Chapter 15

On the second day, the sun sagged with clouds again. Everyone woke up but not looking at the clouds. However, it can't be the reason to jolt their day.

"Ah...not again..." wained Sarah

"What happened?" Asked Sierra coming out of the cabin and tying her hair.

"Look at this damn sky, Man! Why? God, Why? Why is this supposed to happen NOW?" said Sarah

"Even the sun doesn't want to look at you."

"Yes. Because I'm hotter than the sun." Smirked Sarah

"I see..." Sierra squinted her eyes

"Achhu!" Alana came out of the cabin surrounded by a blanket, socks with slippers, messy hair, and sleepy eyes - as ever.

"Look at yourself, What are you wearing??" asked Sarah making odd faces

"It's - Achhu! - a bla- a...a...Achhu!" Said poor Alana with a flowing and red nose

"It's what?" said Sierra sarcastically

"Bla-chu?!" laughed Sarah

"Shut up. Where is everyone?"

"Sorry...Sorry," They tried to control their laugh and speak properly "Everyone went to get the woods. Athena went along." Said, Sarah

They came back and prepared for the breakfast. Alana was sitting aside while everyone was active

"What happened to your face?" asked Martha

"Flu..."

"I told you to cover up yourself with a blanket last night. Look, what happened? now I will make you an herbal tea. after finishing it you'll feel better"

They ate breakfast and sat around the fire log. They decided to venture deeper into the jungle.

They followed a trail that led them to a little waterfall, where they gobbled some time taking pictures and enjoying the cool misty spray.

"Look at this watuh fail!" said Athena taking pictures and making a vlog on Sierra's cam but Sierra was behaving like a scared cat

After that, they decided to explore a nearby cave. It was dark and spooky inside, but they were excited to see what lay beyond.

As they made their way through the cave, they heard the sound of distant thunder. They realized that it was going to rain soon and decided to head back to their campsite before it got too late. They were heading back but it was already getting dusk.

They went and quickly prepared the food.

They hurried back to their tents and huddled inside, hoping the rain would stop soon. But the rain slapped into their faces. It was getting full of road flooding.

The rain continued to pour down for hours, and as the night fell, it intensified. The wind started to pick up, and the trees started to shake. Ms. Martha and John tried to reassure the girls that everything would be fine, but they could tell that everyone was getting anxious.

"Would we be able to go home?" Asked Sierra worriedly

"What are you saying? Don't worry! Keep the faith" Nurtured John

"How about playing board games to steer our mind off the rain?" expressed Alana

"Smart..." Said, Martha

They sat down and played cards. Twitter was feeling very uncomfortable, pacing restlessly and scratching the door of the cabin.

"What's the matter, Twitter??" Sarah played the cards and asked her sweetly

She came and rambled around her with a wagging tail.

"Ah...Sir," Sarah asked for John's attention

"Yes?" everyone looked at her

"Should I take Twitter out for a stroll? Looks like she's giving off those 'I'm holding it in' vibes. Maybe she's hinting at a litter mission?"

"But it's rainy outside"

"I can't let her do it here!" sneered Athena

"Take her outside" suggested Alana

"Remember to come back quick!"

"I'll do a break too," said Sarah

"Take someone else with you." concerned John

"Take me as your responsibility" Said Sierra

"Alright, Come!" smiled Sarah

They went to the public toilet cabin which was totally disorientated and decayed. Sierra went in and came out as quickly as she can

"What happened?" Sarah Chortled

"The Cabin was about to fall for me."

"Uh huh" Sarah chuckled

"Where's Twitter??"

"She's doing her job back there." She pointed at her backside

"Let's head back." Said, Sarah

"But twitter?"

"She's got the homing instinct, just like her clever momma. She'll find her way back!"

"May you be blessed with some common sense."

They went back to the cabin and left Twitter in the dark heavy rain.

Looks like Twitter got the invisibility cloak – they completely forgot she was outside...

As they replayed cards, the rain continued to pour down. The wind picked up, and the trees started to shake again.

Alana looked outside, her eyes wide. "Is it just me, or is it getting worse?"

Martha tried to reassure her. "It's just a bit of wind, Alana. We'll be fine."

But the wind grew stronger, and the rain came down harder. The girls huddled closer together, their nerves on edge.

"Oh no!" Sarah triggered

"What?"

"Twitter's outside. Lemme bring her back"

"No, Sarah!!" Martha stopped her but she headed out to bring her kitty back

"She'll be fine. Twitter was just behind the cabin," said Sierra

"But stepping out in this weather is challenging"

*******

"Twitter! Twitter!" Sarah hollered, turning the forest into an unintentional bird social event.

"Bravo! Twitter has gone on a spontaneous adventure of her own!" Sarah emitted a laugh infused with exasperation.

"The encroaching lateness of the hour, coupled with the absence of Sarah's return, is inducing a creeping sense of trepidation within me," Martha expressed with a tinge of anxiety.

Suddenly, there was a loud crack, and a branch fell from a nearby tree, narrowly missing their tent. They all gasped in horror.

John stood up, his voice firm. "We need to get out of here. We can't stay in this cabin any longer."

Martha's voice was laced with panic. "We need to find them. We can't leave them out there in this weather."

"Remain here, everyone. I shall go verify their well-being."

"But being out there all by oneself carries its own set of risks and dangers..."

"Fair and Fine, let's go."

As they assembled an intrepid search party and plunged into the heart of the jungle, rain poured like a drummer's crescendo. Vision obscured by torrents, and progress hindered by the clingy mud, they began to wonder if the jungle had decided to play hide-and-seek in its own mischievous way.
