Chapter 13

Sam and Kyle spoke over the phone briefly for the rest of the week. Sunday had arrived and Sam arrived exactly at two at the Amusement park seeing that Kyle would be later than the proposed time. She got out of the car and walked to the front of the entrance but didn't see him.

She tried calling his phone to let him know she had arrived but it was switched off so she assumed he was still in the meeting.

Sam being the adventurous and impatient person she was, decided to walk into the park and stroll around. And after a while of not seeing any calls or messages from Kyle, she decided to get on some of the rides on her own.

Kyle stood at the Club looking at his parents in anger when the Craigs came in. He greeted each of them and then sat down again. They began speaking about the guest list and had lunch. It was after lunch when Kyle attempted to leave that he was informed of additional plans.

We still have to settle these matter on the food and drinks not to mention the wedding music. Mrs Craig said at the table.

Kyle why don't you sit next to Sarah and discuss some of the decisions that has to be made! After all you both have to get acquainted if you are to make decisions in the future as husband and wife. Karl's mother stated.

Kyle just stood there looking at his mother with utter annoyance and then at his watch. He quickly walked over and sat with Sarah who was skimming through the folder looking at floral arrangements.

So Sarah, how are you? Kyle said trying to break the ice.

Sarah was also beautiful but in a petite way. Her skin was smooth and she had a small waist and long slender legs which complimented her look in the green mini dress she presently had on.

I'm doing fine Kyle and you? Sarah said as she continued skimming through the folder.

Sarah may I ask you a question? Kyle asked softly

Off course you may! We will be husband and wife soon so feel free to ask me anything! Sarah replied and stopped flipping the pages and looked at Kyle.

Are you feeling like we're being pressured into something we don't want to do? Kyle said as he finished the question and watched her fingers go back to flicking the pages.

Father have already made it clear that this is going to happen whether we both like it or not. Not to mention that he made it clear if I do not go along with it, he will disown me and I will have no inheritance. Sarah stated.

But do you want it to happen? Kyle pressed on.

Possibly! I'm not sure at this moment. But my mom says that we are expected to start our family as soon as we're married so maybe I want to start a family now! Sarah said softly.

Kyle swore under his breath and continued to settle the final arrangements with Sarah and her parents. When they bid goodbye, Kyle jumped in his car and sped to the Amusement park.

He arrived there at six thirty and saw her at the very front of the Amusement park sitting on the bench. Her hair was a mess so he knew she had to have already went on some of the rides. She looked sad and Kyle quickly parked and skipped towards her.

Sam I'm so sorry, I tried to get out of the meeting as early as I could! Kyle said as he slowly approached her.

Sam raised her head from looking at the ground and looked at him. He could see that she was mad.

Why didn't you call me back? Didn't you see my missed calls! Sam said coldly.

My phone was switched off and I forgot to turn it back on Sam. I'm sorry! Kyle pleaded.

May I see the napkin please? She asked him and bent her head back down.

Kyle handed her the napkin and she got a pen from her bag. She scribbled something and handed it back to him and he looked at it. Next to the date, which was schedule for today, Sam updated it and scribbled done next to the date.

Sam please don't be like this! Kyle said as he made an attempt to hold her hands as she got up to leave.

Do you feel that you have wealth that you can treat me the way you can and I'll accept it! Why didn't you call and say you'd be later than expected? Or could not make it! Sam said looking at him with raging eyes.

Kyle said nothing.

Forget my number Kyle, I am not the one for you! I'm not going to go through with this anymore! Sam said and walked away to her car and drove off.

Fuckkkk! Kyle screamed and sat on the bench for several minutes clearly annoyed at what had happened. Finally he got up and left for home.

For two weeks he tried calling Sam on her phone but he kept getting voicemail. Kyle was miserable. He longed to see her, to hear her voice.

Sam was filled with vexation towards herself. She had fallen for Kyle and she knew it! Her body was shaking with vexation from Kyle's inconsideration towards her and once again she felt uneasy. She was determined not to go through what she gone through with her ex.

The dishonesty, the unexplained absences, the fights after being asked about his dumb excuses. And if she was being honest to herself, it was what caused the relationship to fail after so many years and the all the emotions attached to the relationship is what almost broke her!

Kyle's late meeting on a Sunday and his phone going to voicemail when she tried calling all screamed, suspicious. She was smarter and wiser now and couldn't pretend that she didn't know what it meant! The sad part of it, was that they weren't even in a relationship. So from that Sunday after leaving Kyle at the Amusement park,  Sam decided to forget about Kyle and she blocked his number.
