I asked suddenly worried. "calm down Sophia, there's still hope. I met with one of my old friend,he has a company but he is retired now but his son is the CEO of the company now. so for us to become partners you will have to marry his son or at least get engage to him first" Dad said carefully." what? how is that possible dad, I can't get married to someone I know nothing about not to talk of love Dad,this is totally insane" I said tearing up.
" I know it's hard for you dear,but you have to do it to save our company" mum said rubbing my palms gently. "I'm sorry mum but I can't get married to someone I know nothing about"I replied.

Standing in front of the Desmond telecommunication company, Sophia take a huge breath before stepping into the company and heading straight for the CEO's floor where her office was located.


" pheww.. thank God he is not yet here" I said to myself silently before going into my office. I met some files on my desk which I think Mr Gray left for me before he left yesterday. I have to work on this quickly."i don't want to get on his bad side today also and not to think of the other issue" I thought before working on the files. After few minutes, Sophia heard a knock on the door. "Come in please?" I shouted. "Good morning Miss Sophia" he greeted."Good morning Mr Gray" I replied. " I left those files for you to work on and submit to the CEO himself when you are done working on them. He needs them today, so work on them quickly" he told me before leaving.


I began working on the files and when I was done I went to Mr Leo's office to give him the files. Knocking on his door, I heard his deep masculine voice telling me to come in.


"Good morning sir"I greeted him bowing slightly."Where are the files?" he asked."Here they are"I answered handling the files over to him. "You will be moving to where Mr Gray is while he moves to your office. I can't let my personal assistant stay outside while you have an office. Most of his duties will be handed over to you, like notifying me about my meetings, letting me know who and who is here to see me and running some errands. You will be doing a normal secretary job" he said while checking out the files. " Running errands?" I don't think that's a normal secretary job, I thought. "Alright sir" I replied before turning to leave. "I'm sure you know about everything already, the marriage proposal?" he asked stopping me in my track. "Yes sir,I found out last night." I thought you are smart, why didn't you just work at your father's company?"he asked raising one of his brows." I didn't want other employees to think I got the job because I'm the owner's daughter, I know I'm competent and I can really work hard, so I had to go work elsewhere" I replied."Oh, so you had to come work here. That's good, I can't wait to see your competency" he said smirking. " Make sure you leave the office with immediate effect" he said sending me off.


  I sighed as I got out of the office,I saw Mr Gray packing his things already so I guess he has been informed about the whole thing too. I headed to my so-called office and begin packing my things too. Why did they give me this office if I'm going to be thrown out the next day or is he just doing this to punish me because of the engagement stuff? "Just imagine him taking his anger out on me now, what about when we get married,is he going to treat me worse?, oh no, I hope not" I thought getting scared.


 After getting all my things,I left for Mr Gray's area. We passed by each other exchanging strange looks.


I began arranging my stuffs on the desk when I got to the secretary's area, suddenly before a beautiful lady came towards my desk." Hello, I'm here to see Leo" she said putting on a fake smile which was so clear."Alright ma'am, I'll let him know"I said before placing a call through the Telecom."Sir, Miss..? "Jade" she said. "Miss Jade is here to see you sir"I informed him. "Let her in" he replied before ending the call." He is waiting for you ma'am" I told her smiling too. She swayed her waist left to right as she walked towards his office. "I wonder who she is. imagine getting married to him and he still has some Mistresses at his reach" I thought rolling my eyes before continuing what I was doing.
