Chapter 18

Claire was pacing around in the room nervously, she had no idea what was going to happen in test, 'Were they planning to ask them some questions.' or 'Are they planning some kind of physical test.' Claire thought and took a deep breath trying to calm herself.

She glanced at Jasmine, who was sitting on her bed busy in her own thoughts, "What are you thinking about?" Claire asked her, but Jasmine didn't even glance at her, Claire sighed and walked towards her, she bend down and shouted loudly, "Jasmine." Near her ear, Jasmine screamed in fear and got up from the bed, because of the loud voice.

Claire laughed at her scared expression, even though she was tensed because of the test, but for a second she forgot about it, "You crazy girl." Jasmine said, keeping her hands on her chest, "Why did you do that!" Jasmine said, sitting on the bed.

Claire chuckled and sat down beside her, "What are you thinking about?" She asked, Jasmine took a minute to reply she wasn't sure if she should tell Claire about Jake or not, "Just tell me." Claire said.

"I think Jake is behaving weirdly." Jasmine told her, "Of course he would after you told him about me." Claire said, rolling her eyes, Jasmine told Claire about meeting Jake with Austin, and how he looked very shocked about confused.

"No, I don't think it's about that." Jasmine said, "Then what?"

"I'm a bit suspicious." She said, making Claire confused, "Suspicious about what?"

"When Jake saw Austin, he didn't ask me who he was..." Jasmine recalled, "Then what he asked?" Claire was getting very curious, "He asked me why he was here." Jasmine replied, Claire frowned 'Why would he say that.' Claire thought.

"It was like he already knew him." Jasmine said, "Maybe they already know each other." Claire said, making Jasmine nod, but when she notices Claire deep in her thoughts, she shook Claire lightly, making her snap out of her thoughts.

"Let's not think about that now." Jasmine suggested, "Well you already made me think about it." Claire said, making Jasmine feel a bit guilty, "Okay, so tell me what you think there will in the test." Jasmine tried to change the topic, Claire groaned when she heard about the test, "Don't even talk about it."

"I have no idea what is going to happen." Saying that Claire lied down on the bed, she didn't care if her perfectly braided hair were getting spoiled, she was wearing a baby pink knee length dress, Jasmine forced her to wear it, because she wanted her to look, presentable today.

"I think we should go down." Claire said, she thought maybe all of other girls were ready for the test. Both of them went down, when they were in the living room, Claire saw Sarah standing beside some girls, Sarah gave her a smile, but Claire ignored her.

Claire saw Austin entering the mansion, he was looking, a bit tensed this was the first time Claire has seen him tensed. All the girls started asking him about Jason, why he still wasn't here, "Girls, I'm sorry but today's test is cancelled." Austin announced and started to leave.

Everyone was shocked at his sudden announcement, Claire ran towards him, "Austin wait." Claire said, as she stood in front of him, blocking his way.

"What is it Claire, I'm in a hurry." Austin said, he was looking very worried, "What happened, is everything okay?" Claire asked, even she didn't understand why she was feeling tensed, 'Maybe just curious as always.' She thought.

Austin was taken aback by her question, Claire could see, he was debating whether, he should tell her or not, "You can trust me." Claire said, "Well, don't tell anyone..." Austin said, making Claire nod.

"Jason's grandma met an accident." Austin said, Claire widens her eyes in shock, for a second she thought he was joking but when she looked at his face, she knew he wasn't joking. "Is it serious."

"No, she will be fine." Austin said but his eyes were a bit watery, he gulped and said, "Don't worry, we will make sure she will be fine." Austin stated, he noticed Jasmine was standing beside Claire, "Can I come with you." Claire suddenly asked, even she had no idea why she did that.

"No, you can't." Austin said, he knew Jason would be mad if he saw Claire in the hospital, "But why?"

"Because you are just a participant." Austin said, he knew that was harsh but that was the truth, Claire was a bit hurt, but she knew he wasn't lying that was the truth and he was right, "Let her come with you she will do no harm." Jasmine said, for the first time between them.

Austin groaned, he was getting late, and the girls were not ready to understand. He sighed and said, "No Claire, you can't, Jason will kill me, if he saw you there." Austin said, he gave a last look to both of them and left.

Claire saw how all the girls were busy, some were irritated because the test was cancelled, some were looking relaxed, "Don't think too much about it." Jasmine said, Claire nodded her head, but she couldn't stop thinking about it.

She was sitting in her room all alone, Jasmine had left, just a while ago, 'Will his grandma be, okay?'

Claire thought, her mind was not letting her live in peace, so she decided to go to the garden. She saw all the beautiful flowers and smiled, Claire sat down on a chair that was near her, "Did you hear, Mrs Kenwood, had an accident?" One of the staff who were watering the flowers said, they didn't notice Claire was sitting on the chair behind them.

"I did, poor her, hope she gets well." The other one said, Claire got up from her chair and went towards them. "You shouldn't gossip in a place where anyone can hear you." Claire said, making them jump.

They looked shocked when they saw Claire, "W-We-" One of them tried to say something, but Claire cut her off, "You don't have to explain but be careful next time, if I hear you gossiping again-"

"That won't happen." The other maid said, Claire gave them a glare before leaving from there, her mood was worst then before.

"She is perfect, I guess Mrs Kenwood was right." Phil said, looking at Claire with a smile on his face, Austin nodded, he had a smirk on his face, "Grandma is always right."
