Antony did not want to go back to Rome these days because he did not want to leave Cleopatra VII! So he simply stayed with Cleopatra VII in the palace. Occasionally Antony would do something romantic for the Queen!
One day Antony prepared an elaborate bouquet of beautiful roses to give to Cleopatra VII as a gift.
"You see, I have prepared your favourite roses especially for you! The roses I gave you contain my true love for you, not unlike the roses in your palace!" Knowing that roses were one of Cleopatra VII's favourite flowers, Antony chose a bouquet of roses especially for her.
Cleopatra VII saw a large handful of roses wrapped in various colours and a sweet smile spilled out of the corners of her eyes. "Thank you, Antony! Why did you give me these roses of many colours?"
"Because I know roses are one of your favourite flowers, and I wanted to give you all the most beautiful roses in the world! But I didn't know what colour roses to choose? So it was just a case of choosing a few of each colour!" Anthony said with a somewhat embarrassed smile.
"Do you know what all the different coloured flowers mean?" Cleopatra VII said with a staged smile.
"No idea! For me, the roses I gave you mean I love you!" Antony put his arms around Cleopatra VII's waist and joined her in admiring the roses held in her hands.
"Pink roses mean: the desire to be flooded with passionate love with you. Pink roses represent touching, a declaration of love, remembering in your heart, first love, special care, and love for your bright smile.
White roses with the language of flowers: angel, stands for holiness, kindness, beauty, respect, honesty, pure love, willingness to give all for you, nobility, wisdom, purity, innocence, naivety, I am good enough for you. Our love, with the blessing and protection of the angels, will not only be pure, it will be eternal.
The flower language of red roses is passionate love and the symbolism of red roses is that I love you. Red roses represent: the desire to be flooded with passionate love and steadfast love with you.
There is also a romantic love story about the red rose flower.
In ancient Greece, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, was the most beautiful goddess of all and even Zeus, the king of the gods, fell in love with her. But Aphrodite was secretly in love with the beautiful young god Adonis and refused Zeus' love. Aphrodite was so distressed that he forced Aphrodite to marry Hephaestus, the ugliest of the fire gods, because he could not have her. But then something unfortunate happened. One day Adonis was out hunting and wounded, bleeding profusely, when he uttered a miserable cry - Aphrodite! Hearing her lover's screams, Aphrodite dashed to Adonis' rescue! Stones and thorns from the forest cut her feet and hands, and blood dripped all the way. Yet by the time she reached Adonis, he had bled out ... Aphrodite let out a loud cry out of grief, and because of her cry, a bush of bright red roses bloomed where the blood had dripped along the way. Since then, the red rose has become a symbol of steadfast love ..."
"So roses have such a poignant love story? That's even better! I give you the blood and love of my body as a red rose! I will give you all my steadfast love!" Antony listened to the story of Cleopatra VII and was somewhat moved by the greatness of steadfast love!
Cleopatra VII was moved to smile and said, "I didn't realize that you were quite romantic! I have a new idea, I will take a bath with the roses you gave me and let your love into my body, mind and soul!" Every day, apart from attending to political matters, Cleopatra VII's must-do was to take a bath. Her bath was not just a soak in plain, clear water. Her bath water had to be scented with flowers and essential oils!
Cleopatra VII ordered her maids to fill the bath with enough water, to sprinkle it with rose petals, to cover the bed and floor of her bedroom with rose petals, and to use rose oil for skin care and scent.
He and Anthony jumped into the rose petal-laden bath together to enjoy their romance and their world together! Antony held Cleopatra VII in his arms and kissed her, and their passion and love filled the baths and the palace!
