks..to gain Izaac's attention. Unfortunately, those tricks did not work and only made her the center of ridicule again.
Butler Gil sighed in agony and thought. 'M'lady Cynthia, I apologize that I can only do this much to protect the miss' he then hurriedly walked away to call on some doctors to check up on the lady once again.
