101. All pain, no gain
Seattle, Washington
Rain poured down as a man ran down the streets in terror. As he ran he looked behind him and saw a man wearing a trenchcoat not too far way walking after him. Seeing this, the man ran into an alley in hopes of losing him but ran into a dead end. The man looked around for some sort of escape but found nothing. He turned around and saw the man in the trenchcoat standing a few feet away.
"Almost had me." The trenchcoat wearing man said. "I've been looking for you across three different states. Never would've thought you'd be stupid enough to come home to Seattle." Thunder crashed and lightning flashed and the man clearly saw his attacker. A tall fair skinned man with a bald head wearing sweatpants with no shoes. Under his trenchcoat he wore no shirt.
"Please mercy." The man begged as the other man approached him.
"Mercy? Nah. Why would I show mercy to you?" The other man asked. "I didn't show mercy to the others."
"Others?" The first man asked fearfully.
"You know, the others. The ones who said I couldn't compete in the Olympics because of who I was." The other man said. "The American judges so to speak. I've killed all but you and then after I'm finished here, I got two more targets."
"Who are you?" The first man asked before being grabbed by the other man.
"Call me Pike." The other man said before a long bone claw popped out of his wrist and through the other man's throat. The man makes several choking sounds before Pike pulls his claw out of his throat and sheathing it back into his body and dropping the body. Pike then searched the body and found a bus pass. He pulls it out and puts it in his pocket before walking out of the alleyway. He then proceeded to walk to the bus station where he climbs onto the bus.
"Where too pal?" The bus driver asked.
"Take me Michigan." Pike responded before sitting down. "Royal Woods Michigan."
Over at Royal Woods Middle School, Lynn is grabbing her backpack from her locker. "I have patrol and I'm somewhat back to full power." Lynn said as she closed her locker.
"Hey Lynn!" Lynn looked behind her and sees Margo walking towards her. "Did you see the game last night?" Margo asked.
"I did, but I missed out on the end." said Lynn.
"Probably good thing you did." Margo said. "Lions lost in OT."
"Aw man." Lynn groaned. "That takes them out of the playoffs."
"Tell me about it." Margo said. "So what's going on tonight?"
"Gonna meet up with Francisco." Lynn said with a blush.
"Your boyfriend." Margo said slyly.
"He's not my boyfriend." Lynn said. "I think. I mean we kissed but we haven't even had a date yet so does that mean we're together even though we haven't gone out yet?"
"What?! You too haven't gone a date yet?!" Margo questioned. "What have you've been up too?"
"I was busy helping out at my dad's restaurant and other things." Lynn replied.
"Look Lynn, you have to go on a serious date with him." Margo told her. "It's the only way to solidify your relationship."
"I guess but he hasn't asked me out." Lynn pointed out.
"Then you ask him out." Margo told her.
"You serious? You want me to ask Francisco?" Lynn asked. "Margo, the girl doesn't ask the boy out. The boy does."
"Lynn you don't have a choice. You have to make the shot or you'll let Francisco go out with some other girl." Margo said.
"Damn it." Lynn said. "I really like Francisco and I like to think he likes me. I have so much confidence in everything else I do but I'm clueless with boys."
"Look I know you can do it." Margo said. "Look I gotta head home. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yeah see you." Lynn said as Margo walked out. "I should probably leave now. I got patrol today." She leaves the school when she suddenly hears screaming. She heads towards the screaming and she sees her soccer coach on the ground with a man in a trenchcoat standing over him. "There's only one guy I know who wears a trenchcoat and that's Replicate. Didn't think he'd go as far as attack civilians to get our attention."
Meanwhile the trenchcoat man walked maliciously towards Coach Keck.
"Thought you could hide from me Keck?" The man questioned as he approached the woman.
"Jerry please." Keck said. "Look I'm sorry that you lost everything but it wasn't my fault!"
"I vouched for you and you turned your back on me." Jerry said. "And don't call me Jerry. It's Pike. I helped you get into the Olympics and your payment back was to say that I was now a freak?"
"Look I'm sorry but it wasn't fair for the other teams." Keck argued.
"Too bad." Pike said. "Now you get to join the others I killed."
"Please no!" Keck shouted. Before Pike can do anything, he's kicked in the side and sent sliding. When he stops he looks up and sees Parkour.
"Ok you're definitely not Replicate." Parkour said. "If I tried that with him, he'd catch me before I even got close. So that being said who are you?"
"My name is Pike, leave me and my friend alone, I'm about to kill her!" Pike replied.
"That's not going to happen." Parkour said.
Pike then grew two bone claws in his wrists. "Leave now and let me finish what I started" Pike replied.
"Again that's not going to happen." Parkour said. "I'm taking you in."
Pike charges towards Parkour and thrusts his wrist blades, but Parkour dodges the thrust and punches Pike in the chest, pushing him back into a wall. Parkour charged towards Pike, but Pike dodges the punch and she made a hole in the wall.
"He's quicker than I thought." Parkour said. "Plus those blades are deadly and sharp. Don't know if those blades can pierce my skin the way my powers are now so I gotta be careful."
Pike stabs her wrist blade at Parkour, but she dodges the attack and punches Pike in the side which knocks Pike to a wall. Parkour charged toward Pike and elbowed him in the chest. "Why do you want to kill Coack Keck?" Parkour asked.
"That's for my personal information only." Pike replied.
"Well it matters to me you Baraka ripoff!" Parkour shouted. She runs up and hits several punches on Pike before hitting an uppercut sending him flying towards the school. However when Pike got close to the school, he shifted his body where his legs were aimed at the school. Once he reached the school he launched himself off the wall and towards Parkour with his claws out.
"How's this for a Baraka rip-off?" Pike said before colliding with Parkour but she still stood.
"That all you got?" Parkour challenged.
"Oh I think I've won." Pike said. Parkour looks at him confused until she sees one of his claws in her chest.
"Oh crap." Parkour groaned as she coughed up blood.
"Not so strong are you?" Pike smirked.
Pike pulls his claw out and Parkour immediately puts her hand on the wound.
"Now for business." Pike said but when he turns around Coach Keck was gone. "Damn. Must've run off. Oh well. I got another target to go after." He then walks off after sheathing his claws.
"Wait." Parkour choked out before trying to go after him but collapses to the ground. "Stop please." She presses her watch. "Is anyone there?"
"Hey Lynn what's up?" Luan answered on the other side.
"Need...help." Parkour choked out. "Help me."
"Ok I'm on my way!" Luan exclaimed on the other side. "Just stay where you are!" Parkour groaned as her vision began to get dark and blurry, and it all went black.
When Lynn wakes up she sees herself in the medical bay of the base, she groans as she gets up. "Don't get up!" Mr. Cuddles said. "You need your rest."
"How did I get here?" Lynn asked.
"Luan found you at the school unconscious and immediately called Soothsayer to come pick you guys up. After seeing the security footage, we called in Bobby, Lola and Lucy mainly for the fact that can cover themselves in armor."
"Oh wow. So a lot happened." Lynn said.
"You can say that." Mr. Cuddles said as he inspected the wound on her chest. "You're lucky Luan reached you when she did. You may not have made it."
"I could have died." Lynn asked herself.
"We couldn't believe it either. You have unbreakable skin and you got stabbed, luckily it wasn't near the lungs or the heart." Mr. Cuddles said. "But this could be the result of you not being at full power."
"I hope that's the reason." Lynn said.
"Do you remember who this guy is?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"He called himself Pike." Lynn answered. "But my coach called him Jerry."
"So the attacker has a real name?" Mr. Cuddles said. "I need to do some research on this Jerry guy." Mr. Cuddles said as he jumped down and walked towards the computer."
"But my coach is in trouble!" Lynn exclaimed.
"We need to find out who this Pike guy is and then save her from this guy." said Mr. Cuddles as he walked towards The computer. "Martha I need to search for anyone named Jerry and cross reference with a woman named Coach Jane Keck."
"Searching." Martha replied. "Found one result. Jerry Winick." Martha placed a file of Jerry Winick along with a picture without the spikes coming out of his body.
"He was a former boxer in the Olympics , until one day in the 2004 Olympics, a spike came out of his boxing glove and nearly killed his opponent. He was stripped from his medals and banned from the Olympics both summer and winter." Mr. Cuddles read out loud. "Martha do a search on his coach."
"Of course." Martha said. "His coach was Joseph Marvin. He was murdered a few weeks ago."
"Hmm. Interesting." Mr. Cuddles said. "Not Keck but still intriguing. Martha see if there are any other murders similar to Marvin."
"Searching." Martha said. "Found several results." Martha then brings up several pictures of different people. "All were stabbed. Four of these people were judges that banned Pike from the Olympics and one was his manager."
"Hmm, but how does Coach Keck fit into this?" Lynn asked from her bed.
"She was his manager at the time." Martha said.
"My coach was this guy's manager!?" Lynn asked.
"It appears so." said Mr. Cuddles said.
"He said he vouched for her so I guess that explains what he meant." Lynn said. "But we need to find him!"
"Lynn we don't know where he is or who he's going after." Mr. Cuddles said. "The best we can do is wait for him to pop up. For now just rest while we wait for Bobby, Lola and Lucy to show up."
"Fine." Lynn sighed. "Hope we find Pike soon."
Pike is walking around the city and he looks around. "Where the hell are you Keck?" Pike asked as he looked around the city. "I better find her before she goes to the cops."
He sees a large building that says 'Tetherby Industries'. "Tetherby? My old sponsor who dropped me as soon as he discovered I was a meta." A smile forms on his face. "Time to pay Tetherby a visit."
Tetherby is in his office on the phone. "So what's the status on our other projects? When will they be ready to take down the L-Crew?" Tetherby asked but before he can get an answer he hears a tone on his phone. "Hang on I have another call." Tetherby said as he hung up on the first call. "This better be important."
"Sir there's a maniac in the building attacking the guards!" The person on the other end said.
"What?" Tetherby gasped. Suddenly the door crashes in and a man in a trenchcoat walks in. "Who are you?"
"Names Pike." Pike replied. "And it's time for you to die William Tetherby." Andrew looks at him confused.
"William Tetherby?" Tetherby repeated. However before he can correct him Pike changes at him with two long bone claws sticking out of his wrists. However before he can do something he's suddenly clotheslined.
"Sorry mate but I'm afraid I can't allow you to kill the good bossman." A voice said. Pike looks up and sees Xander standing over him while Helios was in front of Tetherby. "He's paying me good money to keep him alive so I'm afraid you killing him would be bad for business."
"I don't care who you are. But I will not let me revenge get interrupted!" Pike shouted as he gets back up and attempts to stab Xander with his wrist blade but Xander blocks the attack with his machete.
"Helios! Get Tetherby out of here at once!" Xander shouted.
"Yes uncle Xander." Helios said. She then tries to drag Tetherby out of the office. Xander then thrusts machete forward pushing Pike back before hitting him with a right hand that sends him flying out of the office.
"Not bad hunter, but I'm just getting started." Pike said. Xander smirks and pulls out a hunting knife from his boot.
"Then let's dance." Xander said.
Pike lunges towards Xander, but Xander dodges the attack and slashed Pike with his knife, but it hits the edge of the wrist blade. Xander then slashed his knife at Pike, but he blocks the attics with his wrist blades. Pike counters the knife slash and slashed Xander in the chest with his wrist blades.
"How'd you like that?" Pike mocked. He then feels pain in his stomach and when he looks down he sees the hunting knife in his stomach.
"Probably like that." Xander replied. He pulled the knife out before hitting an uppercut sending Pike stumbling back. Once Xander gets to his feet he sees the wound on Pike's stomach heal. "Bloody hell."
"Yeah I was surprised at that too." Pike said as he lunged towards Xander and impales his wrist blades into Xander's chest.
Xander growls and impales Pike in the stomach with his machete. Pike let's out a grunt and thrusts his other blade into Xander's side.
"I ain't done yet mate." Xander growls before thrusting his hunting knife into Pike's chest.
"Damn it." Pike growls.
"That's enough." The two turn to see Tetherby approaching them with Helios just behind him. "If you two would please remove your blades from each other because I believe there's been a misunderstanding." The two glare at each other and remove their respective blades from each other. As soon Pikes blades came out of his body, Xander drops to a knee causing Helios to immediately run to his side.
"Don't worry luv." Xander assured her gently. "I'll be fine. It'll take more than a little stabbing to take me down." He turns to Pike. "You were pretty good mate."
"Thanks, so are you." Pike said as he turned his attention to Tetherby. "So what are you doing out of your safe room William Tetherby?"
"William Tetherby was my father's name and he's dead. I am the new C.E.O of Tetherby industries." Tetherby said.
"I assume my father knew you?"
"Your company was my sponsor." Pike said.
"Ah yes." Tetherby said. "I seem to recall that." He turns to Helios. "Take your uncle downstairs to a healing pod. I can our friend here."
"Ok." Helios said though there was hesitation. She then helps her uncle to his feet and starts to guide him to an elevator.
"So how did your dad died?" Pike asked.
"He died of a heart attack. I took over this company right away. He was a good man." Tetherby said.
"We both know that isn't true." Pike said. "Your father was a selfish, greedy, egotistical man who didn't give a damn about anyone."
"You're not wrong." Tetherby said as he leaned back in his chair. "My father was a monster who hated the poor and was furious when he couldn't tear down the homeless district. However he was still my father and I must continue to follow his legacy. Now as for you, I think we can help each other."
"You want to help me? Even those I try to kill you?" Pike asked.
"It's the least I can do. You managed to hold up against Xander." Tetherby replied.
"I guess." Pike said.
"So here's the deal." Tetherby said. "I want you to work for me as an enforcer. In return I help you."
"Seems tempting but I have my own business." Pike said. "With your old man already dead, I only have one target and that's my main focus."
"As long as the L-Crew are around, you'll never accomplish your mission." Tetherby told him.
"We'll see about that." Pike said before turning around and walking out.
Armor is on his motorcycle driving through the streets looking for Pike, he looked at his watch, Armor pulls over and answers the call. "Have you found him yet?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"Not yet. But I'm still looking. How's Lynn?" Armor asked.
"Doing better." Mr. Cuddles replied. "She just finished talking to Soothsayer and then walked off."
"Are you sure she didn't just ask Soothsayer to quickly heal her then got on her ATV?" Ms. Appear asked.
"Positive." Mr. Cuddles responded.
"You know how stubborn Lynn is. Remember when she went after Tremor?" Armor asked.
"Yeah I remember. But this time is different, I think Soothsayer told her to go home." said Mr. Cuddles.
"Did I hear my name?" Soothsayer asked as he walked into the room.
"Yeah." Mr. Cuddles answers. "Hey what did Lynn ask you?"
"Oh she asked me to fix her injuries." Soothsayer replied. "After I did that she hopped on her ATV and drove into the city."
"Uh oh." Mr. Cuddles said. "Yeah she's in the city."
"Damn it." Black Ice said. "Now we gotta find her."
"Alright, if any of us find her report in. If she's fighting against that Pike guy. We need to make sure she doesn't get herself killed." Crystal Princess replied on another line.
"Got it!" Black Ice and Armor both replied as they both hanged up.
"Damn it Lynn." Ms. Appear muttered.
In another part of the city, Parkour was on her ATV searching the city for Pike.
"Damn. So far nothing." Parkour muttered. "Maybe I gotta think smart about this. Ok so Pike is after my coach. So if I find Keck, I find Pike. But the question is where would Coach Keck be?" The thinks about it and an idea comes to her. "The gym! She always goes to the gym after school. Gotta go fast."
Over at Royal Woods gym, Coach Keck is on the treadmill doing her run, when she looked down at the time she has run for about 40 minutes, so she pressed stop on the treadmill and as she proceeded to walk off the treadmill.
"Nice workout." A voice called out which caused Coach Keck's eyes to widened as she turned around and sees Pike right behind her.
"Jerry? How did you find me?" Keck asked.
"Call it a lucky guess." Pike replied.
He then starts to approach her with his blades slowly coming out of his wrists.
"Please don't do this." Keck begged. "Look I'm sorry for what happened but I couldn't just hide the fact that you were a meta. Hell you almost killed a man!"
"I didn't know a spike was going to pop out of my wrist." Pike said as he continued to walk closer. "Hiding it was never an option after that. I begged the the committees that I can learn to control it. But no I got banned!"
"Please reconsider this." Keck begged. "I can help you. We can try to fix you."
"Who says I want to be fixed?" Pike said with a laugh. "Being exposed to that chemical truck was the best thing that ever happened to me! Increased strength, speed and ability. A healing factor and bone claws that never break! I've never been happier! Now with the others I killed then quick. But for you, I'll make it slow."
"Hey you!" A voice called out, Pike turned around and sees Parkour with an angry look on her face as she cracked her knuckle. "I'm ready for for round two."
"You survived?!" Pike exclaimed.
"Yeah and I still have some fight left to finish you off." Parkour said.
"Shame you won't survive to see a round three." Pike said. "I will not let you stand in my way!"
"Well in that case. Time for a workout." Parkour glared and tackles Pike and begins to beat up Pike, until he kicks Parkour off of him and she lands on the ground.
"You really think you'll beat me kid?" Pike said as he threw his trenchcoat to the side to reveal that he had small spikes on his forearms and shoulders. "Then hit me with your best shot."
"You got to kidding me?" Parkour muttered to herself. But Parkour grabs a 80lbs barbell and used it to whack Pike, but Pike sliced the barbell in half with his wrist blade. Parkour shoulder tackles Pike to the ground, grabs his ankle and throws him to a wall, then falls to the ground.
Pike gets back up and sees Parkour running towards him, Pike dodged Parkour and slashed her right arm, Parkour groans in pain as she grabs her shoulder, as she removed her hand from the wound she sees blood on her hand.
"God I really hate Mavor." Parkour muttered before getting kicked my Pike.
"Stay down." Pike said as he aimed a blade at Parkour. "Or I'll make." Before he can do anything he's shoved away from Parkour and into a wall before slammed to the ground. When he recovered he sees Armor.
"Sup." Armor said. "So I can't let you kill Parkour."
"Another one?" Pike grunted as he got back up.
"Armor, what are you doing here?" Parkour asked.
"Saving your ass." Armor said as he grabbed the metal part of an exercise equipment and absorbed the metal as it coated his body in metal.
"I didn't need saving." Parkour argued.
"Yes you did." Everyone in the gym including Armor and Like said.
"Wow. When a whole gym says that it really brings it to a whole new light." Parkour says. "Also why are you all still here? Leave and get to safety!"
The citizens all ran out of the gym as Parkour turned her attention back to Pike. "No matter I can both take the two of you out of the picture." said Pike.
"You sure about that?" Armor said as he formed his hands into blades.
"Oh I'm sure." Pike said as he readied his own blades.
"Ok so he's a lot tougher than he looks so we're gonna have to do the offense to defense strategy." Parkour said.
"Yeah I think that's the best idea at this point." Armor said. "We even need to hold him off until the others get here."
"Just keep your guard up." Parkour tells him. "Those blades hurt."
Pike charged towards Armor and slashed his wrist blades, but Armor blocks the attack and counter with a jab to the shoulder. Pike and Armor both lock their blades in combat.
Parkour then leaps up and kicks Pike in the head knocking him away from Armor.
Pike recovered from the attack and attempts to stab Parkour, but she dodged the jab and leg sweeps Pike off of his feet. Pike double kicked Parkour as he got back up, but Armor smacks Like with his right fist shaped like a hammer.
"This is easy." Armor said.
"Don't get cocky." Parkour warned. "He's still got a few tricks up his sleeve."
"There's not a lot tricks for him to pull besides stabbing us." Armor pointed out.
"Armor think about it." Parkour said. "He stabbed me by launching himself off a wall. He's no idiot!"
"Ok so there's more to him besides stabbing." Armor replied.
"Yeah, like how I can slice you all up into pieces!" Pike shouted.
He rushes towards them where he slashes Armor's torso and kicked Parkour's torso at the same time. Armor looked down and saw that the steel he was coated in had a giant slash mark on it.
"Oh that's sharp." Armor said.
"And he kicks hard." Parkour said. Pike goes to make another move but his leg is then suddenly frozen to the ground.
Pike tried to break free from the ice, but the ice grew up to his knee. "Prepare to to make your icy demise." Black Ice said right behind Pike, and he helps.
"Where did you come from?!" Pike questioned.
"Trust us it's best you didn't know." Armor said.
"Seems like you got quite the party over here." Ms. Appear said as she and Crystal Princess lowered to the ground on her forcefield hoverboard. "Did we miss anything?"
"Naw we pretty much got this all wrapped up." Armor said.
"That's what you think." Pike growled. He then raises his blades up and then cut off his leg at the knee surprising everyone.
"Holy shamoley." Ms. Appear said.
"Disgusting." Crystal Princess groaned.
"Wicked." Black Ice says.
"That was unexpected." Armor says.
"Damn it." Parkour growled.
Pike then broke the ice surrounding his leg where he cut it off. Within seconds the leg repaired itself.
"That's just gross." Crystal Princess cringed.
Pike runs to towards the group and attempts to stab Ms. Appear, but she puts up a forcefield to block the attack. "Armor up Black Ice and Crystal Princess!" Ms. Appear shouted.
"Right." Crystal Princess and Black Ice say in unison as they covered themselves with ice and crystals. Pike continued to slash at the forcefield with the slashes becoming faster and stronger.
"This doesn't look good." Parkour said.
"I'm gonna slice you to shreds!" Pike shouted.
"I think he's going berserk." Parkour said.
Pike used one final slash and broke through the forcefield shattering it. "Oh crap." Ms. Appear gulped.
Pike slashed Black Ice and it left a scratch on her ice armor. Crystal Princess formed some crystal swords and countered against Pike's attacks, but her crystal swords were beginning to crack.
"He's a monster now!" Crystal Princess exclaimed.
"Then maybe we should call our own monster." Ms. Appear said. She presses a button on her watch. "Soothsayer we need Petty."
"He is on her way." Soothsayer said.
"Good." Ms. Appear said.
Pike charges towards Ms. Appear, but she turns invisible to avoid an attack from Pike. Armor smacks Pike with his hammer fist, but Pike smacks Armor to the side. Crystal Princess forms crystal blades and shoots them towards Pike. Pike dodges some of them, but some of the blades hit his body, but he wipes the crystal blades off of him.
"Those did nothing!" Crystal Princess shouted before forming two crystal blades.
"Then let's try something else." Black Ice said forming two ice blades.
Both Black Ice and Crystal Princess both charge towards Pike and all three of their blades. But each of the hits from the blades were beginning to crack both Crystal Princess and Black Ice's blades. That's when something hits Pike in the back, he looks behind him and he sees Ms. Appear with two forcefield blades in her hands.
"Miss me?" Ms. Appear smirked.
"Die!" Pike shouted before rushing towards Ms. Appear. He immediately begins to start slashing wildly with Ms. Appear barely defending against them.
"Can't keep up much longer." Ms. Appear grunted as she began to loosen her guard. That's when Parkour to jump on Pike's back and begins to smack Pike on the head. Pike slams Parkour on the back on mirror causing her to slide down.
"Prepare to die!" Pike shouted only to get punched aside by Petty.
"Nice save big guy." Parkour said. "He heals fast so smash him good."
"Petty glad to help." Petty said.
"How many of you L-Crew freaks are there?!" Pike questioned.
"Petty, smash!" Parkour said.
Petty smiles and walks towards Pike who readies himself.
"Bring it on pinky." Pike growled.
"Petty not scared." Petty responded.
Pike does several slashes across Petty's chest causing Petty to growl in pain. Petty then hits Pike across the face sending him rolling across the ground. Pike gets back and runs towards Petty where he hits him with an upwards slash with Petty once again punching him to the ground. Petty brings his fists and brings them down but Pike rolls out of the way. Pike then jumps onto Petty's back and starts stabbing him in the back but Petty slams him repeatedly into a building which forces him off.
Pike recovers from the attack and charge towards Petty, Petty grabs a mail and throws it towards Pike but Pike sidesteps to the left dodging the mailbox, but Petty grabs a blue car and smashes Pike with it three times. "Petty hurt spike man!" Petty shouted as he punched Pike in the face a bunch of times and when he's done, Petty turns around and sees Pike getting up.
"Let's try that again." Pike said,
Petty rushes at Pike who slides underneath and slashes at his leg forcing Petty to a knee.
"Give up pinkie, you can't keep up with me all day." Pike said.
He's then punched to the side by Armor who continues to swing at him but just missing.
"I'm gonna stop you!" Armor shouted. "You ain't killing no more people!"
"You're not stopping me from getting my revenge." said Pike.
"I am now." Armor said as he smacked Pike with his hammer fist.
"Then you can die with them!" Pike said as he thrust his blades at Armor who's armor just barely protects him.
Pike charged towards Armor and slashed his armor which was sliced into pieces exposing some parts of his super suit. "So you're more like a shell Huh." Pike said.
"Uh oh." Armor said as he tries to grab more metal to absorb but gets knocked down by Pike.
"You're dead kid." Pike said. He raises his blade and brings it down but instead of hitting Armor, it hit two ice blades. Pike scowls and turns to Black Ice who was holding the blades. "You twerps really are a pain."
Pike and Black Ice both engage in a blade fight, Black Ice blocks off a jab from Pike's wrist blade and Black Ice counters with a slash on the left arm as Pike groaned in pain. "Surrender right now." said Black Ice.
"Nah I'm good." Pike said before he grabbed Black Ice by the throat and picked her up surprising her.
But then Crystal Princess shot a crystal shard at Pike's back, causing him to let go of Black Ice. Black Ice managed to get away from Pike, right when Crystal Princess placed both of her hands on the ground and crystals came out of the ground trapping Pike in a crystal prison.
"We're taking you in." Crystal Princess shouted.
"You really think you can keep me in a damn prison?" Pike growled. "You're mistaken."
"Well our prison is special." Parkour said. "You'll be powerless in there."
"I'll still break out that dump!" Pike shouted.
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch dude." Parkour said.
"We're taking you in." Parkour said. However before anything could happen, a yellow beam is fired at the crystal prison destroying it much to everyone's surprise. "What the hell?"
"I'm not sure why the boss sent me down here." A voice said behind them. They all look to see Helios. "But I still get the job done."
"Helios!" Black Ice shouts before forming her ice hammer.
"Long time no see." Helios said nonchalantly.
"Thanks for the save shorty." Pike said. "Now to finish them."
Helios looks to her left and sees Black Ice running towards the two with her ice hammer in hands. "As much as I want to kill Black Ice, we need to leave ASAP." Helios said as she shoots a strong flare in the air blinding the heroes.
Black Ice stops in her tracks and covers her eyes even thought her bangs covers her eyes, but once the flare clears up Helios and Pike are no where to be found. "Damn it! They got away!" Black ice growled.
"Hey don't worry Black Ice." Ms. Appear assured her. "We'll get them."
"But Pike escaped again." Parkour groaned. "He could go after my coach again!"
"And we'll stop him." Ms. Appear promises. "Next time we'll be more ready. But for now, we gotta deal with any injuries we may have suffered at the hands or claws of Pike."
The team is in the med bay in the base while Mr. Cuddles inspected them all for injuries. "So Helios came in and saved Pike?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"Yeah, I think they're working for someone." said Bobby.
"Hmm. This is interesting." Soothsayer said as he stroked his beard. "Helios was in my vision and today she saved Pike. Could Pike be one of the shadowed figures?"
"Maybe." Mr. Cuddles replied. "Perhaps you should tell them about your vision."
"What vision?" Luan asked.
"I had a vision the night you came home." Soothsayer replied.
"Whoa. It's been a while." Lucy said. "What was it?"
"I saw Xander and Helios along with three other figures. They were in a barren wasteland along with Bobby, Sam and Ronnie Anne." Soothsayer explained. "You three are in what appears to be a final stand."
"Wait where are the rest of us?" Luan asked.
"I'm not sure. That's all I know about the vision." said Soothsayer.
"Hmm, something big is happening soon." Lynn said. "Bobby, Sam and Ronnie Anne versus a whole army and we're nowhere to be seen."
"Maybe we're away on business, trapped in another place or something like that?" Lola said.
"That doesn't sound like us." Luan said.
"There's more." Soothsayer said. "Lynn's spirit guide approached me and said that you Louds aren't on this world. So that begs the question where are you in that vision if not here?"
"So we're not on Earth?" Luan asked.
"This could mean you would end up in another dimension or another planet." said Soothsayer.
"And you guys just got back from Mavor's Weapon L project." Bobby said.
"I know crazy right?" Luan said as she rubbed the back of her head. "But there's not much we can do about it now. The only thing I can think of is taking down Xander, Pike and Helios and maybe change the future but the problem is that Xander and Helios ain't like normal criminals like the Terror Crew or the Revenants. They don't just come out and start problems. They come out when they feel like it."
"Making them harder to find." Bobby said. "They either pop up whenever they want."
"Trapping them would be out of the question since one of them is a hunter." said Lola.
"Plus Xander is probably one of the smartest villians that we've ever fought." Lucy added. "Then add Diana into the mix."
"Has she caused any trouble at school?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"No she's actually behaving herself." Lucy said. "Put it's probably an act to avoid suspicion."
"Considering who her uncle is I'm not surprised." Mr. Cuddles said.
"Her uncle?" Lynn asked.
"Oh you didn't know?" Mr. Cuddles said surprised. "Did some digging. Helios is Xander's niece."
"Wait Diana is related to Xander?!" Lola gasped.
"Yeah, I also found some more information on Lucy's frienemy. According to this newspaper article from England. Her parents were killed during a home invasion, the death of her parents triggered her meta gene and she burned the home invaders and her house down. Diana was in foster care, and the only family she had was her uncle." Mr. Cuddles explained. "I'm guessing he taught Diana how to control her powers."
"That's crazy." Lucy said. "She said her parents were in Peru and that her uncle moved here from England to take care of her. I never put two and two together that her uncle was Xander."
"No doubt this is a shock." Soothsayer said. "But there's nothing we can do to change what's happened. For now we must be ready for anything no matter what."
"Right." Everyone said.
Inside Tetherby's office Pike is angry that his revenge has been foiled by the L-Crew. "I almost had her. But the L-Crew ruined it!" Pike shouted as he paced back and forth.
"I did warn you." Tetherby said from behind his desk with a glass of scotch in his hand. "You'll be able to get your revenge as long as the L-Crew exist. So again I propose that you work for me as one of my enforcers and together we'll take out the L-Crew and you will be able to get your revenge. So what do you say?" Pike thinks about it before nodding.
"I think we have a deal." He said before shaking Tetherby's hand.
"Welcome aboard, Pike." said Tetherby as the two stopped shaking hands.
"So what's project you're working on?" Pike asked. Tetherby leans in.
"Have you heard of the Multiverse?"
Smoke: Hey guys. Happy New year! I hope you enjoyed the new chapter. The villain Pike was suggested by TheCoffee. Thanks fo giving us your character, we had to make some changes to the character to fit our needs. But anyway we have a contest for our readers tell them Zach.
Zachlor16: Hey guys. So yes we're doing another contest. Last time we got a lot of ideas from it some we used. Now as usual here are the guidelines for the contest.
1) No new heroes. We aren't adding anymore heroes because we have all the heroes we want planned out so no new hero suggestions or suggestions for Canon characters to get powers. We've said this several times: no more Canon characters will get powers.
2) Keep all suggestions at least four or five sentences. We're reading them off our phones so too much kinda hurts the brain.
3) If you are suggesting villians, give us detailed descriptions of them. Their costumes, what their powers do, if they don't have powers what other skills do they have that make them a threat etc. Be original. Make an original character that's not copy and pasted from something else. Also no repeat powers. We've done enough with that.
4) One suggestion per customer. This gives everyone a chance to possess win. If we see someone putting down the same suggestion we will not consider it or look at it.
5) Keep all suggestions in the reviews mainly so we can both see them. Don't PM Smoke or myself. Leave it in the reviews.
