Jae-Hwo is Like an Ancient Human

"Since the beginning love has been shown, it's just that the heart is too closed with dislike to not realize it."

_______

"What are you doing?"

Jae-Hwo peeked at my phone screen. Then he asked again, "How to operate this?" ambiguous question. How can he not be able to operate a cell phone when his cell phone is better than mine?

"My Friends and So Young love doing things like this!" I don't understand what he means.

"What are you talking about?" I asked as I put the phone on my thigh and turned to look at Jae-Hwo.

When viewed up close like this, Jae-Hwo's facial skin looks smooth and clean. There are no blackheads between his nose and his lips are always moist with red lipstick that never goes out of style. Please don't compare it with my face because it's very different from his. Geez, what did I notice? I blinked my eyes then turned to take my phone again and play Instagram.

"This!" pointed Jae-Hwo on my phone screen. "Why do so many people create content like this and why do so many people waste time looking at it!" he continued again and this time I just knew what he meant. He should have said it more clearly like this earlier so I wouldn't be confused. Why do I feel that Jae-Hwo's communication is a bit different, maybe this is the impact of studying too much and not playing much but So Young doesn't.

I am being curious. "Jae-Hwo, have you been living in a megalithic ancient human cave all this time and not in Seoul?" I asked him and his reaction made me smile subconsciously.

He narrowed his already narrowed eyes into a line. His gaze was not as annoying as usual because his lips were pouting cutely. Why was he always cute from the start, I became jealous. "I already said, a lot of people spend their time doing things like this. As for me, I don't know how to use social media!" he explained and his bent face became even more sullen.

I shook my head slowly. "As I thought, you do live in a developed but outdated city!" I patted his shoulder which felt hard on the muscles that were formed. Subconsciously, I no longer patted but squeezed his shoulder to feel the tight grip on his shoulder muscles. He looked at me with a look I couldn't decipher because today he was so ambiguous. Very ambiguous, maybe even megalithic humans are not this ambiguous.

"Hum," He cleared his throat and I realized then took my hand away from his muscular shoulders. To divert the atmosphere, I refocus on my phone. "Teach me to create a social media account!" he asked and I was pretty sure he wasn't playing.

"Where have you been all this time? When young people are competing to create content and look cool on social media, where do you go? Cave?" I asked him and grabbed his cell phone which had been in his left hand.

He pointed to himself, "Me? I play a game at an internet cafe when I'm stressed from studying too long!"

Looks like I misjudged it. He is not outdated but an ancient human who plays games to relieve stress. If it is like this, he is classified as an early human who is a little more advanced, meaning not megalithic but neolithic. Or what, yeah. There are indeed early Neolithic humans. Looks like I'll have to read an article on the internet later.

Why did I equate him to an ancient human? Ah, if it's like this, I'm the one who's under stress because I've just been betrayed by that bastard Axelle.

I exhaled. "Okay, let me teach you how to make social media so you can show off there or act cool like the others!"

He shook his head. "I don't want to show off how handsome I am and how cool I am because it's pointless!" Why does he sound so confident when he says he's handsome and cool?

"You can be famous and if you have a lot of followers on social media, you can become a social media celebrity and that can bring in money."

"I already have a lot of inheritance!"

I want to bite Jae-Hwo because his sentence makes me excited. "Okay, whatever and don't follow me on social media!"

He looked at me objecting. "No! I'll follow you on social media!"

I put the phone on the sofa. "I will not help you create a social media account!"

"I'll treat you to a week at school if you help me!" It's a very attractive offer. If it's like this I can save pocket money and put it into a savings account for my future expenses later.

I smiled widely and took Jae-Hwo's phone again. "Any?" I asked because I wanted to be content with cursing Jae-Hwo in return for his ignorant attitude all this time.

He nodded, "Yes, whatever you ask for. As long as it's food and drink. Nothing else!"

"Okay!" How excited I was when I was treated to food for one week.

A tiring evening after archery practice, I open a course for Jae-Hwo, a course to teach him how to play Instagram. He looked very, very uninspired and only nodded once in a while. My mouth feels like foaming explaining this feature that features but the response is very flat. If it's like this, I feel like it's useless to teach him because he's not interested at all. If not interested then why does he want to create an account and ask to be taught? But that's okay, the important thing is that I can get a treat for one week.

With this close, I could feel his steady breathing and his scent tickling my nose. The smell of perfume is different from the scent of other market perfumes. Usually, when I smell someone's perfume, my nose is very sensitive and will get dizzy but not with Jae-Hwo's perfume. The aroma is so calming and not bothersome. I feel like my nose is so picky. I often protest Axelle not to come near me when using perfume because the smell makes me dizzy.

"Try now you make a story!" I told Jae-Hwo and he took his cell phone from my hand then took a picture of my living room wall and posted it on my Instagram story.

"Use a much better song!" I said getting up from the sofa because it was time for dinner.

Yes, our dinner was late because mom forgot to cook and invited Jae-Hwo to have dinner together. After all, Jae-Hwo's house assistant was not assigned to cook, only to clean the house and then go home.

It's really strange not our relationship. I was so annoyed and didn't like Jae-Hwo, now I'm kind to Jae-Hwo but yes, this is how our relationship has always been. Unclear.

"We'll wait for Sis Lovelace first, looks like she's still stuck in traffic!" Usually, we eat first without waiting for sis Lovelace but because today is Jae-Hwo's welcoming dinner, we have to wait for sis Lovelace.

After mom told me that dinner was on hold, I returned to the living room but I stopped when I heard Loretta's screams running down the stairs. Loretta's screams accompanied by a tone of fear and the smell of crying made mom, father and Jae-Hwo stand next to me and look at Loretta who was walking towards us holding her right eyelash.

"These false eyelashes can't come off, huaaaaaaaa!" Loretta cried in front of us.

Our only reaction was to stare at Loretta's eyelashes which did look very thick like a floor broom.

"Huaaaaaaaaa help let go, sob!"

Honestly, I don't know how to help him. While mom and father turned into a panic even dad ran to get the car keys and mom said, "We're going to the hospital now!" Maybe a good solution.

"Let me help you get out and don't have to go to the hospital!" said Jae-Hwo walking over to Loretta then he bent down to look at Loretta's fake eyelashes up close.

"Can you do that?" I asked unsurely.

He glanced over with a horrifying look in his eyes then focused back on Loretta's false eyelashes and invited Loretta to return to her room. My, mom and dad followed them out of curiosity, about how to remove those false eyelashes.

To be continued.
