chapter 3: Elevator of words

"Tell the finance office to prepare themself for tomorrow's forum, because we have a new management" I said

"Ok atty. Who is this new head of the office?." reena said

"Is this new boss a boy or a girl?" catherine said, with a curious face

"The way you say that. It seem the new chairman is a child" - reena

"You know what I mean, so what's the gender" - catherine

"You will know it by tomorrow, so better prepare yourself with introduction, presentation, etc. etc." - I said

"Oh!, come on. Can we at least have a clue" said by catherine, with a frown face

"Fine, he is a man"

"Oh my god!, is he handsome?. How old is he?. Is he still si–" - catherine

"Catherine!, just one clue!. Now can you all inform everybody about tomorrow" I said, with a loud voice

"Geez, I was just curious. Hmmp" catherine said those words then exit the room

*knock, knock*

"Come in" i said

"It seems you have a better view than my office" - mr. lee

That voice. Couldn't be?. Why is he here? I thought we agreed that we would meet tomorrow. Why on earth is he here at my office.

"Is there something you want here?"

"Oh no, you see. We didn't have a good start. So maybe we could start again"

"There's no need, I was wrong, I'm sorry. I hope there's no bad blood between us"

"No there isn't. But I still want to get to know you better"

"Yeah, we can discuss that tomorrow"

"Umm…. well, my friend just canceled our plan tonight. So I thought you could fill up the spot"

"Well….. I also got plans tonight....with my husband"

"Oh right. Happy dinner" said by mr. lee then left the office with a disappointing face.

Damn what an encounter. At least this time, I was able to manage my anxiety thanks to those pills. I hope he doesn't keep coming down here or else I will have an overdose. After this probably I might seek out some psychiatrist.

I need to manage my anxiety, because I'm gonna keep seeing him from now on.

Time has passed and it is now 7:30 pm. This is the time When my shift is over. Probably felix on his way here. I better exit the building

I pushed the button of an elevator and waited till the number on the screen arrived at my floor. When the door open. Mr. lee is standing inside the elevator. He was looking at his hand then glare at me.

He then change his expression with a close eyes and a smile. And said

"Aleria, it so nice to see you again"

My heart dropped when I saw him. Why on this elevator?. When there are 3 elevators. And why does it have to be specific at this time. He could have left early. Okay aleria, no need to complain about this, let's just resolve this and get out of the building.

"Hello mr. lee. I will just take another elevator. Sorry to bother you"

"What?. There is more space here. I mean it is only me and this elevator can fit like about 10 people"

Damn he is so percistive about this, it will be rude if I deny his offer. And plus it just a damn elevator. It will only take a minute.

"Thank you mr. lee" I step inside the elevator and the elevator door closes. I kinda notice him staring at me with a side view of his pupil. What on earth is he staring at me for

"You know, you can call me christopher by my name. I think that is way to formal. My friends call me chris. Maybe you can call me that"

"Do you dislike me calling you mr. lee?"

"No, but it would mean a lot to me calling me by my first name. If you don't mind"

"I'll just go with mr. lee, so the people do not get any idea"

*silent air*

Damn when does this elevator get to the ground floor

"Hey are you going home?. Maybe I can give you a ride"

"No need to worry mr. lee. My husband is going to pick me up"

"Is that so?......You really have a loving husband"

"And you must have a lucky wife"

"Oh no, I don't have anybody right now"

"Oh really, not even a girlfriend?"

"We broke up a month ago. I found out she was cheating on me. And I kinda feel lost at the moment, still thinking what did I do wrong" said by mr. lee and looking down at the tile with sadness on his eyes

I never knew this side of mr. lee. Maybe I think of him so wrong. I know how it felt to be heart broken, back in high school. My boyfriend for 5 years broke up with me in an instance without even saying his reasons. I think I should give mr. lee a chance to know him better, He may look like the kidnapper but that does not define who he is.

"I'm sorry mr. Lee. it is not your fault" I said it with a soft voice and putting my hand on his shoulder

"You deserve someone better. Mr. lee... the one who is going to make you feel like you are the most important person in their life" I said

"Hmm….. I hope your right"

*elevator door open*

We step out of the elevator and now exiting the building

"I hope you get home safely."

"You too. Mr. lee"

We split direction as he walk toward the parking lot and me waiting for felix to arrive at the dropping section of the road.

Suddenly my phone rang. I checked who it was. And it was felix. I immediately took the call

"Hello felix, where are you?. I'm at the entrance waiting"

"Aleria, I can't pick you up right now"

"Huh? Why?"

"My aunt just called me and my mom is in the hospital. I'm at home right now. packing my stuff"

"Oh my god, is she alright???"

"Yeah, yeah. She is alright but I need to get to the province. I'm sorry aleria that I called you now. I already booked a flight and will be leaving tonight"

"That's okay felix. I'll meet you at the airport"

"Again aleria, I'm really sorry"

"That's okay felix. I love you"

Felix hung up the phone before he could say he loved me back. I call for a taxi to transport me to the airport.

God, what happened. I hope I made it before he leave.
