Chapter 10

As soon as Bella received the location, she immediately sent it to her mother and grabbed her overnight bag and was off. She hadn't driven more than twenty minutes before her phone rang

Hi Mom! Bella answered.

Bella you're going into a Werewolf community that is lead by Alpha Czar. My fellow sister told me that he's one of the most well-respected Alphas in that region. She also said that he is a very fair and a reasonable leader that is not arrogant or hot tempered so I feel much better knowing you're going there. Please take care my darling. Clair blurted out

Thank you mom. I love you and I'll see you soon okay. Bella said and hung up and continued following the location on her journey to the Alpha Czar's settlement.

As soon as she entered the mountains she realized how different the mountains had developed since she was last there. She was more amazed when she saw that there was a college for supernatural beings in the mountains making her instantly regret how long she had stayed away from home.

At half one she had arrived at the main gate and was greeted by a muscular, aged officer that seemed surprised at her appearance whilst he searched her vehicle and took her name and number plate. He then opened the gates and told her to drive directly ahead and she would need to go to the largest building in the community. After thanking him, Bella drove off and saw from a distance a beautiful settlement with medium built cabins, a school, a hospital, several stores, a market and a large concrete building in the front of it. She stopped for a bit as she could not take her eyes of the breath taking view or the way the settlement was so neatly organized.

 As she neared the main house, Bella suddenly stopped a few meter away from the settlement and began to cold sweat. She saw an image flash before her eyes of someone holding on to her tightly to her and loud screaming.  

What is going on with me? Please not now, I'm begging you. Not here! Bella muffled and began her breathing exercises. Finally when she was calm she drove off. Her suspicious action and unrecognizable car caused a stir among the settlement bringing out several onlookers.

Then she noticed several more residents coming out from buildings and stood staring at her as she slowly made her way to the large building. As soon as she had parked in the parking lot, an elderly gentleman in a black suit approached her

Oh my word Miss Martin, times have really changed a lot. Here I was expecting an old, haggard looking woman with thick glasses as the investigator. My name is Giles and we spoke on the phone. The elderly man, who still looked muscular and could probably outrun her, said

Was my voice so hoarse when you woke me up from sleep? Bella asked smiling.

Off course not Miss Martin. I am just old fashioned and not keeping up with the times. Forgive me! Giles answered.

Well thank you for the compliment still Giles. It's a pleasure to meet you by the way. Bella said and extended her hands for him to shake.

My boss is awaiting your arrival in his study so please follow me. The man replied after shaking her hands

Bella followed him and was lead into an immaculate home with minimal furniture but lots of antique sculptors and paintings. Giles took her to a large oak door and knocked and opened the door. Immediately she saw the astonishment on both the matured woman and man's face as soon as she entered the room.

The study, Bella observed, was spacious and neatly furnished with an enormous bookshelf with hundreds of books. There was ambient lighting surrounded by worldly treasures and trinkets and a massive glass window.

Miss Martin it is my privilege to introduce you to Mr. Czar and his wife Jean. Now if you excuse me, I'll take my leave. Giles said and bowed to his Alpha before walking away.

My goodness aren't you the prettiest woman I've seen in quite a while. You could be the same age as my eldest pup, I mean son. Jean said as she approached her and shook her hand

Please excuse my wife, she's always looking to get my son a mate! Czar said and halfway smiled.

No it's okay, thank you Jean. But how can I help you? Bella asked as she sat on the chair opposite the table and took out her recorder.

Our daughter Lizzy and her husband lives next to us and yesterday evening they were attacked. Unfortunately her husband was badly beaten and she was kidnapped. James is unconscious at the moment but we want to find her as soon as possible. Czar said

Is the police involved Mr. Czar? I only ask because there are certain procedures they will have to conduct first before I can begin! Bella asked.

No they are not Miss Martin. This is a secluded, private community that do not allow outsiders in. You are the first outsider to be here in decades and is only here because I want this matter dealt with swiftly but discreetly. Czar answered.

I understand. Was there any contact from the kidnappers demanding ransom? Bella asked as she continued with her questioning.

No, none whatsoever and to be quite honest Miss Martin I expect none. As you may have noticed coming in that our settlement is quite secured from the outside world and because of such, I know the person who had anything with Lizzy's kidnapping belonged to my pack. The Alpha answered and looked directly at Bella.

Who did it or how they did it are things that concerns us but our first priority is getting our daughter back. We don't care how much is cost Miss Martin. We just need her back with us. Jean then added pleadingly.

I understand and can start right away. Firstly, I will need a picture of Lizzy. Then any security records you can provide me with along with the on duty security statements about yesterday events. And lastly, to be taken to the house so I can begin to conduct my investigation please. Oh, by the way did anyone see or hear anything suspicious? Bella asked.

That's the thing Miss Martin, Lizzy lives just next door to us and we didn't hear or see anything that was suspicious. But you can ask around if you choose to, though I must warn you that most of the pack members here have never interacted with a human before and you may not be able to get an answers from them!  Czar said and got up and began to lead her back out the house.

 At the door Giles met them and took over leading Bella to Lizzy's place. He was about to walk away while Bella put on her gloves, when she looked at him and spoke,

Giles, does Lizzy have siblings that live on the settlement with her? Bella asked.

Yes Miss Martin, she has two brothers but they have been staying in the city for quite a long while now and was no where around when the incident took place. He answered.

Okay, thank you Giles. Bella said and spun around and walked through the door.

For the next several hours, Bella stayed in the house searching and taking pictures. A little after six Mr. Czar walked in and announced his arrival.

Miss Martin are you getting through? I brought you Lizzy's picture and the other things you requested.  Alpha Czar shouted.

Bella walked out of the study area towards him.

Mr. Czar everything I say to you I expect you to keep it to yourself for the safety of myself and your daughter okay. Bella said as she opened a bottle of water and took some gulps.

 I understand! He responded as he handed her the envelope from his hands.

Not even your wife or your offspring can know about our conversation as we both know this was an inside job. Bella stated and Czar shook his head as confirmation.

First to begin I know you're a werewolf, Alpha to be exact,  and this is your pack. And from what I've heard from my mother who is a white witch, she said you're a fair and just leader and I want to believe I can trust you. The reason I'm telling you this is because the things that I'm about to tell you are all supernatural but very important to finding you daughter as quickly as possible and bringing her home safely okay. Bella said breathlessly.

Well Miss Martin you have my utmost attention now. Czar answered

Okay firstly as you stated before, this isn't a kidnapping for money so forget about getting a ransom call. The rogues came specifically for Lizzy because I believe she uncovered information about a huge sex trafficking operation judging from some scribbles I saw on a notepad hidden under her mattress. I also believe it involves one or many members of your pack. Bella said.

I figured as much Miss Martin that is why I asked you here. Czar stated.

Well I'm sure it was rogue vampires that came into the house and met the couple however the vampires carried wolfbane to weaken Lizzy and James even though they both put up a good fight judging from the mess. I have two cases at present with missing young women and I believe your daughter fit that description so I want to believe that they would think she's more valuable making money for them than killing her which means that she may still be alive. Oh and I also found these in here so I assume that your house has these too. Bella said and pulled out some electronic bugs from her pocket which caused Czar eyes to open wide.

Find out who is behind this Miss Martin and I assure you they will pay dearly. Here take my card and call me on my cell when you obtain more information. And I assure you that your secret is safe with me. Czar said contented that she was the investigator for some reason.

But I need to ask you how you were able to disguise your scent from me when you first entered my study earlier? He continued.

Long story short I was somehow affected by the asteriod impact so many years ago that it genetically altered some of my characteristics. Bella said softly.

That mishap affected a lot of people in many ways my dear but I'm thankful that you're the investigator in this matter. Have a good night Miss Martin. The Alpha said and walked away.

Bella turned around and got a box of stuff she collected from the house and walked out the house and walked to her car. At that same moment, she felt as though someone was watching her so she immediately turned around and began searching but she saw no one so she quickly jumped in her car and drove away. She had to do a quick check at the main gate once again and then she turned left and headed for her parents place.

When she looked back in her rear view mirror however, she saw a vehicle lights behind her. Her experience from her job and instincts immediately kicked in and she knew she was being followed. She tried to slow down but the car stayed a distance away so she sped up and it still remained a distance away.

Fortunately for her she was accustomed to driving those roads on the mountain so she knew most of the private roads plus she was a witch with supernatural powers so she continued driving at a fast speed and when she passed her parents turnout, well a good distance ahead that is, she pulled into a side road and immediately turned her entire car invisible.

When the black muscle car that was heavily tinted sped by she quickly turned around and headed back to her parents house in the opposite direction. And just as a precaution she parked at the back of the house and entered the house from the backdoor and was greeted by both her mom and dad.

Why you need to park at the back pumpkin? Bella's father asked as soon as she kissed him on his cheeks.

Daddy, I'm a private investigator and you never know who could be looking for me. It's just a safety precaution nothing to worry about. Bella said and smiled

Mom it smells heavenly in here, let's go eat! I'm starving! Bella said as she hugged and kissed her mom.

Yes, let's please go because your mother have been starving me for hours for you to arrive so we can all eat together. Peter said as he immediately got the plates and brought it on the table

Peter, how often does our daughter visit and have dinner with us? Besides you could do with a little starving! Claire said and raised her eyebrows as she began plating their food.

Pardon me? All this here is sexiness okay. Peter teased as he rubbed his stomach and they both watched him and giggled.

Kyle had walked out of the house to stretch his legs and clear his mind. He was thinking about telling Karl and Charlie that they should all go for a run later that night and check around the perimeters to see if they got any lead. No more than five minutes being outside, Kyle saw his father come out of his sister's place and begin to walk to the house.

At that point in time, Kyle really didn't feel like saying anything to him so he quickly walked back into the house and walked towards the kitchen to get a beer. When his father had passed and walked into his study he walked back outside just in time to see Bella coming out of Lizzy's house and walking towards her car.

As Kyle hid behind the columns on the porch, he watched as Bella open her back door and place a box she was holding and then get in the driver's seat. As soon as she drove off, Kyle immediately went into his car and began to follow her. But when he expected her to turn right to go back to the city she turned left and curiosity took over as he continued following her from a distance.

As he drove behind Bella, Kyle instantly remembered when James had said she was mixed with either vampire or witch decades ago  and he was determined to find out which! Was she the Alpha's mistress and was on her way to warn him so many years ago when he hit her and that is why his father pretended she was never there in the car when the asteriod hit them? Kyle asked himself as he followed the car that was now speeding.

Suddenly Bella sped up unexpectedly and Kyle lost sight of her. He kept driving for almost twenty minutes after she disappeared but after not seeing her, he turned around and went back to the main house.
