CHAPTER 5 EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

They came back home happily and enjoyed a great time. They had many shopping bags. They rang the bell of the house and waited for the door to open. Their mom opened the door and said "Finally you're home! Thank God! Where were you? I was so afraid that you had lost your way!" "We are not baby mom, there was a crowd so it just got a bit late that's why." Said Alana. "Okay, come in now." Mrs. Arnold said it and got a side from the way and let them come in. They were so exhausted that they went and fell on the sofa. "Now tell me where were you? Why did you take so much time?" Asked their mom. Sierra sighed and said, "There was a bit of crowd and we couldn't find proper joggers for hiking." "Really?" "Yes! Even though there was a pocket taker around, He pocketed someone's cash and we were just afraid of him so it seemed not okay to be there and we got out of there." "Oh! You did well. Anyways, You had too much time, what did you buy?" "We bought everything mentioned in the list like the Torches, the backpacks and the clothes and everything needed for there to live." "That's cool. Ok now you seem to be exhausted, you must go upstairs and refresh yourself." "I think we need to. Okay let us go up to the upstairs and let's change our dress. Is dinner ready mom?" "Yeah it's just about 5 minutes. You must go and refresh yourself. I'm serving dinner on the table." The girls picked up the shopping bags and went upstairs, refreshing themselves when they felt comfortable, they came down and sat again on the sofa waiting for the food to come. Their mom brought the food, dressed it on the table and then called the girls for dinner. "Girls! Please come and have your seat. It's too late for your dinner and you have to leave tomorrow. It's better to come quickly." They stood up and went to the dining table, pulled their seats and comfortably sat on them. They had their dinner nicely and then as usual they took the dishes to the kitchen and the girls washed them together and when they came back and sat on the sofa they looked at each other and talked about tomorrow's trip. They were just so excited for their trip that their faces couldn't drop their smiles. "Hey I think I can't sleep tonight because of the trip. I'm so happy and excited." Exclaimed Sarah. "Oh I will sleep too much so I couldn't go to sleep on the journey because if I sleep I will miss the scenery. I like to see the scenery that will come all the way." Said Athena. "Yeah, you like it too much, I think Athena." Said Alana. "Are you taunting me or committing?"Asked Athena suspiciously. "Okay so we have to wake up at 6:30 then we will leave home at 7:30 we will reach school at 8:00 and then we will leave at 8:30." Explained Sarah. "Hey! hey! What will we do in the remaining 30 minutes?" Asked Sierra. "Obviously, We will refresh ourselves and check out the vehicles and Etc. This is what we do."said Sarah "Oh I see. So it means we are going to have a wonderful Journey. Right?" Said Alana. "Hey there was a lunch mentioned in the list so what are we going to bring in the lunch?" Asked Athena "if! Mom made us lunch" Asked Elena while looking at her mom's face. "Fine I will make you lunch, what do you want me to make?" Asked Mrs Arnold "We want chicken lollipops and lunch." Said Sierra. "What? Chicken lollipops? It will make you ill during the journey. Kindly eat something better and healthy." Said Mrs. Arnold. Athena murmured to herself "what can be healthier than ice cream?" Sarah looked at her with an angry face and said, "you said that you will never eat an ice cream do you remember this?" "When did I say this?" Said Athena making a face as she doesn't know anything. "Okay! okay! I'll make you chicken lollipops and ice cream, both." "But how will we eat that ice cream? It will melt on the way." Reported Elena "it's not my matter you can have it first before it melts." "It's better not to have ice cream then, right?" Said Elena. "Yeah, so we want something other than ice cream. We need to bring along something else. Like chocolate milk! how's it?" Asked Sarah? "Good choice." Said Sierra. Mrs Arnold said "yeah it's cool and it will not melt or something would happen to it. Then it would be better that you bring the chocolate milk with you." "Okay so final! We are going with chicken lollipops and chocolate milk. So lunch is done! Everything is done! So what's the next step we should take?" Asked Elena "You should go and take a rest." Said their mother, then girls looked at each other's face and said, "It's okay, fine it's going to be 9:00 so we need to be on the bed. Right? Okay give us permission to go. Lazy bees in action! Okay see you tomorrow!" Said and hugged their mom "love you! sweet dreams!" wished their mother and then everyone went to their room line wise. They made an evil face looking at each other because there's no one there and they were going to enjoy a pyjama party in the room organised by themselves. "Pyjama party girls!" Alana. They came inside and then closed the door looking outside and then they set up their room. Their room was kind of big. The room had a double bed having a soft mattress and a white bed sheet and pair of pillows. There was a dressing table beside it, and a study table in front of the bed. The room had five lights that looked beautiful. It was big enough for the girls to have a slumber party. They had fun till the night they could. "Hey, I haven't ever dreamed that we can have a slumber party together?" Said Sierra "I didn't expect it either. let's expect the unexpected." "Yeah! oh how cute, little, sweet gathering!" Adored Sarah and made a cute face. Sierra said "Are we going to sleep together?" "So we're going to sleep together.huh?" Athena smirked. "Dirty mind! Dirty mind! Dirty mind! You are always dirty minded." Said Athena. Alana secretly picked up a pillow and then hit Sarah and then like this they jumped into a huge, Savage, slumber party they kicked, jumped, hit each other with pillows. They had a lot of fun and then laying on the bed they talked too much till 12:00 p.m. They talked about the journey and about their secrets. Literally their foursome was awesome. They laughed, giggled and then went to sleep. The night went and the day came when they were supposed to leave their house. They woke up with sleepy, Cutie faces. They stood up and ran towards the bathroom to refresh themselves. They washed their faces so they could see anything. They came out of the room and went sleepily to the TV Lounge. Their mom was making breakfast and she was in the kitchen and she surprisingly said "oh my! You woke up so early I didn't even wake you up. That's good! I think it's the happiness of going on the trip." Said Mrs Arnold. "Yeah we are happy but we are still sleepy. We didn't get enough sleep." Said Alana. Their mom took the plates to the table, looked at them and said "have you been waking all night?" Girls made a shocked face and said "no we were just…" "All right. I knew you would do it because when we were kids we used to do it. Okay, have a seat, I'm bringing your breakfast." Then Mrs Arnold went back to the kitchen and brought their toast and omelette and their favourite chocolate milk. They sat on the chair nicely and had their breakfast happily waiting for the journey to come. As usual they picked up the plates and then went to the kitchen and their mom said "now let me do it, you must go and prepare yourself for the trip." "Let me do it Mom," Aaid Sierra. "No! no! let me do it, you always do it so now let me do it you must go and prepare yourself for the journey you're being late." they went upstairs and dressed themselves up, then they picked their backpacks and went downstairs to the table Lounge. It was 7:45 and I waited for the time to come. They just sat on the sofas and glared so happily at each other and their mom came out of the kitchen and had a seat. Her hands were wet. She cleaned her hands with a towel and kept it in her hand. She was a bit upset because all of the girls were going away from her and the house would no longer be lovable. "Are you upset?" Asked Sierra. "No. I mean yeah, a bit. But don't worry I'll be okay. It's just worrying for you because, you know, I never let you go anywhere that far where you're going." "Yeah, that is. But don't worry, we will keep in contact with you. We will try to do it as much as we can." Comforted Sierra Athena said "Don't worry, we'll take care of each other and will come back soon happily and safely." There was a silence and in that scene the girls stood up and went to Mrs Arnold and hugged her Softly . Mrs. Arnold kissed everyone and wished them best of luck and prayed for them to come back happily and safely. Now it was 8:00 a.m. time to go. They stood up and wished the best luck. Mrs Arnold took them to the door and saw them off. That was a heart touching moment for a mother to let her girls go like this but she was brave and well educated so she understands that it's common. The girls came out of the house. The door was half open and Mrs. Arnold was poking behind the door. Girls looked back and they saw Mrs Arnold waving back at them then they smiled and jumped on their bicycle and ran for their school. When they reached the school, they parked their bicycles, and the guard kept their cycles. They entered the school. There was no one there. There was such a quiet place there, so they went to the main hall and sat there. Waiting for Martha and John. "Hey there's no one here!" Said Sarah. "It can't be, there will be someone in here." Said Alana Athena then said, "Yes she's right if no one is here then the guard will never let us come in because he knows that we can't enter here until there's someone in the School." They looked around and noticed Martha's voice. Finally they found Martha and went there. They waited along with her for John to come and pick them for their way. "So you came here at the right time! and have you brought everything mentioned in the list?" Asked Martha. "Yes, we brought everything you said." There was silence for a while and then footsteps fade in and when the food steps came closer John appeared. "Hey everyone! Are you already here?" "Yes we were waiting for you, sure." Said Martha. "Oh really? Okay, so it's going to be late. Is everything okay? Have you brought everything we mentioned in the list? Is everyone ready to go?" "I think we are." Replied Alana "So what are you waiting for? Come on!" They came out of the hall and then they came near the van with their bags and stuff. John checked the van and started it and said "everything is alright. Come on, give me your bag." He took the bags and put them in the back of the van and said, "You're ready to go,step in." Suddenly the weather turned so bad and started heavy rain. John said, "Go! Go! Go inside everyone. Everyone ran back to the school. They sat there and were sad because of the rain. There were chances to cancel the trip. "Oh my God, what happened to our trip? Is it going to be cancelled? Asked Sierra. "I don't know if the rain keeps going on like this. I have to cancel it." This broke everyone's heart "but we're not going to give up! We hope to banish this problem. Keep your hope up and everything will be alright," Said Sarah. "Right, we are going to enjoy the journey together. May it come true." The rain was still dropping on the ground and there everyone was hoping and praying that the rain would stop and they would go on their Journey. "Oh God please! please! please! stop the rain. I can't cancel my trip." Begged Sarah. This was unexpected. Let's see where it takes them.
