An Unexpected quest has begun!

Title: SURVIVORS OF THE KAWAWA REGION

Description:

You have encountered the remaining survivors of the Kawawa Region running away from mysterious and powerful pursuers. Protect them until the next village.

Objective: Save them.

Reward: Chain quest

Penalty: Death

A heavy sigh escaped my lips as a group of panicking survivors came running to our aid. Concern and shock did thug at my heartstrings, but I felt bad that the first thing I thought was the image of those stray cats back in Earth rushing and meowing at me every time I had to walk in that certain alley in the neighborhood. I felt bad everytime, but after it became a daily occurrence, I started to feel irritated.

I don't have food…I would always say despite feeling bad.

I almost slapped myself thinking this. How could I compare human lives to stray cats begging for food?! I'm not that bad of a person.

"Please help us, warriors!"

"Dangerous people are pursuing us."

"Some of us already died, please help us."

The expression on the refugees' faces was the truth.

The wind howled and the thunder roared. The weather wasn't very promising at all. I gazed at the direction where they came from, and our current location.

We were in a vast forest on the mountains. It wasn't the type to have many greenery, there were more rocks instead. Frankly, I would never have imagined I would even go somewhere close to something like this before though many of my friends would love hiking in these kind of terrains. Still, who in their right mind would go to this place except for crazy assholes addicted to adrenaline? But I am here.

Why?

I don't know myself. So why don't you google it?

I had to pat myself in the head as this isn't the Earth I know.

As we ventured through the mountains to find the exit, an eerie feeling clutched my heart even more. Every time I felt this way, it felt like something bad would really happen. Actually, I already know that it will happen. Not later, but soon.

If I have to use an analogy, it would be like hesitating to go to school, but you end up going anyway only to get scolded by the professor for something dumb you did which you thought no one had seen such as masturbating inside the classroom. Not that I ever did such a shameful thing!

I plaster a smile on his face.

Staring at the system interface, I was furious because I knew already that I would have to fight for these people whose names I don't even know. What I die?? How ridiculously unfair this is? Let me go back to my world, will you?

Fighting people to death under these conditions would be punishment itself.

Wearing a calm expression, I angrily ordered the group to hurry as the bad omen I'm feeling increasingly got stronger just now. Despite what I feel inside, I should at least save what I can save.

"-..."

Rustle! Rustle!

'...'

As if the world was mocking me, we suddenly heard loud rustling behind the trees, followed out by grey wolves heading towards our direction.

I instinctively gripped the handle of the sword on my waist. The survivors started to hide behind our group but surprisingly, the wolves didn't attack.

"?"

"!"

"Shit!" I cursed loudly.

Then I unsheathed my sword as quick as I can as the thundering hooves of horses and a rain of several arrows headed straight to us. I deflect the arrows with a few swings before I retreated a few steps.

With a swift motion, my friend, Rith, then extends her hands forward, channeling an unseen force that formed a shimmering barrier of light, deflecting the arrows like nothing.

"Look who we have here!"

It didn't take a lot of time for scary looking barbarians to appear before us, surrounding us with their strong-looking mounts.

Barbarians, huh? As I've expected, they looked the same as what was portrayed in movies. Battle-crazed eyes and ugly-looking dudes with freaky smiles on their faces.

I am now about to fight a bunch of robbers only in medieval ages version with my life on the line. Until now, I still can't believe it.

I am in another world, and this world has people with supernatural abilities. They can summon fires from their palms, water from their fingertips, lightning, and several other supernatural techniques.

What about me? Do I have powers too?

HAHAHAHA!

The answer is pretty clear. Of course, I do.

First of all, I have the system interface, allowing me to live my life as if it was a game.
