For the entire week, Kyle tried to call Sam but she never answered. He wanted to hear her voice and it pained him that she ignored him. He missed her and every time he closed his eyes he thought of Sam.
He was going to meet her tonight and explain the entire situation to her but he wasn't prepared to let her go and he knew that. Sam was his and nothing or no one was going to stop that from happening. He had decided that he was not going to go through with the wedding if she decided to be with him.
As he got ready to leave home to visit the reception area before meeting Sam, he got flashes of the cottage and the burned image into her mind. Sam lying on the bed with her lingerie and looking like a Goddess. He inhaled sharply and put on his jacket. Kyle grabbed his keys and left.
Sam was at the Wimbleton Restaurant ensuring where and how the parents wanted the desert table to be displayed. She spoke to Mr and Mrs Craig and they informed her what they expected. They spoke about their daughter and son in law likes and dislikes pertaining to the engagement. However she was called away to tend to the setting up of the tables for the cupcakes.
She was thankful that she had this job this week from the Craig's because it helped her to avoid thinking about Kyle. Today was there meeting and she couldn't wait to hear his bullshit story. She had already came to the conclusion that Kyle had someone else and that he used her for his convenience. She had to admit however that she'd miss the sex between them the most because it was always electrifying and satisfying.
Then she heard someone called out that the couple had arrived and was about to come in. Grace came to stand next to her and wait for their arrival. As they walked in, holding hands, she saw them before they saw her. They stood talking to the decorators and their parents.
Sam turned around because her eyes began leaking. She got out a nakpkin from her purse and wiped her eyes.
Grace you think you could handle it from her, I think my allegies just kicked in and my eyes can't stop watering. I think its in the air and i dont want to make a bad impression on the couple with leaky eyes. Sam said to Grace half jokingly.
Off course Sam. Been doing this a while now with you so I see no problem. Just keep your phone on so I can call you if anything happens that needs your urgent attention okay. Grace said and smiled at Sam
Thanks Grace, don't foget to ensure you speak to the couple to find out if they want any additional changes done to the display also. Sam said and turned around to leave and that's when Kyle got a glimpse of the back of Sam heading for the exit.
He saw her hair flowing down her back and began following her to make sure it was her but as he attempted to open the door behind her, he heard his father call out to him and motioned him to come.
Kyle signaled him that he was coming and opened the door to see who the woman was but she was no where in sight. Kyle even thought he smelled her fragrance but returned inside and brushed it off as his imaginatión.
Sam sat at the park bench crying uncontrollably. She saw him walking with her and instantly she knew that was the woman Kyle had called her on the phone. Her heart felt like it was ripping apart and she felt weak. Sam's breathing became heavier and her head was dizzy.
Every moment they had together was played back. Thinking, searching and evaluating all the details. How long had Kyle and her been together? How come he could spend so much time with her on the phone and his fiance not question him about it. Then it occurred to her why Kyle's father reacted the way he did at the park when he saw them. And that's why he looked at her that way. She felt angry and hurt, how could Kyle do this to her?
She dried her eyes and thought of what she was going to say to him tonight. She wanted to hurt him a thousand times more as he hurt her so she had to think carefully about what she was going to say to him.
And hour later, as she sat there feeling tired and drained. Suddenly she smelled him. He came to her and sat down. He placed a rose between them and said nothing for a long while but simply stared ahead.
