Chapter Twelve

Starblaze and Karla were scared and very confused at this point, they had never had to go to the principals office in their lives and here they were standing right in front of the principals office wondering what they did exactly to have been brought here.

"come in " said a cold voice, they looked to each other nodding then walking into the room. Once they stepped in a cold blanket wrapped itself around them causing them to stay in their current positions not daring to take a step forward.

"Starblaze and Karla Cernunnos, 12 and 13 years of age, same class am I right?"

"y- yes sir?"

"oh don't be scared it's me, the the school principal" the girls calmed down a little

"so, do you know why you're here?" he asked

"no not really" Karla answered

"well we as a school have some suspicions and would like to confirm these suspicions via some harmless but precise tests"

"what kind of tests" Starblaze asked frowning

"harmless and precise tests" Starblaze rolled her eyes

"I don't entertain eye rolling Stablaze"

"now come forward" reluctantly they did as they were told and went closer to the table. They noticed some stones on the table and wondered what kind of stones they were.

"beautiful aren't they" they looked up at him not replying

"aren't they?" he asked with an arched brow

"yes they are"

"I mean they're different but look just fine" he smiled then picked up one of the stones and twirled it in his fingers.

"so about the tests?" Starblaze asked

"oh yes" he threw the stone at her with lightening speed but she caught it and looked at him raising a brow

"mind telling me what that was for" she asked looking at his dazed expression

"are you okay sir?" Karla asked before catching a stone thrown at her

"isn't it a bit childish to be throwing crystal stones at us?" Starblaze asked with a slightly bored expression seeing as the principal didn't call them for anything particularly interesting

"oh those aren't just any stones like the ones your teachers thought you about" they looked at each other and then at the stones in their hands

"so what kind of stones are they" Karla asked looking at it

"rear stones from a dragons nest" he said standing up while looking at the girls with an expression that didn't really make them anymore comfortable than they already were.

"stones from a dragons nest as in this from the nest a dragon was born in?" he smiled and looked fully at Starblaze

"looks like you've learnt a lot from the books in the library" she looked shocked at his words.

"it looks like you both passed the test" they were very confused

"how did we pass the test, what was the test" Karla asked looking at him with the resolution that her principal was officially crazy

"look at the stones in your hands" they looked at their stones to see that they were both glowing, they made no further comments for a while.

"I would say with all due respect if I meant it but sorry it seems you've brought us here with the intention of revealing the craziness of psychopaths we know as teachers by showing us glowing rocks now we will go back into the real world and hopefully you'll come with us" Starblaze said looking at him with a mostly bored expression and turned to leave.

"oh no you're not going anywhere, you don't understand the weight of this do you girls" he asked smiling

"uh that you need help?" Karla said arching a brow before turning to follow Starblaze out the door, but before they could get close to the door it opened and in stepped two people

"mom? Dad? Where have you guys been also what are you doing here" they got no reply as the two people walked passed them to the principal

"you called us sir?" the girls turned around confused

"yes, they passed the test, you know what that means right?" they turned to look at the girls

"uh what is happening" their dad picked up his phone and placed a call

"they're here at the school… originality confirmed come take them" they looked at each other not understanding what was happening but they knew it wasn't good in any way.

"mom?"

"oh that's right we're gonna have a hard time taking them there while they're mentally and physically awake so I think you should take care of that first am I right?" the girls eyes widened as they watched their "parents" bring out two long metal rods that had some kind of aqua green substance surrounding it like electricity.

The girls looked at the advancing duo one last time before taking of, out the door and out the school with speed like none other. They left the school surroundings without thinking a second time about it or even looking back.

After a long while of running the girls found themselves at their house.

"maybe we can rest" Karla said starting towards the door

"oh no we can't this'll be one of the places they'll look for us, we can only grab a few stuff and get outta here" Karla nodded before going into the house with Starblaze, they went to their room and took a few relevant things, their water bottles, compasses and a blanket, Starblaze took some of her research books, a spell book and a mystical map given to her by Miss Belinda, she stopped and thought of where Miss Belinda could actually be and why she wasn't in school either.

"Starblaze I hear something, we should probably go" Starblaze picked her bag and started downstairs with Karla but stopped

"what"

"come with me" she pulled Karla with her to a room that was quite hidden

"do we really need them?"

"what do you think" Karla thought back to metal rods in the principals office and nodded as Starblaze opened the door to reveal the glowing of two crystal stones, the stones were also given to them by Miss Belinda when they were really little, she said they would help them soon in their life, the stones, she said, were powerful artifacts that would serve as a weapon for them sometime soon. They each picked one and pushed it into their pockets before finally running out of the house. Their timing was perfect, as their parents arrived shortly after they left.

They had been moving for quite a while trying to get as far away from their parents and the principal as possible. Soon they got tired eventually and stopped running at some point.

"I think we're far enough we should rest" Starblaze said slowing to a walk, she wasn't panting but her legs were starting to hurt, Karla wasn't as tired either but she did break a little sweat. They started walking the rest of the time looking for a nice place to rest in.

"you know I don't understand what's happening but I really think we should stick together"

"…"

"Karla?" she turned to see Karla gone

"Kar… aghh!" she was grabbed and pulled upwards, she tried to fight but was when she found out who had pulled her

"Viper?, Tatsuya?"
