Chapter 27 TORMENT

TORMENT

Damon's POV

Memories torment, they tear me into pieces.

I walked straight into the house. I was greeted by silence so my eyes immediately looked for Mari, who was taking care of him.

"Where is he? How was he doing all day?" I immediately asked her when I saw her in the kitchen area, cooking food.

"Just fell asleep a while ago, sir, tired from playing. He has some finished drawings, they are in his room," she said so I just nodded.

I didn't waste any more time and immediately went up to his room. I slowly turned the door knob and my eyes immediately caught the two small portrait paintings on the side table of his bed. I smiled when I saw what it was. It's a family portrait. The painting is not well done but for his age, it is very good. He's only 5 years old yet his imagination is unimaginable.

When I looked at him, I saw Ava's eyes again. They both have the same eyes as Ava's–squinting and speaking.
