Chapter 38: Greg's POV

It was Gina who opened the door when I arrived at the apartment.

"Hi bro." she greeted me with a kiss.

"Hello how are you?!"

"Good and you?" I followed her to the living room, and we settled on the sofa.

"Well listen, I'm not complaining about anything."

"Oh I'm sure of that." she answered that in a teasing tone. "Meg is getting ready, I think she's almost done."

"Before she comes, how did you convince her to help you with the association?" I was so curious to know, I knew that Meghan thought that the reason why we asked her to work on the project was because we wanted to help her financially and she did not want us to.

"That's my own little secret." she winked at me, I wanted to keep begging her to tell me but at that moment Meghan entered the living room.

"Sorry, that I have kept you waiting." I watched her approach me and I got up to kiss her. As soon as my lips met hers, Gina cleared her throat. I rolled my eyes as I interrupted the kiss, and Meghan smiled. I looked at her from head to toe. This woman will never cease to amaze me. She was wearing a hole jeans and an oversized T-shirt and sneakers. Her hair was tied in a messy bun. And what amazed me the most was that she was beautiful even like that.

"What? What I'm wearing is inappropriate? You want me to go change?"

"No no, you're perfect."

"Okay, I'll go say goodbye to dad and we'll go?!" I nodded and she left. Then I whispered to Gina

"I ask her out, and she comes in jeans, T-shirt, hair up and no makeup." Gina laughed at my surprised expression.

"What do you want me to tell you? It's a change from the other superficial bimbos you used to hang out with."

"That's clear!" I was pleasantly surprised. Usually all the girls I went out with were girls who like to show off a lot, and for that they made a big deal about their appearance. But she was natural and she remained beautiful despite everything.

"You better take good care of her Greg, please don't mess this up." I knew that by that, she meant that if I ever ruined my relationship with Meghan, it could also ruin the friendship that had been created between them, I saw how happy Gina was to have moved in with them, and she was maybe afraid that I could ruin it . Although knowing Meghan, our relationship had nothing to do with their friendship and whatever the outcome of it, it won't affect the affection they have towards each other.

"I promise to do my best." I also really wanted it to work between Me and Meghan. It was the first time I felt this good with someone, and I intended to make it last. After that Meghan came back to the living room;

"I'm ready! Can we go?!"

"Yeah." I got up from the sofa and we said goodbye to Gina.

"Enjoy." she screamed to us the moment we were getting out of the apartment.

"So you're not going to tell me where we're going?!"

"No, you'll have to be patient." She must have hated being in the unknown, if there's one thing we had in common, it was that we both always liked to be in control of everything. I appreciated the fact that she did the effort of letting herself go anyway.

During the whole trip she begged me to give her a hint of where we were going almost a dozen times, but I refused each time. She then ended up giving up and the rest of the way we talked about music. She teased me by telling me that I was listening to old people's music. That I had to be modern, and she made me listen to the music she liked.

"Are we getting there soon?." she asked me after half an hour of travel.

"Yes, in about ten minutes." She looked away at the road, and then I had a flashback to the evening when I found her on the road and offered to take her to Skylight. I smiled at the memory, and she noticed.

"Wha?!" she asked me.

"I just remembered the first time you were in my car."

"Oh gosh!." she burst out laughing. "You were so weird, you weren't saying a word and I ended up falling asleep in your car."

"It wasn't my fault, I was intimidated and didn't know what to say."

"You intimidated?! Are you kidding me?" she was still laughing.

"I swear it was the first time I was in front of someone and I didn't know what to say."

"No, I'll take you there." she imitated my voice and grabbed my arm. I laughed at the memory. "But what got into you? At the time I was scared and started thinking; what if he's a serial killer."

"Seriously? Did scare you that much?" I was ashamed of the behavior I had displayed. I looked at her to see if she was serious. But I saw that she had said that in a humorous tone.

"No,but I found you a little weird anyway "

"I don't know what got into me either, you were going out, and I didn't want you to leave, I wanted to stay with you as long as possible." When I said that, she stared at me for a moment, and I looked away from the road. Our eyes met and without saying anything she winked at me and I did the same. We stared at each other for a few seconds and she looked away.

When we approached the park entrance she read the sign.

"Matheson Hammock Park, it's been a long time since I've been in a park." I know she didn't have much free time. It pleased me to see that she was amazed to be here.

"Have you been here before?"

"Nope."

"It's beautiful, you'll see."

We ventured into the park entrance to the parking lot where I parked the car.
