Chapter Two

The next morning in her den of a cave, the wolf girl remembered the mythical being she saw. She had never seen antlers as white as ivory in person. They've woven and intertwined the man's black horns in such a delicate way. This wasn't her first time seeing spirits live among humans in harmony, it was however her first time witnessing a dragon. Kneeling down the cave floor, she gently pressed her finger to the loose dirt. Trying to recreate the design. "Hmm.." suddenly, a toad had hopped onto her drawing. Making the dirt flat once more. The girl sighed and picked up the toad. "There is another demon here," the toad stated. The girl just stared at it. "If you could tell me where, then I won't boil you alive," the toad squealed and quickly squirmed out of her grasp. Following it out the cavern the toad turned north. "Follow the bones," the amphibious creature chanted before hopping off again. Turning north herself, She noticed that it was toward the center of the mortals city. She had to blend in. She couldn't go on looking the way she did. Nude in all of her glory.

Bells can be heard ringing from the square. Children can be seen leaving their school in uniforms. Some walking home with friends, others being picked up by their parents/guardians. A woman sits by the entrance, looking for her child when she sees a teacher walk by. "Excuse me, Mr. Wang, did you see Tammie?" The look she received from the teacher was warm when he acknowledged her, he then glanced back at the school for a moment before he continued,"Tammie.. I believe she left already with a friend. Are you here waiting for her?" The woman looked down before she shook her head, "Ah! No..I wanted to surprise her, but I must have missed her. Sorry for the trouble," the annoyed woman returned to her car mumbling before driving off. The man turned back to exit the school grounds, his eyes turning yellow, and once he got into his car, he felt some thing stuck between his teeth. He reached in, extending his nail and picked out a small bone from his now retracted canines. Closing his mouth now his face began to shift from Mr. Wong, to a different being. A dirt covered man with greasy short hair was the new face of this demon. The demon snickered adjusting his rear view mirror to a black bag in his back seat before driving off the campus.

"Rio!" A woman plead, wrapping her arms around the young mans neck from behind. "You have to come!" "No way! I told you not to get me involved!" The woman let go of him, slapped her hands together, rubbing them against each other. "Oh pretty please? I'll get you an ice cream," she ran in front of him as they walked down a street. "How old do you think I am?" Rio walked by her without a second glance. "If I settle this deal with Miss Arai next week, I'll be looking at a $25000 increase in my pay for this month, you have to help me seal this deal," Rio turned to his sister, her white curly hair was pulled into a messy bun, her rosy pink lips poking out in a pout. "I am not sleeping with your future business partner," Rio shrugged, "isn't she like, in her 50's." The girl sighed, "you don't have to sleep with her, just flirt a-bit, maybe take her on a couple of dates. It will only be until she signs the contract." "Song Hua, I'm not helping you," she growled, folding her arms in defeat. "Fine, just don't call me that. Use my American name. Lily. It grew on me." Rio, rolled his eyes, stuffing his hands into his blue hoodie. They both walked up to a gas station and Lily walked in first. Rio, looking back across a neighboring street before entering the store.

"Is this sufficient?" The woman asked herself while she magically painted on her clothing. She hid in a treetop, overlooking the females that passed by her wearing the modernized attire. She finally decided to just wear a simple white dress. She wore her short hair down and finally hopped down from her perch. Her white shoes clicked against the concrete beneath her and she explored the grounds, looking for clues. "Follow the bones…" she recalled. She thought of a few spirits that would raise red flags for her. Unlike a banshee, she was most likely looking for a demon that doesn't want to be found. Hearing the banshees cries the other night must have made it move farther north, she thought. She crosses the street and approached a food stand, "Oi! Oi miss!" A man waved for the woman to come closer. As she did the man's eyes turned blue and a different voice echoed from his lips. "Anna, I commend you for taking care of the banshee, but I am still receiving souls from this village. Be sure to be on your guard." The woman gave him a cold look. "I know what to do." The man leaned back for a moment. "Cut me some slack. It's not my fault the demons escaped from here. That damned Baboon caused us all a great deal of inconvenience." "Surly you didn't contact me to complain about what happened nearly a millennia ago," Anna cut him off. The man folded his arms and shut his eyes. With a nod he continued. "The demon your looking for favors children. I would start looking for clues where there are many," the man opened his eyes to look at her again. "The souls are labeled with tags behind their shoulders. Find a human child with a tag, and they will lead you to the demon." Satisfied, She turned to leave the man in the stall. The man sighing before leaving the humans body.
