Chapter 24

Jason was waiting for Austin's call, he has told him to keep an eye on Jake, he really doesn't like Jake.

He remembers the conversation he had with Austin, he asked him, "Why do you want me to keep an eye on him, you can easily ask any of your bodyguards or heir a detective!"

Jason agreed that he could do that but, any of the guards or a detective couldn't do what Austin could, and Jake was smart enough to know if someone was following him, Jason just asked him, "Will you do it or not?"

Jason's phone rang, he picked it up without looking, he knew it was Austin, "He definitely likes her a lot!" Austin says, making Jason frown, "What makes you think that?" he asked, it wasn't like he didn't knew about Jake's feeling for Claire.

"He was going to tell her about you parents!" Austin replied, listening to his words, Jason blood boiled, he clutched the phone tightly, his knuckles turned white because of how hard he was gripping the phone. 'You just crossed the line, Jake.' Jason thought.

"Hey, Jason are you listening?" Austin's voice brought him out of his thoughts. "Hmm."

"So, what are you going to do about it?" Austin asked, he was a bit scared for Jake, he knew that Jason being this quite is bad news for him, "You will see!" Jason said.

Jason got up from his chair, he was heading towards the parking to get his car, today he wasn't going to take any guards or a driver with him, he wanted to meet Jake without a crowd, "Mr. Kenwood, your next meeting is in-" Phil was about to say, whey Jason signaled him to stop.

"Cancel it, I have to go somewhere." Jason said, and walked past him, everyone in the company could feel his aura, which was indicating danger, he told all his guards to stay in the company.

He took the keys from his driver and sat in the driving seat and drove to his destination, his car stopped in front of a lake that was behind his university, the place where he found out the truth, he checked the time, it was eight-fifty in the night.

Jason was still sitting in his car, he leaned back on the seat and closed his eyes trying to control his anger, soon he heard the sound of a bike, he knew it was Austin's bike, only Austin was someone who was crazy for bikes.

Soon he heard a knock on the car's window, but he didn't open his eyes, Austin was glaring at his friend who wasn't interested in speaking with him. Austin aggressively knocked on the window making Jason groan.

He opened the window, glaring at Austin who had a winning smile on his face, but today Jason wasn't in the mode, "I want to talk to you."

"I don't want to listen." Jason replied, "It's about Jake." Austin says, getting Jason's full attention, "What!"

"I think he won't come, I saw him at the bar earlier." Austin said, but Jason smirked, making Austin confused, "As you said he likes Claire so he will definitely come."

They were waiting for fifteen minutes, Austin was taking a nap in the backseat, while Jason was pacing in front of the lake. "I thought you would leave." Jake said, getting out from his car, Jason smirked, when he saw him, Jake was looking drunk.

"And I thought you would chicken out." Jason said, Austin also woke up from his nap, but he was still sitting in the car, "Why did you wanted to meet me?" Jake asked, he walked towards Jason and stood in front of him.

"I wanted to finish our conversation." Jason said, "About what?"

"About Claire, and about you trying to tell a stranger about my parents!" Jason said, he was on the verge of punching the hell out of Jake, "So, now Claire is a stranger?" Jake was amused by his words, "She always was." Jason said, it's true that she is a stranger, just because she is staying in his house for some days, doesn't mean she is someone who is close to him.

"But you are making me have an interest in her." Jason said, making Jake angry, "Don't involve her in this. "He warned Jason, "You are the one involving her in this!" Jason shouted, losing his cool, he was angry that Jake was going to tell her about his parents if Austin didn't stop him, just thinking about that makes him want to kill Jake.

Austin knew this wasn't going to end well, he got out of the car, and went towards them, "Remember one thing Jake, if you try to do something like that again you will regret it," Jason said, running his hand in his hair trying to calm his anger, "And your dumb plans might even make me feel interested in Claire."

"Do you think she will be interested in you?" Jake questions, "If she wasn't why would she be participating in the contest." Jason said, but Jake's question made him doubt Claire's intention.

"And don't forget about you father, he might feel sad if he knew you're working in a cafe." Jason said, it was more like a warning, "How dare you blackmail me. Jason." Jake shouted.

"How dare you talk about my parents when it was your father's fault!" Jason accused him, "Don't you say that Jason." Jake warned.

"You're just accusing him you don't even have proof." Jake said, he is listening to this story, for past two years, "You just don't want to believe it!"

"My father can be involved in illegal work, but he would never kill his friends." Jake said, making Jason chuckle at his words, "You're blinded." Jason said, he glared at Jake for the last time and went towards his car, Austin was just watching the two of them.

"You're surely going to lose." Jason said, making Austin and Jake, confused, what he meant by losing.

"Austin, announce it tomorrow, that Jason Kenwood, will start looking for the love of his life." Jason smirked, when he saw Jakes face went pale,

Austin shook his head when he heard him, so this is his way to show Jake his place.
