Chapter 5

Sonora's POV:

Today is the day

the day we go to Genovia to train with the Vampire king's warriors

the events of the day before were still heavy on my mind but I had to erase my thoughts for I had bigger things to deal with

I packed 3 bags because I was unsure how long we would be staying for

I went downstairs with my bags in hand and began to walk to the coven house where we would get transportation to drive to Genovia

after my usual 5-minute walk I arrived at the coven house and saw 3 vehicles parked out front

I spotted an SUV and walked up to it as I saw Sage put her bags in the back and I did the same

"who's driving," I asked while putting the last of my bags in the trunk

"um you are" Sage chuckled closing the trunk

"no, thank you," I said as I made my way to the passenger seat driving was not one of my talents so if they wanted to end up in a tree River was the best option

"Tell River to do it!" I popped my head out the window and shouted

with the door closed I rolled up my window and rested my head on it

then I heard Sage shout" River you're driving!"

after a couple more minutes the others arrived and we were ready to be on our way

River got up to the driver's seat and the rest got settled in the back and then we were off to the king's court in Genovia

as we drove off the chatter instantly began

"River could you change the music this country shit is hurting my ears" Viva called out from the back

"oh you want me to change it"

"yes change it"

"oh okay," River said as he turned the volume up

and I began to laugh as I heard Viva's stream of curse words

this was something I enjoyed spending time with the people I consider family

Sage and Tarian were in the back bickering

Viva was still pissed off with River

Amira was sleeping

River's face was smug as he successfully pissed off Viva

and me

I was sitting quietly listening and taking in everything around me

"Nora, you're so quiet up there are you okay?" Sage asked with concern

"I'm okay just lost in thought"

and she hummed with understanding

and with that, I closed my eyes and allowed the time to pass by

I was hovering above the ground

I could see werewolves

vampires

witches

warlocks

all bowing before me

and he was there the dark figure standing in the middle

and suddenly it was in front of me his-

"Sonora wake up," Amira said as she shook my body

I got up startled my breath heavy

"we're here"

and I looked around to see beautiful Genovia

The castle's moat, shimmering under the sun's gentle rays, reflects the surrounding landscape like a liquid mirror, guarding the secrets held within

and its architecture was none as I've ever seen it

the courtyard was a big open space surrounded by beautiful flowers of all kinds

Genovia was a true beauty

I got out of the car to see all the warriors talking amongst themselves

I walked to the trunk and took out all my bags and turned to face the castle

"hello Sonora," a stomach-churning voice said from behind me

"Goodbye Rhian," I said and started to walk away

"don't walk away from me," he said as he aggressively grabbed my arm causing me to turn and face him

I raised my arm and gave him a solid punch which sent him flying back a series of gasps followed after

"don't you ever put your hands on me again," I said lowly and turned to walk to the entrance of the castle

"what was that about," Tarian asked as I met up with them at the entrance

"I'm getting married to Rhian," I said with a deadpan expression

all 4 jaws dropped to the floor

"what the fu-" Sage started but was interrupted by a deep unfamiliar voice

"hello warriors Welcome Miserth Coven the King has some important business to take care of so he will not be here with us today"

the man was a brunette with a sharp jaw, hazel eyes, pale skin, and thin-lined lips

"I am his second in command Simmón I will be showing you where you will be staying for the coming weeks"

he ended his statement and led us inside

The heart of the castle, the great hall is a vast and imposing space. Its high ceilings are adorned with elaborate tapestries and chandeliers, while torches and candles flicker on the walls, casting a warm glow. An immense fireplace stands at one end, its mantle decorated with crests and coats of arms.

he then led us up a grand staircase guiding us to the living quarters

"The males will settle on the upper west side and the females on the upper east all are allowed to pick their rooms. At 7:30 we will be hosting a dinner introducing you to the Miserth warriors" he said and then left

and I stood there in silence observing and taking in my surroundings

I walked to the end of the hall and opened to door to reveal In the center of the room an enormous, four-poster bed, draped in rich, velvet curtains of regal colors, such as deep purples, velvety blues, or elegant golds.

there were finely-crafted wooden wardrobes adorned with silver or golden handles.

The bedroom's windows are tall and arched, allowing the natural light to filter through silk or velvet curtains, embellished with delicate embroidery or lace. The view outside revealed the breathtaking scenery of the castle gardens, vast landscapes, and the grand courtyard where the kingdom's banners flutter in the breeze.

overall this bedroom was the finest on which I laid my eyes upon

I placed my bags on the floor and jumped into the shower

preparing for what the rest of the day would bring.
