Chapter 62

"He said they are waiting for us." Claire informed Jasmine, 'Why would he come here and wait for us?' Claire wonders, "What do you mean by them? Like both of them are outside the apartment?" Jasmine questioned, Jasmine's loud voice snapped Claire out of her thoughts.

"Okay, this is really confusing but we need to leave, or we might get late, don't forget her gift!" Jasmine reminded her.

Claire took the gift that was on the table, in her hands and exited the house, she was feeling happy and nervous at the same time, making it unable for her to hide her smile.

when they were out, they saw a black car standing outside, Jason and Austin were standing beside it, he was talking on the phone while Austin was tapping his foot on the ground impatiently.

Claire was shocked to see a small bandage on Austin's forehead. "Were you talking about the injury on his forehead?" Claire asked, both of them were standing a little away from them.

"Hmm...Why would he come when he is not well." Jasmine whispered to herself.

Jason was talking on the phone, as his back was facing her, when Austin saw them, he smiled, they walked towards the car where he was standing, "Wow, you girls are looking gorgeous!" Austin complimented them.

Claire muttered a small thank you but Jasmine just scoffed at him, "Be honest, you gave the same compliment to how many girls?"

Claire elbowed her, "J, let's not fight tonight."

Listening to the whispering behind him, Jason turned around, "How long does it take you to get ready?" He questioned, still looking at his phone.

"It's not our fault, you didn't say you'll come to pick us up." Claire defended, Jason narrowed his eyes and looked at her, but his eyes softened as soon as he saw her, she was looking beautiful, he was about to say something, but Austin didn't let him, "Oh god Claire, you shouldn't have been this beautiful, look my friend can't help but stare at you!"

Claire blushed while Jason glared at Austin who was busy controlling his laugh, Jasmine laughed making both of them more embarrassed, "I never knew you were so mesmerized by Bella, Mr. Kenwood!" Jasmine said.

"Um... We're getting late, get in the car!" Jason ordered them feeling flustered, he walked away from the embarrassing situation.

"You see he is so shy." Austin pointed out, "Shut up and get in the car before he leaves you here." Claire warned him.

Claire sat in the back seat with Jasmine, Jason was driving today, so Austin took the passenger seat, "So, Claire what in the box, is that a present?" Austin asked, "Yeah, it's a present for her, but I'm not going to tell you what it is."

"Hey, come on, you can tell me, I'm your friend afterall!"

"When did you both became friends?" Jason and Jasmine asked at the same time, "Why can't we become friends?" Claire questioned. "You can, we were just asking." Jasmine stated,

"What did you bring for her?" Jasmine asked, "Well, I don't know about him, but I bought this." Austin replied tapping on Jason's shoulder, "Don't you think she will love my gift?" Austin asked.

Jasmine leaned back in the seat, covering her mouth, as she didn't want to laugh again, while Claire widen her eyes, she knew he was joking, "Austin, do you want me to throw you out of the car!"

"How can you say that Jason, why would you do that to your only friend!" Austin sniffed, faking a cry, Jason rolled his eyes and held Austin's hand squeezing it a bit, making him yelp in pain.

"Damn, it hurts you idiot, can't you see I'm already injured?" Austin said, rubbing his hand. Jason didn't reply and accelerated the speed of the car.

"No, but seriously what did you bring for her?" Claire asked, she was curious about their gift, "We don't need to give her any gift, we are going to her party that's enough for her." Austin replied honestly.

When they entered the club, the neon lights made Claire frown, she wasn't a big fan of clubs, she only went to the club twice in her life.

"I never knew she had so many friends!" Claire was surprised to see such a big crowd, she wasn't a fan of people either, "This is very less compared to the amount of people she knows!" Austin said loudly, the music was so loud that they couldn't hear their own voice.

As Claire was about to walk further, someone held her hand, she turned around only to see Jason holding her hand and glaring at some of the boys.

"Stay close to me." He said, Claire nodded her head, Jasmine and Austin were walking ahead of them, bickering about something again.

They walked a bit further between the crowd, Jason was holding her hand and making way for her to walk, "What is Austin doing?" Claire asked, making Jason notice that Austin was staring at someone with a sad expression.

He turned his gaze towards the direction and noticed Jake was sitting with Isabelle laughing about something.

"She is the one, that came bragging in your company, right?" Claire asked, Jason didn't reply to her and walked towards Austin, he was still holding Claire's hand, pulling her with him.

While Jasmine was confused to see sudden change of behavior in Austin, "Are you okay?" Jason asked, "Yeah, I'm okay, come we should go and meet the birthday girl!" He replied, faking excitement, walking away from them.

"What happened to him?" Jasmine asked, "Don't worry he'll be fine." Jason turned towards Jasmine and asked, "Jasmine, will you do me a favor? Please don't leave him alone."

Jasmine was shocked when she heard his request, but the look on Jason's face said, Austin needed someone, so she agreed and went behind Austin.

After the Little conversation with Jasmine, Claire and Jason went towards a table and sat down, waiting for Sarah to get free from the crowd.

"Jason can I ask you something?"

"Hmm."

"Why is Austin so affected by that girl?"
