After resolving the room issue, we started to return back to the room. My Airpods were in my ears but I wasn't playing any music so I could hear all that the girls were saying. I overheard two of the girls admiring my gorgeousness but the one who was supposed to be my roommate remained silent.
I paused and turned around when I decided I had heard enough. They appeared surprised and I could tell that I had caught them off guard.
"You know, I can hear you guys. I wasn't listening to any music," I said, taking the Airpods out of my ears.
"I heard everything you say," I continued, while giving them my trademark sneer.
The girls' faces reddened and I grinned.
"We are aware; you were intended to hear it. Right, girls?" the blonde asked her friends.
The ginger-haired girl only grinned and shook her head, but the brown-haired girl replied,
"Yes, we did".
I shook my head before turning around and leaving. I entered the room and reclined my bed.
Camilla's Point Of View
"You girls are terrible liars. He caught you already," I said to my friends laughing.
"We know," Beth replied laughing too.
"Girl, you're blessed to have a cute roommate," she added.
"Cute? Did you say cute? That guy is drop-dead gorgeous," Gloria said to Beth.
Then she turned to me and said,
"Cam, the offer still stands. You know; the exchange of rooms?"
"I'll let you know if I can no longer bear it living with him. You know how dirty boys can be," I replied.
We talked for a while then said our goodbyes and see you laters before heading to our rooms, after agreeing to meet up in my room for lunch. I walked back to my room. I saw my roommate was lying on his bed. I didn't want to disturb him and bring attention back to me.
I walked around the room; saw the bathroom which had a shower stall. Then I checked the restroom which was the next door after the bathroom. The place was neat and I liked it immediately cos I was a clean freak.
I walked back to where the bunk beds were and my roommate was already up. He looked up at me but didn't say a word before taking his eyes off me again. I decided that if I must live with him, we should at least know each other's name.
"Hi," I said, trying to catch his attention.
"Hi," he replied without looking at me.
Rude much, but no problem; introduction continues either way, I thought.
"I thought since we'd be living together for at least a month, we should get to know each other's names," I said.
"Uhm," he answered, still not looking my way.
I ignored his behavior and carried on.
"My name is Camilla… Camilla Jones," I introduced.
"Okay," he said and there was a brief moment of silence.
"You should tell me yours too," I said.
"I don't think so," he said, got up from his bed and attempting to walk away but then I stopped him with a question.
"If I may ask, why? I told you my name. It would only be polite if you told me yours too," I said.
"But I don't want to tell you my name. Is that a problem to you?" he asked.
I couldn't say anything because I was extremely shocked at how rude he was. Earlier with my friends, he looked really nice but now all I could see was a totally different person.
After he closed the door after him, I scoffed and said,
"That was rude."
I looked up and as if talking to the Heavenly Being above, I asked,
"Dear God, how would I cope with this for a month?"
I sat on my bed and began to play games on my phone to whirl away time. Several hours had passed but then I heard a knock on the door.
I went to the door to see who it was and noticed my best friends were here. They probably came for lunch as we had planned. Just as I was about leaving with them, I remembered mum brought lasagna. The room issue made me totally forget to tell them about it
"Guys, my mum actually brought us some lasagna. I forgot to tell you earlier," I said.
"Really? Then what are we waiting for?" Gloria asked, playfully pushing me aside as she walked into the room.
Beth followed behind her saying,
"I love it when your mum makes food. She makes the best Lasagna."
I smiled and closed the door behind me. I walked back into the room and Beth asked,
"Which one is your bed?"
"The one on your right," I answered.
When I got to where they were, I saw Gloria on my roommate's bed. Before I could say anything, she said,
"So this is your gorgeous roommate's bed?"
"Yes and please get off that bed," I said.
"The bed smells like him," she said.
"And how does he smell?" Beth asked her.
"Sexy," Gloria replied.
Beth and I chuckled at her response. After several attempts, I managed to get her off my roommate's bed and soon we began to eat mum's delicious lasagna.
"What's your gorgeous roommate's name?" Gloria asked, staring at me curiously.
"I don't know his name," I answered nonchalantly, shoving a forkful of lasagna into my mouth.
I looked up and saw my best friends staring at me like I was a ghost.
"What do you mean by 'I don't know his name'?" Beth asked.
I told them what happened between me and him before he left the room.
"Such an asshole," Beth said.
"And here I was calling him gorgeous. Rude bastard," Gloria said, looking really pissed.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Beth, Gloria and I looked at each other and wondered who it was.
