Chapter 3 Ice Wolves Pack

After exiting my father's office as quickly as possible I decided to go straight to school and keep a low profile from the buzzing about to the pack house. I'm sure my brief insult didn't go quietly. It seems the more I try lately to become closer to taking the throne the worse I get teased and my patience is tested.

Well despite what they think I will become the best alpha queen there is. Its a Mans world you could say, since most she wolves don't get the chance to rule without a male mate. I want to be that difference, I strive to be an advocate for the females right to rule.

I may only be 17 but I'll be 18 in just under 2 weeks and I already know my mate isn't from my pack. Most wolves shift for the first time at 13-15 but if you have royal blood you may shift as early at 11, like me.

Sadie an I are very close, well as close as you can be since its not like I can keep her out of my thoughts. We share the same body and brain, but carry different ideals. She acts mostly out of instinct and I try to think rationally. She's my sanity and strength always protecting me and encouraging me learn, I thank the moon daily for her being my other half.

Grabbing my keys to, my Black Betty as I like to call her , she was my 16th birthday gift. A Black and Chrome Land Rover that sits in the driveway along with the multiple other vehicles the pack has. Most of the pack shares but the betas and alphas have there own since we travel the most.

Standing at the door I hit the engine start to warm up the SUV before I braved the snow to get to her. While waiting Millie and Max came bounding down the stairs with Max in the lead and shouting "hurry up Millie Billie I call shotgun," rolling my eyes at there childish attics she responded with " touch it and ill castrate you dog".

At-least I cant complain that I get bored around here. Max covered his boys on instinct and called her mean.

"Come along children, your chariot awaits" I sang as I strolled out the door headed to the drivers seat. Millie jumped in the front causing a sulking Max to get in the back seat. Before he closed his door it was wrenched back open to reveal no one other than Icky Vicky herself.

All of us shared a disgusted look and Max spoke up before I could " What are you doing Vicky? you ride with Santos and the others." Santos is our delta along with the other lower ranks.

"Alpha king Samuel insisted I catch a ride with y'all as an apology from Sarah". Before I could make a snarky retort about her riding on the hood as my ornament, my father mind linked me to tell me to appease her and allow it as a show of good faith. I waved her inside and she happily plopped down next to Max batting her eyes in a show of innocents and possibly to Flirt?....

'THIS DAY CANT GET ANY WORSE' growled Sadie in my mind and flopping over on her side dramatically.

Pulling out the driveway Millie flipped the station to Katy Perry's I kissed a girl and we sang our hearts out. Even Icky Vicky sang along, I'm sure she's the reason the song was made too.

'JUST WHAT I WAS THINKING' snickered Sadie.

Whipping around the cars and trucks on the four-lane to school, a guy in a duly slammed on his brakes swerving to miss the stopped car in front of him and almost took out the side of my SUV.

'GUESS I SPOKE TO SOON'

'Sadie give the negativity a pause will you please.'

Vicky rolled down her window and proceeded to curse the guy and flip him off. Millie and I exchanged WOW faces and Max leaned over pulling her back into the window. Apparently she was close to shifting to her wolf and biting his head off literally, at the snarls and growls coming from her shaking form.

Max rubbed circles on her arm as he waved an apology to the petrified driver of the truck where we stopped by. Once the cars started moving again from the apparent clean up of a wreck, the trip to school was uneventful.

Pulling into the closes spot I could find, multiple faces turned our way, even more so when Vicky stepped out from the passenger seat and Max still had his arm around her shoulders. As if she wasn't fazed, Vicky pushed her shoulders out and marched toward the steps, pushing aside poor humans as she made her way though the school.

"Skank didn't even say thanks" commented Millie as we also followed her through school. Max looked flustered but was smiling with his usual charm and laying it on the multitude of girls pining for his attention.

Ill admit he was very good looking with stubble adorning his sun-kissed skin and broad shoulders, but he felt more like a brother to me than that. As if he could feel my eyes on him he waved and winked in my direction earning me a glare from a few girls. I rolled my eyes and flipped him off, plus he changes women like a car window changes views.

MIllie says its like a rotating door to his bedroom with the mingling scents of sex and arousal. I gag thinking of it, I feel sorry for her having to sleep next to his room with only a wall to separate them. At-least the rooms are all well insulated to muffle the noise.

Getting the books from my locker and slamming it shut, I shuffled with the other students to my class. School went by slowly with me catching a few zees in between lectures, being a senior I get to leave at lunch for the day. I'm only taking a few advanced classes to add to my college applications.

Finally the last bell rang signaling lunch for the others, so I went to my locker to put away my books. Now that I have another hour added on for the already 2 hour pack training. I'm going to try and get it done early with today being Friday, I'm ready to party and this training is going to delay that.

Racing to my SUV I stopped briefly to wave to the twins and a few select others on my way out. I wasn't watching where I was going and slammed into what I thought was a wall, when I landed flat on my ass. luckily I didn't have anything with me or it would have scattered.

Looking up I realized that wall was a stout mostly bald man with stray brown hairs slicked to the sides and back of his head. His goons immediately stepped in front of him, my twins too where at my sides before a word was spoke, helping me up and awaiting my go ahead to tear them apart. Even Vicky and a few others of my pack where standing behind me ready.

The amount of respect and love I felt was overwhelming so much my wolf and I proudly stood high. I was eye level with the goons when I smelt there wolves too, a look of recognition came over there faces and they bowed there heads in apology. A low growl passed the lips of the balding man who I bared my teeth and growled back. Millie mind linked me to tell me he was the Beta to the Alpha king of Shadows.

"Beta Evans so nice of you to drop in" Max sneered beside me "What do we owe for this honor" he asked.

" Well we are here to inspect the school since our district is closest to here and our school has been demolished with a recent attack on our hierarchy". He calmly replied.

" Well I would assume that you went through the correct protocols in place to issue this order along with informing of the alphas and betas of the Ice Wolves". Max straightened to his full height staring into Evan's eyes.

His glare switched from addressing Max to myself when he spoke. "Ah, you must be the princess, I have heard of your overactive mouth that gets ahead of your brain, however I did not hear of the beauty you have as well." His face transformed into a predatory grin and his hand outstretched to stroke my cheek

I snatched his wrist before he could touch me and shot back " Yes well brains and beauty run in my alpha line and you'll do well to remember that next time you try to touch what is not yours."

With a snort then a chuckle he retracted his hand and gave a stiff nod " I suppose your high horse has yet to be kicked down, watch that pretty tongue of yours it'll get you in trouble one day."

Max and Millie bristled then stepped to my sides and Millie spoke loudly" Is that a threat on the princess , Beta Evans?" He only smiled in return and brushed by us down the hall toward the main office.

"That guy disgusts me, are you going to tell your dad?" Millie shuttered as she watched him disappear down the corridor.

"Nah, he has enough to worry about, I can take care of myself. I will ask about this attack on there hierarchy, I didn't hear about it in the last meeting". Millie and max shared a look.

"That's because when it was being discussed you were zoned out ogling one of the alpha princes of the Dessert Wolves Pack." Max snorted.

Blushing and turning away I swatted at Millie's playful poke at my side and her mock kissy faces.

" OK well I have training so y'all enjoy the rest of the day and ill see you tonight". Rushing away this time watching my path as I went to the car to head home.

'I'M READY TO GET HIS IMAGE OUT MY HEAD AND WRESTLE WITH BRUCE ANYWAY'

Great Sadie now your hormones are going to egg on my embarrassment. Shaking my head and laughing I started the rover and left the school for the training grounds.
