Chapter 53

"Jason Kenwood! How could you do that to your father's friend." Grandma Scarlett asked firmly, as she stood in the conference room her eyes daring Jason to deny her accusations.

Jason was shocked to see her there , all the employees were confused at her sudden arrival in the company, Phil was standing right behind her, worry evident on his face, Jason walked towards her and asked in a small voice, "Grandma what are you doing here?"

"Is that important right now!" She responded quickly, Jason sighed at her reply, he turned towards the people in the meeting and apologised, as he walked off with Grandma, he didn't want his personal life to be out in front of his employees and shareholders.

Grandma Scarlett was walking quickly ahead of him, some of the employees were staring at them, shock was evident on their faces as they have never seen Grandma with a scowl on her face, but the second he glared at them, all of them knew they should pretend that they saw nothing, Grandma Scarlett was angry at him, she couldn't believe that he put John behind the bars for three hours.

As soon as they were inside his cabin, Jason made her sit on the couch as he knelt down in front of her and gave her some water, Grandma glanced at his swollen jaw and asked, "What happened to your face?" She asked as the wrinkles on her face became more visible as she frowned.

But before he could answer the door of his cabin burst open revealing Austin who was panting heavily, Jason knew Austin ran till his cabin as soon as he texted him about Grandma.

Grandma Scarlett stared at both of them and nodded her head as if she just solved a mystery, "Oh... so both of you planned to do that to him, right?"

"What!" Both of them shouted at the same time startling her, "Grandma, why would you think that," Jason was aware that Grandma trusted John a lot, as she was not aware of the things he had done, he took the glass from her and kept it on the side table.

He sighed and held her hands, "Don't you think he might have done something for which he was in the prison for three hours!" Jason said, trying to keep the sarcastic tone away.

Scarlett could see the hatred in his eyes as he said that, frankly she wasn't shocked to see the hater in Jason's eyes for him, since that incident he kept his distance from John, but what she didn't like was he was keeping something from her.

Whenever she asked him, he always changed the topic, "Jason you are aware that he was someone very dear to your father."

Jason gritted his teeth, "Grandma he punched Jason!" Austin interrupted them, but he shut his eyes tightly realising what he just said, "What, he punched you, when?" Grandma asked worriedly, Jason glared at Austin who smiled sheepishly.

"Um, Grandma it was just a misunderstanding." Jason assured her, but the way she looked at him, he knew she didn't believe him, "Why don't you ask Austin, he will tell you the truth!" Jason and Grandma turned to look at him, making him extremely uncomfortable, he wasn't good at keeping his mouth shut, "Actually...um, he did...that.. because," Austin stammered.

Grandma sighed deeply and turned towards Jason, "Why don't you just tell me what happened?"

Jason was debating will himself whether he should tell her or not, if he told her what happened, then he might have to tell her everything, which he couldn't do at any cost.

"It was because he decided the girl he wants to be with!" Austin smiled widely as he said that, while Jason groaned at his friend, 'Why does he have to speak when he should just be quite.' Jason wonders.

"What really," Grandma inquired, she looked at them as if they were pulling a prank on her, Jason smiled at her, he knew this was the only way to get out of this situation or she won't stop asking them questions till she find out the truth.

"Yes, and don't worry she is not Sarah." Grandma lightly hit him on his shoulder, "Come on, she isn't a bad girl."

"Grandma, John punched him because that girl wasn't Sarah!" Austin exchanged glances with him, assuring him that this was the best way.

Grandma Scarlett was quite for a minute, she didn't know how to respond to that, "So, he punched you because you didn't choose his daughter!"

Jason nodded his head, she was astonished, suddenly her calm expression turned into an angry one, "How dare he hurt my Grandson!" Her voice laced with shock, picking up her phone she dialed his number, but Jason snatched her phone away from her, hanging up the call.

"Jason give me the phone let me just talk to him!"

"Grandma relax, don't be mad at him, remember he was someone dear to my father." Jason smirked, making her feel a bit guilty, "By the way Grandma won't you ask who the girl is?" Austin asked excitedly, enjoying the look of shock on Jason's face.

"Yeah, I want to know, who is she!" Grandma Scarlett asked, her excited was evident in her voice. Jason shook his head at their excitement, as he took a seat beside his grandmother.

"Let me give you a hint, she is the one, we wanted to pair him with."

Grandma Scarlett kept her hands on her mouth in shock, "Is she the one?" She turned towards Jason and asked, Jason just chuckled at her expression and nodded.

"Oh my God, finally you took the right decision, she said as she patted him on the back, "When you cancelled the contest without telling me the reason, I thought you are going to be single forever, but you just shocked your grandma."

"Grandma really," Jason asked in disbelief, "Well, she will be here soon, so If you want you can wait for a bit to meet her!" Jason suggested looking at his watch. Grandma Scarlett and Austin stared at him in shock, "Stop staring both of you." He said, without looking at them.

Grandma smiled at him, as she took his hand in hers and asked, "You really like her, don't you?"
