The Obsidian Sword Laying Waste To All

A discordant chorus of eerie, otherworldly sounds reverberated through the town, emanating from the skies high above, casting an ominous pall over the landscape.

Perched atop the town's protective tall walls, Mei Ling's eyes glinted with steely resolve as she identified the source of the unsettling roars.

"Let us depart, Hei Bing," Mei Ling declared, launching herself into the sky with incredible velocity.

Her raven-haired companion followed closely behind, as the pair darted through the thick veil of mist that obscured their path.

As they ascended, a multitude of other figures from across the town took to the skies from their positions.

These were the people who had taken upon themselves to protect the town. That is right, they were the protectors of this place.

As Li Mingze observed the unfolding events from his vantage point atop the Grand Tower, a glimmer of delight flickered within him.

"You all should witness for yourself, whether he's the one or not," he ruminated, gazing out at the scene before him.

On the terrace of the Hotel, Luo Yin, Mu Kongdong and Jia Lin were surprised by the discordant chorus of eerie, otherworldly sounds that echoed through the air.

They gazed at the skies towards the horizon, sensing an uncountable number of unknown presence lurking high above the town in the dense veil of mist.

"This is..." Mu Kongdong trailed off, his brow furrowed in concern as he peered up at the misty sky.

Luo Yin maintained a stoic silence as he closed his eyes, delving deep into his senses.

As he slowly reopened them, his irises blazed with a fiery, blood-red hue that seemed to pierce through the thick mist like a beacon, seeing through everything within and beyond the veil of mist.

A faint smile flickered across his lips as he extended his right hand to the side, conjuring a sleek, obsidian-hued sword that crackled with dark energy.

The blade thrummed with an ominous power as it hummed to life, wreathed in a shroud of blackened Qi.

Mu Kongdong was taken aback by Luo Yin's sudden actions, his expression tense with alarm.

"What in the world are you doing? You'll bring this whole area down if you carry on like that!" he exclaimed in a sharp tone.

Ignoring Mu Kongdong's warning, Luo Yin looked at him with a level gaze, and then said, "Do what you must," Before soaring skyward, ascending ever higher into the skies.

"What I must, you say?" Mu Kongdong muttered to himself as he thought of what to do.

As Luo Yin ascended, Mu Kongdong sprang into action, casting a powerful barrier around the surrounding area with swift, precise movements that encompassed the vicinity in a matter of moments.

"Ruthless!" Mu Kongdong muttered to himself.

A staggering amount of Qi gathered around the blade of the sword, suffusing the air with a palpable aura of power and menace.

With a flick of his wrist, Luo Yin unleashed a swift and deadly strike, the sword cleaving through the air with lightning-fast precision.

A blinding flash of obsidian-hued light erupted from the blade, searing through the night and rending the thick veil of mist asunder with raw, unbridled power.

As the sword's edge sliced through the mist, a massive swath of the fog was forcefully pushed aside, creating a wide, horizontal path that cut through the previously impenetrable shroud.

As the veil of mist subsided, a horde of otherworldly beings suddenly came into view, their grotesque and fearsome forms looming in the darkness.

However, upon closer inspection, it became clear that each and every one of these creatures had been cleanly sliced in two by the sword's devastating strike, leaving a perfectly horizontal line running through their now lifeless forms.

In the aftermath of the attack, a faint, dark obsidian glow lingered in the air, casting an eerie light on everything that the blade had passed through.

And as the glow faded, the bodies of the unearthly creatures slowly dissipated into nothingness, leaving no trace behind except for the eerie silence that now pervaded the once cacophonous night.

As far as the eye could see, there was nothing left. The sword had wrought destruction on everything in its path. Nothing was spared from its deadly strike.

Mu Kongdong's face showed a mixture of a bit of surprise and concern as he witnessed the devastation caused by Luo Yin's attack.

He examined the barriers he had set up, which had been impacted by the ripples released by the attack, even though they were not hit.

"Thank goodness I erected the barriers. Otherwise, the surroundings would have been obliterated by the sheer force of the attack," he thought to himself, relieved that his quick thinking had prevented a catastrophe. "Sheesh what is he up to? I better keep an eye on him."

"Back in the Alliance, Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivators were forbidden from fighting in cities and other populated places due to the fact that those in the late stages even had the capability to turn hundreds of thousands of feet tall mountains upside-down while utilizing their full potential."

After a moment of reflection, Mu Kongdong let out a sigh and dismissed the barriers with a wave of his hand.

The remains of the strange creatures that had been sliced apart by the sword were now nothing more than dissipating smoke, and the aftermath of the attack had left a profound impression on Mu Kongdong.
