Chapter 8

For an entire week Sam nor Kyle spoke to each other. However, he did find the desert store and entered early one morning when he was going to work. He went to the cashier and bought several dozens of pastries and left. Sam stayed at the back and listened to the conversation and smiled.

Their date at his home was quickly approaching and it made her really nervous. Kyle exempted confidence, stability and he had shown that he could make independent decisions and stand by them. Yet, she was still hesitatant when it came to being with him. Sam's body tried to convince her that she needed to get laid while her instincts kept screaming run bitch, run far, far away.

Kyle on the other hand could hardly contain his excitement leading up to the days to meet Sam and having their next dinner date. As he flipped through the guest list without watching the names. Kyle's parents looked at him in dismay.

The list doesn't seem important to you we see! You don't care who comes or not! Karl said to his son.

Kyle this engagement is quite important to your father and the Craig family! Please take a look and ensure we are not missing anyone. Kyle's mom replied.

Mom, Dad I'm committed to the fact that this union between the two companies have to take place but Sarah and I are two completely different people. We want different things in life! Kyle answered.

So what does that mean? What are your intentions for this marriage! Kyle's father asked as he eyed him.

It means I will marry her but not marry into a relationship. I intend to live separate from her and we will lead our lives accordingly! Kyle said casually.

Kyle Stephens you will do no such thing. I expect you to marry Sarah and take her as your wife and start a family! Karl shouted and glared at his son with menacing eyes.

I will not do that father! Incase you may not know Sarah have been with almost all the men in the entire state and I…

Kyle was suddenly interrupted by the slamming of his father's fist on the table.

Shut your mouth Kyle! I don't want to hear anymore! You will marry Sarah and accept her family and make a man out of yourself! Karl shouted and walked out of the room.

So you both expect me to get married to her and forget about her past that she has! You both have shoved me into this arrangement and expect me to be happy about it? I don't love her and I never will the way you all want me too! Kyle said as he got up and stomped out the room.

Mrs. Stephens remained on the table holding on to the guest list as tears fell down her face. Kyle being so  enraged at his both parents, drove directly to Joe's bar to have some drinks.

Kyle seriously man? That's really how you expected this arranged marriage to work? Hell I could have told you it wouldn't have been that way with your dad and I hardly know the douchebag! Joe said.

This is all messed up from the time you were born Kyle. But seeing that you've been program with the marriage your entire life what can you do other than talk to you father and explain to him that Sarah will not be able to satisfy you needs! Joe continued as he tried to make his friend feel better with some reasonable advice.

Yeah sit down with good ole dad and tell him that Sarah is a whore and that I will need a mistress Joe, like himself! Kyle said as his eyes trailed off into his glass.

It's her, isn't it? Geez Kyle, don't go through with the other dates. Just cut your losses and let her go before it gets too late and you make this bigger than it is! You're playing a dangerous game with this summer fling you're looking to have Kyle and o fear it could blow up in your face! Joe said in a serious tone.

I can't Joe. When I don't see her I feel lost and when I'm with her I feel like I can die from the tightening of my chest. I have to be with her. Maybe after fucking her my feeling will change but for now I want her badly. Kyle said softly.

Kyle but will she want to be with you knowing that you'll be married to another woman in less than three months? Joe said as he turned and took a gulp of his drink.

Kyle got up and walked out the bar without saying anything to Joe. And as his friend watched Kyle leave, he continued to sip his beer, and felt extreme sadness at Kyle's circumstances.
