The Louds are running as fast as they can throughout the Canadian forest, Luna was carrying Lily as they ran. They were prisoners against their will by a general and three meta humans more powerful from them. They managed to escape and now they're on the run from the same people who want their powers to enchance regular human soldiers. Now the Louds must find their way back home with barely a quarter of their powers.
"So do we have a plan?" Lincoln asked as he jumped over a log.
"For now the best plan is to find shelter before nightfall." Lisa told them. "Plus I'll be able to treat some of our injuries. Right now Lori's injuries are the worst." They all looked at their eldest sister to see she was still bleeding from her shoulder and arm injuries that she received from her fight with Warfare so they had to treat her soon.
"Don't worry about me." Lori panted. "I'll be fine."
"Sorry sis not an option." Luna said. She then sees something coming into view in the distance. "Dudes what's that?" They look in the direction Luna is facing and see a cabin come into view.
"It's a hunters cabin!" Lana said.
"Excellent we should spend the night here and treat our wounds." Lisa said.
The Louds head towards the cabin, Leni uses a bobby pin to pick the lock and they enter the cabin. They look around and they see a kitchen, a fireplace, a red couch, dark blue chair, a rug, and two doors that could lead to a bathroom or the master bedroom.
"You sure the people won't mind if we use their cabin?" Leni asked.
"Hopefully." Lori said before stepping in. "Let's look around."
"Not you." Lisa said. "You need to rest."
"But-" Lori started but Lisa interrupts.
"Eldest sister you are injured and your wounds need to be treated before they get infected." Lisa told her.
"Don't worry sis, we'll look around." Luna said. "Hey bro, got enough juice to get a fire started?"
"Should have a little bit." Lincoln said.
"Sweet." Luna said. "Alright dudes let's look around. And if you find a first-aid kit bring it to Lisa."
The rest of the siblings nod as they look around the cabin. "Man I wish we had those pills right about now." Lori groaned.
"Well for now we have to heal the old fashion way." Lisa said.
Lori sighed as she watched Lincoln get logs together to start a fire. After throwing some wood in the fireplace he makes a small fireball on his finger and flicks it on the wood starting the fire.
"Ain't much but that's the best I can do." Lincoln told her.
"It should do for the night Lincoln." Lori said as Lynn came up with a first-aid kit.
"Found this in one of the closets." Lynn said.
"Thanks Lynn." Lisa said as Lynn handed the first-aid to Lisa. She opens it and sees everything hasn't been used. "Nothing has been used yet. Perfect."
Lori pulls off one of her gloves and then rolls up her sleeve so Lisa can treat the wound on her forearm.
"That fight with Warfare could've gone real bad." Lori said as Lisa put ointment on the small gash.
"Indeed." Lisa agreed. "Your also lucky that you were moving so quickly that Warfare only knicked you so he didn't hit any of your veins or you would've bled out."
"She still got hit twice." Lynn pointed out as she sat by the fire. "She was getting slower the longer the fight went on and felt myself get weaker. I can't believe we got out of there."
"I can't believe it too." Luan said as sat down on the floor next to Lynn. "Those guys were more powerful than the Terror Crew."
"Or we were just weak." Lucy said out of nowhere startling everyone. "We've fought the Terror Crew several times and they've proven to at times be stronger than us but I don't think those three were stronger than the Terror Crew."
"I must agree." Lisa said as she wrapped a bandage around Lori's shoulder. "The Terror Crew's threat levels individually range between level seven and level ten. Plus their threat levels have risen since the first time we fought them individually. For instance, Squatch was a level seven threat when we first fought him but now he's considered a level ten. Same can be said with Johnny and Nuke. At first both were roughly around a level six but both are close to ten but most like nine or nine and a half. These three are dangerous because of their skills and experience. Perhaps of we were at full power we would've beaten them but who really knows? We can't underestimate them."
"Lisa's right. Those metas would be powerful even when we're at full strength." Lincoln said. "But how will Ronnie Anne, Bobby and Sam will do against those guys?"
"They have faced off against powerful metas in the past, but these metas are a challenge for the three." Lisa said.
"Ronnie Anne, Bobby and Sam can handle anything." Lana said as she and Lola walked in with some food they found. "I'm sure that they can help us take down those three."
"If they get the chance." Lola added. "We gotta get home for that to happen."
"Well we have to travel by foot in this case." Luna said.
"That and we have to cross the boarder. We don't even have passports." said Leni.
"Almost forgot about that." Lori said. "We also don't have any money."
"Um, actually we do." Leni said with everyone looking at her confused. Leni then shows them a wallet. "This fell out of Warfare's pocket while we fought him in the truck." She opens it up and pulls out a credit card. "I don't know how much money is on it but it should have enough to help us right?"
"Hopefully." Lincoln said with everyone voicing their agreement. Lori looks out the window and sees that it's getting dark.
"Well for now we need to rest." Lori ordered. "However we'll need people to keep watch so we'll work in shifts."
"Ok who gets first watch?" Luan asked.
"I'll take the first watch." Luna volunteered.
"Alright good." Lori said. "Luna'll keep watch for a couple hours. After her will be Lucy. Everyone else get some sleep."
"Right." Everyone said.
The next morning the Louds left the cabin and continued walking through the wooded area.
"We should be coming up to a town soon." Lincoln said.
"I hope so." Lola said. "I'm tired of walking." As the conversation was happening, Lori was trying to figure out their next move.
"Ok so we'll need to get passports to get into the states." Lori said to herself. "On top of that we'll need different clothes because we can't go walking around in our hero suits and Mavor's crew knows what our civilian clothes are so we'll need completely new clothes. We'll also need a means of transportation so we'll need a car or something. Probably a good thing I'm almost eighteen so that should make things a little easier."
"All we need to find is a a shopping mall or store near by to buy some clothes." Leni said.
"Leni's right, we don't know if we're close to any town or city." Luna replied.
"True." Lori said as she stroked her chin before turning to Lana. "How long do you think you could hold a bird form?"
"Maybe a few minutes." Lana answered. "Really depends on the bird."
"Think you can fly ahead and find us a town?" Lori asked.
"I could try." Lana replied before going osprey. "I'll be back." She then flies off.
The Louds are waiting around for Lana to return back to cabin. "Where is she?" Lola asked.
"She probably had to walk on foot Lola." said Lincoln,
"Or maybe Mavor and his goons got her?" Lynn stated.
"I hope not." Lola fretted. Suddenly the door opens to reveal an exhausted Lana.
"Sorry." Lana panted. "Ran out of juice on the way back. Landed in the middle of a moose herd. They weren't friendly. But I found a town though. It's actually not far from where I left you." She then realized something. "Wait did you guys seriously walk back to the cabin literally minutes after I left."
"Uh yeah." Leni said. "The woods is totes dirty and this place is like safe."
"Until three maniacs come and get us." Lynn muttered.
"Enough." Lori said. "Look let's head to the town and try to gain more distance between us and Mavor's goons."
"You got it sis." Luna said. The Louds all walked towards the town.
"Ok once we get to the town, we need to change out of our hero outfits so we don't cause attention to ourselves." Lori said.
"Yeah probably a good idea." Luan said. "The last thing we need is to draw attention to ourselves."
"Then let's just change now." Lincoln said. "We do it now we'd have one less thing to worry about when we get there."
The Louds each pressed a button on their watches and their hero attire turned back to their normal street clothes. "Alright, let's get going everyone." Lori said as they head into town.
When they finally exited the woods they looked down the road and saw a small town not far away.
"That the town Lans?" Luna asked.
"Yep." Lana answered. "It's small but I think it should have all the stuff we need."
"Right. First order of business, new clothes." Lori said. "Mavor's goons know our attire so we need different clothes."
"There's a clothing store on the left side of the street." Leni pointed out.
"Alright let's go." Lola said.
They head into the town and towards the clothing store. Once inside they were surprised to see how big it actually was.
"Looked a lot smaller on the outside." Lucy commented.
"Crazy." Lola said. "Let's just find our clothes and get out if here!"
Sometime later the Louds are in their own dressing rooms, once they were done they exit the changing room. They were each dressed as in other clothing. Lincoln was dressed up as Lily, Lori was dressed up as Lincoln, Leni was dressed up as Lana, Luna was dressed up as Lynn, Luan was dressed up as Lucy, Lynn was dressed up as Lisa, Lucy was dressed up as Lola, Lana was dressed up as Leni, Lola was dressed up as Luna, Lisa was dressed up as Luan and Lily was dressed up as Lori.
"This looks familiar." Lincoln said.
"I agree, the hillbilly look is not my style." said Leni.
"Yeah but this won't work." Lori said. They go back into the dressing rooms to change. Minutes later they step out wearing different clothes. Except for one thing.
"This won't work either." Lisa said.
"Why's that?" Luan asked.
"These are just our normal attires but different colors." Lisa told them.
Lisa was right, Lincoln's shirt is lavender and Brown pants, Lori is wearing a red tank tank and blue jeans shorts, Leni is wearing an orange dress, Luna's wearing a sea form green version of her attire, Luan is wearing a black tank top and red skirt, Lynn is wearing a blue and white Jersey and blue shorts, Lucy is wearing a purple and white version of her attire, Lola is wearing a yellow dress, Lana is wearing red overalls and a green shirt, Lisa is wearing a brown sweater and navy blue pants. Lily is wearing an orange shirt and green shorts.
"Ok one more time." Lori said.
Lori stepped out wearing a gray sweatshirt over a white blouse and black leggings with white tennis shoes.
"This look could literally work." Lori said.
Leni then then stepped out wearing a green dress with spaghetti straps along with white knee high boots.
"This is like so me." Leni said.
Luna stepped out wearing a brown t shirt with NIN on it, blue short, a grey hat and some white sneakers. "Rocking." Luna smiled.
Luan stepped out of the changing room and she's wearing a red long sleeve shirt with a grey strip in the middle, blue jeans and black shoes. "I feel different, but it's the only way we'll get past those guys." Luan said.
Lynn stepped out wearing a Toronto Maple Leaves jersey and gray sweatpants along with black sneakers and a Toronto Bluejays baseball hat backwards on her head.
"Not a Toronto fan but it'll do." Lynn said.
Lincoln stepped out wearing a green tank top with black shorts along with orange sneakers on his feet and on his head he wore a beanie.
"Personally I think the beanie adds to the look." Lincoln said.
Lucy stepped out wearing a black hoodie, blacks, and some black boots. "Wicked." Lucy said smiled.
Lana stepped out wearing a red flannel shirt, blue pants, brown boots and wool cap on her head. "I feel different without my red hat, but I don't want to be caught." Lana said.
Lola steps out wearing a white t-shirt with the word 'PRINCESS' written in pink on it along with pink sweatpants over white sneakers.
"This screams fashion." Lola said with a flip of her hair.
Lisa steps out with a red t-shirt with a picture of an atom on it with blue jeans and shoes.
"This attire will due for now." Lisa said.
Lily stepped out and she's wearing a pale purple t-shirt and blue pants, she looks at herself and smirks.
"Ok everyone ready?" Lori asked as everyone nodded. "Ok let's buy them."
"Why did we let Lily into a changing room by herself?" Lana asked.
"Don't think about it." Lincoln replied.
The Louds all exit the clothing store. "So where do we get our passports?" Leni asked.
The Louds are walking around the town after getting their passports. "Ok now we need a van that's bug enough for us to ride in." Lori said. "So be on the lookout for a van big for eleven."
"We'll keep an eye open sis." Luna said.
"So are we stealing or buying?" Lynn asked.
"Buying." Lori said. "We're heroes we don't steal."
"Yeah but I mean there's a lot of paperwork that goes into it." Lynn reminded her.
"I forgot about that part." Lori said.
"Not to mention we stole a jet." Lincoln added.
"Excuse me." A voice said. The Louds turn to see an old man approaching them. "Did you youngsters say you were looking for a vehicle that can fit eleven?"
"Yeah we're looking for a van that fits eleven." Lori said.
"Well I have one fo you kids." Said the old man.
"You do?!" The Louds exclaimed.
"Yes." The old man said. "Follow me." He leads them to an old garage. When he opens it the Louds see an old van. "Now she ain't new but she still runs good. Should get you where you need to go."
"Are you sure sir?" Lana asked as she inspected the vehicle.
"Of course." The old man said. "I don't drive as much as I used too and my sons bring my groceries to me these days to the van isn't really needed anymore."
"So the van is ours?" Leni asked.
"Of course. Treat her as well as I did back in her prime." The old man said as he handed the keys to the van to Lori.
"Thank you so much." Lori said.
"Your most welcome." The old man said. "Now go. Go home to the place that needs you."
"We will." Lori said. "Thank you. C'mon everyone let's go." Everyone climbs into the van and Lori goes to start it up. After a couple tries the van starts up. Lori then turns to the old man. "Thanks again mister, um I'm sorry we never got your name."
"Don't worry about my name dear." The man said. "Now get out on the road."
"Thanks." Lori said. She hits the gas and drives off. Once she's gone, the old man frowns.
"My name is Randy." The old man said before pulling out a cigar and lighting it up. "And one day, you'll know it." Soon a strong wind whipped up before he walked back into his garage to go into his home.
The Louds are driving down the road. "Ok when we get back to Royal Woods, we need to get Ronnie Anne, Bobby, Sam, Petty and Tongri ready for when Vaccine, Mirage and Warfare show up. And maybe Carol just in case." Lori explained.
"Then what? Throw them in the Dungeon?" Lynn asked.
"Well yeah." Lori said. "Look those three are monsters and we gotta lock them up. Plus I'm pretty sure those three would break out of a normal prison."
"She's got a point." Lucy said.
"I guess." Lynn groaned. "Hey Lis where are we?" They all turned to Lisa who was looking at a map.
"I believe we're in Montana." Lisa answered. "Speaking of which, Lori did we buy supplies for the journey?"
"I don't think so." Lori responded. "We were focused on trying to get out of Canada that we didn't think it all out. Where's the nearest city?"
"That would be Great Falls." Lisa answered as she checked the map.
"Anything known about that city?" Lori asked.
"No, not really." said Lisa.
"Then we should stop and get some stuff fast." Lola said.
"Why's that?" Leni asked.
"Lily." Lola said holding Lily away from her as fumes are seen coming from her.
"Why didn't we buy diapers?" Luna groaned.
"Ok we'll stop at a store." Lori said.
"You guys can go there I'm gonna head to that minimart back there." Lincoln said. "I'm gonna get snacks.
The Louds have arrived in Great Falls and entered a supermarket, Lincoln grabbed a basket and started browsing around for snacks. "Let's see chips, candy and chocolate." Lincoln said as his browsed the section. "Better not get chocolate, the girls will finish it within seconds."
He grabs some chips and places them into the basket. He goes to turn around and bumps into someone. Lincoln looks up and sees a sixteen year old boy with spikey blonde hair wearing a green t-shirt under a brown leather jacket along with jeans and black sneakers. The boy looked down at Lincoln and scowled at him.
"Watch where you're going runt." The boy growled.
"Hey man I was gonna apologize but now I'm not so sure." Lincoln said. "I think you need to learn some manners." This caused the boy to grow a deeper scowl.
"Are you mocking me?" The boy growled.
"Probably." Lincoln said. This caused the boy's eye to twitch.
"You're gonna pay for that." The boy snarled.
"Oh yeah? What are you gonna do about it?" Lincoln mocked.
Outside the supermarket the people outside heard a loud explosion. Seconds later Lincoln is sent flying through the window into a car.
"Ok blast me out of the store. I guess you can do that do that." Lincoln groaned in pain as he got off of the car. But then the boy stepped out of the store with his face full of rage and the vein on his forehead about to explode.
"You think I should learn some manners? I think you need to learn some more." The boy said.
"Someone has anger issues." Lincoln muttered. However the boy heard this and it made him angrier.
"I DON'T HAVE ANGER ISSUES!" The boy shouted. He puts his hands behind him and fires an explosion that launches him forward.
"Uh oh." Lincoln said. "Gotta act fast. Hopefully my powers can hold up." He ignites his arms with fire and quickly puts them up. Once the boy gets close he holds one of his hands out and shoots an explosion at Lincoln who counters with his own fire causing a large explosion.
Meanwhile the rest of the girls were getting supplies when they heard the explosion.
"What was that?" Lana asked. The girls head outside to see several police cars outside. The girls approached one cop wearing a cowboy hat and a brown jacket over a police uniform. On his jacket he had a badge that said 'Sheriff'.
"Um excuse me? What's going on?" Lori asked.
"Oh don't worry. It's just Dale." The Sheriff said.
"Dale?" Luan asked.
"The local meta." The Sheriff said. "Oh I'm Sheriff Dan. It's my job to keep Dale in check but it's harder than you think especially with his temper. Which means he gets into fights a lot. This time apparently he's fighting someone with fire powers."
"Lincoln must be facing off against Dale." Luna whispered to Lori.
"It appears so. We need to make sure they don't get anyone hurt in the crossfire." Lori whispered to Luna.
"I think it's best you girls stay far away from this." Sheriff Dan said to the girls, but when he looks at the Loud sisters, they were gone. "They must have taken my advice."
In another part of the city, several explosions were seen and heard as Lincoln and Dale clashed. Lincoln slid back in the street with a growl as Dale launched himself at him.
"That all you got Mr. Angrypants?" Lincoln challenged as he shot a fire blast at Dale that hits him head on stopping him in his tracks.
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK SHORT STACK!" Dale shouted.
"Make me." Lincoln replied.
"I'm going to make you regret the day you were born!" Dale shouted.
"That the best insult you can come up with splodey!" Lincoln taunted. He quickly flew up and kneed Dale in the face. Dale grabs his leg and throws him while also firing an explosion at the same time sending Lincoln flying even further and onto a building. "This guy is tougher than he looks. I'm also running low on energy so I gotta finish this soon."
Meanwhile the girls were in their hero costumes looking for their brother and Dale from their van.
"Dudes these two are really going at it!" Luna said as she looked at all the property damage Lincoln and Dale caused.
"Tell me about it." Lynn said. "Leave it to Lincoln to pick a fight when we're trying to get home. Not gonna lie I thought I'd be the first to do that."
"Same here. In fact me and Lols had a bet about who'd get into a fight first on the way home." Lana said. "She owes me twenty bucks."
"How was I supposed to know Lincoln would pick a fight first?" Lola said. She looks out the window and sees more fire and explosions going off. "Lori over there!" Lori nods and turns in that direction where they see Dale staring up at a building.
"Come down and fight like a man runt!" Dale shouted.
"Is all you do is shout and scream?" Lincoln shouts back from on top of the building. "Is it because your dumb or lonely?"
"THAT'S IT YOU'RE DEAD!" Dale shouted. He aims his hands at the ground and unleashed an explosion that sent him flying up towards the building. Lincoln narrows his eyes and jumps off the building to meet him with his arms engulfed in flames. "THIS IS WHERE I FINISH YOU NERD!" He thrusts his one arm forward in an effort to hit Lincoln but he narrowly avoids. "What?"
"Actually this is where I finish you!" Lincoln shouts before hitting Dale with a firery right hand causing the two to go crashing down to the ground which caused dust to kick up. The Louds get out of the van to where the two crashed. When the dust cleared, they see Lincoln on top of Dale holding him down and panting heavily. "It's over."
"Get off of me twerp!" Dale growled.
"Bro you okay?" Luna asked as ran towards Lincoln.
"Yeah I'm fine, just had to deal with a guy with a short fuse." Lincoln said as he got off of Dale.
Dale immediately stood up. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING A SHORT FUSE!?" He shouted. He is then suddenly smacked in the back of the head by Sheriff Dan. "WHAT THE HELL OLD MAN!?"
"Boy look around." Dan ordered. Dale looks around and sees the damage done to the city.
"Shit." Dale said after calming down. "I did it again didn't I?"
"Yes you did." Dan said. "Damn it Dale how many times do I have to tell you not to pick fights with people? Last week you fought a guy because he cut you off. The week before that you damn near attacked an old lady for taking the last box of cereal you wanted. You can't keep doing this kid. My job is to keep you out of trouble and out of juvie but you doing this crap makes it hard. You're lucky that the kid you fought was a meta human and a member of the L-Crew. Speaking of which why the hell are you fighting an eleven year old?"
"He bumped into me, it it's because he didn't see me coming his way." Dale replied.
"Damn, this dude really has issues." Luan whispered to Luna.
"Damn it Dale! I don't know what I'm gonna do with you? You could have hurt someone with your recent episode." Sheriff Dan stated.
"Sorry." Dale said. Sheriff Dan sighed before turning to the L-Crew.
"I have to apologize for Dale." He said. "He's had it rough."
"It's ok." Lincoln said. "I mean nobody got hurt except me and him. In fact he actually moved our fight away from people."
"Which means he's getting better." Sheriff Dale said. "But he still has a long way to go. He means well but because of his episodes people around here aren't fans of him. I've seen him try to help people but they don't give him the time of day. I hate to say it but I'm sadly his only friend." He sighs before getting an idea. "Maybe you kids can help. You see Chief Haggar has been trying to convince me to give you kids jurisdiction here so you can help with meta problems. I haven't answered him yet but I'll make you a deal. If you help Dale here, I'll give Haggar a call and I'll to his proposal." The Louds looks at each other before huddling up.
"Guys we don't have time for this." Lynn said. "Those maniacs are still after us."
"I know but this could benefit not just them but us as well." Lori said. "But we do have a time limit right now."
"I say we help him." Lincoln said. "The guy gave me a hell of a fight. I mean he's really strong and maybe he can be a friend and ally. So again I say we do it."
"Well I guess we can help him." Lori said. "But once Mavor's goons show up, we'll leave."
"If we do help him, i suggest we go somewhere with open space and no people near by in his blast radius." Lisa suggested.
"Agreed." Everyone said before breaking the huddle.
"We'll help out." Lori said. "But we can't stay long."
"Yeah we need to get back to Royal Woods before three meta human takes us back to this military base and drain our powers." Lynn said.
"So you guys are on the run?" Dale asked.
"You can say that." Lucy said.
"Look if you kids can change Dale's image I'd appreciate it." Sheriff Dan said.
"Whatever." Dale grumbled.
"We'll change his tune alright." Luna said as she chuckled.
"Hey, leave the jokes to me." Luan whispered to Luna angrily.
"Save it you two." Lori ordered. "We just need a place a little more open if we're gonna do this."
"I know just the place." Sheriff Dan said.
Sheriff Dan is leading the L-Crew by driving to the temporary training ground for Dale. "Ok so we're gonna teach this guy how to control his rage and get out." Lynn said.
"Depends on how long it's going to take." said Lisa. "This recalls Everytime our brother gets angry, the room and objects begin to heat up."
"You're wasting your time." Dale said gruffly. "The old man can't help me what makes you think you can?"
"Because I know how you feel." Lincoln said. "My powers mess with my emotions too. The only difference between you and me is that I've learned to control my temper and at times use it to my advantage."
"So you learned to chill out? Cool." Dale replied.
"There's more to it, than taking deep breathes and punching pillows." said Lisa.
"Yeah like that'd change anything." Dale said leaning against a tree and looking at the city he called home. "No matter what I do they'll still see me as a walking grenade that just blows things up when things don't go his way. You guys are wasting your time."
"Is all you want is to be accepted?" Leni asked.
"I don't know maybe." Dale said. "I've been on my own for as long as I can remember and all this town has ever done for me is see me as nothing but trouble. Only a matter of time before they drive me out." The Louds look at each other before looking at Dale.
"Have you ever thought that maybe the problem is that you keep pushing people away?" Luan asked. "I mean the way you talk about everyone it seems like you try to keep your distance from them and not try to get close to them or interact with them."
"Maybe." Dale said. "But it's probably too late now." He then feels a hand on his shoulder and sees Lori.
"It's never too late." Lori said. "Sheriff Dan believes in you, why can't you? I think the reason you're so angry isn't just because of your powers but it's because you're lonely. So maybe you need to interact with people and not push them away. And maybe you can use your powers for something great. Maybe be a hero."
"You actually think I can become a hero? A guy who blows up everything in his path? That's rich." Dale scoffed.
"It could be possible. I turned a cyborg who was our enemy into a friend." Lori said.
"Yeah plus I'm pretty sure that half of us are considered level seven or higher threats and we work out fine." Lincoln said. "As for you, you're really strong even though I'm currently not at full power, I actually had to push myself to keep up. And your powers are really versatile. During our fight you used them to launch yourself, you can attack at different ranges short or long. I think you could be a good hero if you ease up a little on your explosions to avoid property damage."
"You really think I can be a hero like you?" Dale asked.
"Nope. Not like me." Lincoln said. "I want you to be better."
"Better?" Dale asked.
"Pretty much be your own hero and such." said Lori.
"I want you to be better because one of these days I want a rematch." Lincoln said. "I want us to go another round when we're at full power." Dale looked at him surprise before a smirk formed on his face.
"I hope you know what you're asking for shorty because I plan on beating your ass!" Dale said.
"Ok you dudes done?" Luna asked. "Time to begin your training Dale."
"No." Dale said much to everyone's surprise.
"No?" Leni repeated. "Why not?"
"The way I see it is if I let you help me, I'd be doing it your way." Dale said. "And I don't want that. I'll earn their respect my way."
"Are you sure?" Lori asked.
"Yeah. I'm sure." Dale said before looking at Lincoln. "And I want to beat you my way."
"Well I guess I can respect that." Lincoln said. "Then it'll be a hell of a fight then."
When they got to their van Dale offered to help them load up their supplies for the road. As they loaded their bags they hear a scream. They turn and see a man running off with a old woman's purse.
"Someone help!" The old woman shouted. Before the Louds can move, Dale launches himself forward at full speed with his explosions and tackles him to the ground. Dale grabs the purse and holds it up.
"HEY! WHO'S PURSE IS THIS!?" Dale shouted.
"That would be mine." The old woman said as she walked towards Dale. "Thank you so much young man."
"Don't mention it." Dale said as he handed the purse back to the old woman.
"What a good boy." The old lady said before walking away.
"LET THIS BE A LESSON! NOBODY STEALS PURSES WHEN I'M AROUND!" Dale shouted.
"He's something isn't he?" Lola said.
"He needs to work on his people skills." Lucy commented.
"Agree." Lisa replied. "But at least he won't end up in juvenile hall, I hope."
"Alright, everyone ready to hit the road?" Lori asked.
"Yeah we're ready." Luna said.
"Hey hold on." The Louds turn and see Sheriff Dan approaching them. "Before you go, I just want to thank you for all that you've done for Dale. I really appreciate it."
"Don't mention it." Lynn said. "It's what we do."
"And worry about Dale, I'll be keeping a close eye on him and maybe start working on his people skills." Dan said with a chuckle. "But seriously thank you. I'll be calling the other counties and convince them to go along with Haggar's plan. But for now, get home safe."
"We will." Lori said as she rolled up the window and drove away while Dale and Sheriff Dan watched them drove away.
"Next time we meet again Firecracker, I'll be ready for our rematch." said Dale.
"Looks like you got a rival bro." Luna said.
"Yep." Lincoln said. "And you know what? I can't wait for our rematch because we're both gonna be stronger!"
Back in Royal Woods, Mr. Cuddles and Soothsayer were trying to find the whereabouts of the missing Louds with little success.
"Anything?" Soothsayer asked.
"Nothing." Mr. Cuddles said sadly. "I'm not able to track their location at all. Their watches must be damaged and Lisa hasn't been able to fix them so they can't call the jet or you."
"That is troublesome." Soothsayer said. "They've been missing for two days and I'm getting worried. Perhaps we should focus on the people who captured them. Pull up the footage from the shipyard." Mr. Cuddles nods and pulls up paused video of the Louds surrounded by unknown assailants. "Now focus on those three."
"The ones that look like they're talking to the Louds?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"Yes, focus and enhance." Soothsayer said as Mr. Cuddles nodded as he zoomed in on the unknown figures and enhanced the image.
"They must be Metahumans." Mr. Cuddles said.
"Indeed." Soothsayer said. "Martha do a face recognition scan."
"Certainly." Martha responded. Martha crops the three heads of the three suspects and scans them. Once she's done, three pictures pop up. "Matches found."
"What?" Mr. Cuddles gasped. "Those are army photos. Let's see. The big guy is Sergeant Maverick Jones. Top soldier, somewhat of a war hero, did three tours. People in his platoon called him Warfare because he was just as deadly as any of military weapons if not more especially after his meta gene became active which gave him the ability to grow blades from any part of his body. Terrifying."
"Indeed." Soothsayer said. "What about the other man?"
Mr. Cuddles looks at the second figure. "Robert West, he was a Military Doctor, and the best one. He was attacked by a spy, but the spy dropped dead after two minutes of a struggle. Dr. West's fingers have turned into injection needles and the spy died of a lethal toxin from West's body. Dr. west's is now known as Vaccine and has killed many men and women who he encounters." Mr. Cuddles explained.
"My stars." Soothsayer said. "Two dangerous men indeed. And the woman?"
"Laura Stevens. She was an undercover military officer who went behind enemy lines to get intel. She was one of the best but got exposed to an experimental weapon that resulted in her getting powers over darkness. She also has several kills under her belt. They call her Mirage because as fast as she arrives she's gone."
"So three trained killers." Soothsayer said as he stroked his beard. "But these three were in different branches of the military. What connection do they have?" Mr. Cuddles does some typing and finds several reports.
"These three were all locked up in the same military prison." Mr. Cuddles said. "Doesn't say what the they did just that they were locked up there. But according to this they weren't in there long. They were released on the orders of Colonel Jason Mavor."
"What information you have on this man?" Soothsayer asked.
"I'm looking into it." Mr. Cuddles said as he typed on the keyboard until he found something. "Found something, Mavor joined the army sometime after college and through out the years he went through the ranks. Over the years he fought about something that can help out the army, Metahumans. Mixing human DNA and Metahuman DNA."
"Is that even possible?" Soothsayer asked.
"Dude I'm a talking teddy bear how am I supposed to know." Mr. Cuddles replied. "Anyways those three meta humans ain't the only ones who joined up with him. A lot of normal human soldiers went rogue and went along with him but Mavor's superiors still wouldn't allow him to run experiments. According to this he ordered his subordinates to attack a village that they were watching. No survivors."
"Mavor truly is a monster." Soothsayer growled.
"Mavor and his crew disappeared after the fact." Mr. Cuddles finished. "A lot of people thought they were dead but obviously they aren't."
"Indeed. So the Louds are in trouble but we can't help them because we don't know where they are." Soothsayer said. "But knowing them they've probably escaped and are trying to make it home."
"With those three on their asses." Mr. Cuddles finished. "Soothsayer those three are dangerous. Can Ronnie Anne, Bobby and Sam handle them?"
"Not sure." Soothsayer said. "Which is why we must prepare. If our suspicions are correct the Louds are trying to make their way back to us. However we don't know how far out they are so we don't know how much time we have to prepare which is why we must start as soon as possible."
"I'll contact them as soon as possible." Mr. Cuddles said.
The Louds rode in the van silence as they continued on their journey home. Nobody had said a word since they left with the only sounds being the bags of chips they were eating.
"Hey Lori it's getting late." Leni said suddenly. "Maybe we should stop somewhere."
"Maybe you're right." Lori said. "Lisa what's the next state we gotta go through?"
"Let's see. Judging by where we were in Montana, I believe that we're approaching North Dakota and should be there within the hour." Lisa responded.
"Alright sounds good. Next stop will be a hotel and we'll get some rest and first thing tomorrow we're hitting the road."
"What about breakfast?" Leni asked.
"We'll pick some up." Lori replied.
"Sounds good." Luan said. "Also Lincoln is out." The girls look to see Lincoln fast asleep.
"Can't say I'm surprised." Lynn said. "Who knows how much energy he used fighting Dale."
"If he's that wiped from a single fight how can we fight Warfare, Mirage and Vaccine if they find us?" Lana asked.
"Well maybe we should try to avoid confrontations." Lisa suggested.
"Easier said than done." Lori pointed out. "Sometimes we gotta defend ourselves. Anyways there's a city coming up. We'll find a hotel once we're there."
The Louds drive into the city where they see a hotel and park their van in the parking lot, and enter the hotel to get a room or two to get some rest.
The next day, the Louds were driving through the roads of North Dakota after getting some breakfast burritos at a restaurant. "They're not the same as dad's." Luan said.
"Nothing is as good as dad's." Lola said. "I really hope we get home soon."
"We'll be home soon." Luna said. "We just don't know when." The van suddenly comes to a complete stop causing everyone to lurch forward. "What the hell Lori!" Lori doesn't answer and just keeps staring forward. Confused the rest of her siblings follow her gaze and see three figures standing in the middle of the road and one flying above them.
"Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?" Lori asked.
"Yeah four weirdos standing in our way." Lynn said.
"Well one's flying." Leni said.
Suddenly the four figures approached them. As they got closer they saw some interesting features on them. One looked like he was part wolf with gray fur, ears on top of his head and claws on his hands and feet.
The person next to him was slightly taller and had features of a panther with black fur, a tail, long sharp claws that rivaled the wolf boy and panther ears on his head.
The third person on the ground looked like he had features of a snake with scales all over his body, snake like eyes and couple fangs sticking out of his mouth as well as some small claws on his hands.
The person flying was the only girl with features of a hawk that included having wings where her arms would be and talons on her feet. She also bright yellow eyes. She also had long green hair.
All four figures looked to be around the ages of sixteen through eighteen. Once they got to the van the wolf boy tapped on the window. Lori cautiously lowered it.
"You lost?" The wolf boy asked.
"No I don't think so. We have a map." Lori said as she showed a map in her hand. "We were driving fine until you guys got in the way." Lori said.
"Well you see, this is our territory and you appear to be trespassing." The wolf boy told them. "So if I were you, I'd turn around and go a different route."
"I have already looked up the map and it'll take us about two hours to get back on route." Lisa replied.
"That's your problem. Not mine or my gang." said the wolf boy. "Now get lost."
"Listen wolf breath we ain't going anywhere." Lana said defiantly. "Now step away from our van. You're scaring our sister." The four look in the back and see Lily trying to cower by Lisa while in her car seat.
"Terrance maybe we should let them go." The bird girl suggested however Terrance just scoffs.
"And what would that do Laura?" Terrance said. "Nothing to benefit us." He turns to the panther boy. "Hey Rex what do you think?"
"I say teach the one with pigtails some manners." Rex said. He turns to the snake boy. "What do you say Alan?"
"I don't see why we shouldn't." Alan said.
"Oh really? Big bad boys you are trying to beat up a six year old." Lana taunted. "You guys are so tough." Rex growls and sticks his head through the open window.
"Think you can back up those words?" Rex growled.
"Guys she's six." Laura said.
"Who cares?" Alan said.
"Fine I'll teach you some manners." Lana said as she stepped out of the van and walked a few feet from the vehicle before she started stretching. "Just let me stretch real quick."
"Alright make it quick!" Terrance growled.
"Lana, I don't think it's a good idea to face against these guys." Lola said.
"These guys aren't letting us past, if I beat them, they'll let us through." said Lana as she pulled her right arm. "Besides how bad can they be?"
"Are you guys really gonna attack a six year old?" Laura asked from on top of the van.
"She needs to be taught a lesson." Terrance said. "And we're the ones to do it."
"Alright I'm ready!" Lana called. "Ok I gotta make this quick. I don't know how long I'd be able to hold my forms so I have to be smart on what I become. No huge animals that'll leave me open if that takes all my energy."
"Enough talk!" Alan shouts before rushing forward. However Lana doesn't make a move as she waits for Alan to get closer. "You're going down!" However once he gets close he is met with a large black paw that smacks him to the ground. The other members of the gang look on in shock as they see a black bear standing over Alan where Lana once stood.
"She can turn into a bear?!" Terrance exclaimed as he gets smacked by Lana's paw. Rex pounces on Lana's back as he swipes his claws on Lana's back as she roars in pain.
Lana slashes Rex's face with her claws and she growls as Terrance lunges towards Lana and bites Lana's right arm. "You think she can hold up against these guys?" Lola asked Lisa.
"It depends on the forms she takes." said Lisa. "If she chooses a large animal or beast it'll drain her quickly."
"Damn it." Lana thought. "I thought for sure I'd be able to take them down with one hit and be good. So much for that plan." She let's out a roar as she shook Terrance off of her before feeling a sharp pain in her hind leg. She looked down and saw Alan digging his claws into her leg.
"How does that feel?" Alan taunted.
Lana swats Alan off of her leg as she struggled to stand. "She can barely stand!" Luna exclaimed.
"Had enough kid? It's only going to get worse if you keep going." said Terrance.
"Damn it the black bear doesn't have the mobility i want." Lana thought. "Time to go back to an old friend."
"She's finished!" Rex said but before he can do anything he's punched and sent flying by a large black fist.
"Rex!" Terrance shouted. He turns around and sees a large black gorilla in place of the black bear.
"She's a shapeshifter?" Alan exclaimed as Lana grabbed Alan and started smashing him on the ground.
"Damn it." Terrance growled. "Damn it!" Lana throws Alan to the side before turning her attention to Terrance. "I'm not going to lose to a six year old! You hear me! I'm not going to lose!"
"I gotta end this." Lana thought. "I can't hold this for much longer." Terrance then lunged forward running at full speed.
"You're finished!" He roared before leaping up. However as he's in the air he's hit in the cheek by Lana's gorilla fist that proceeded to punch him into the ground. Lana then turns back to human panting heavily.
"No you're finished." Lana panted before walking back to the van. She then hears movement behind her and when she turns around she sees all three boys on their feet.
"We ain't done yet." Terrance growled. But before anything can happen they are all smacked in the back of the head by a wing. "Ow what the hell Laura?"
"You idiots think for a second." Laura said. "How many animal shspeshifters are there in the world?"
"Let's see there's us and the one in Royal Woods." Rex said.
"Yeah and they're all in the U.S." Terrance replied.
"Do we really count as shapeshifters if we can't change back?" Alan asked.
"I don't think so." Terrance answer. Laura let out a groan grabbing Terrance's face and forcing him to look closely at Lana.
"Take a close look at her face!" Laura orders. Terrance squints his eyes as he looks at her before they widen.
"HOLY CRAP WE ATTACKED WILDGIRL!" Terrance shouted.
"Wait, you serious?!" Rex asked.
"Yeah it's Wildgirl!" Terrance replied.
"We didn't know it was you with that new outfit." said Laura.
"I don't know weather to be honored or not that we got our asses beat by her." Alan said.
"Probably a little bit of both." Terrance said. "And if she's Wildgirl that means that the other people in the van are the L-Crew right?"
"Pretty much." Lana said waving her siblings to join them.
"Damn." Rex said. "Sorry for attacking you like that. Mind if we take this conversation elsewhere?"
"I don't see why not." Lori said.
"So you guys just passing through Bismarck?" Terrance asked. They were all gathered in a old house in a abandoned neighborhood where the Louds were being resting and taking care of Lana's minor wounds.
"We're heading back To Royal Woods, some general wanted our powers so we escaped." said Lori.
"They took us up in Canada." Lincoln said.
"So you're heading back by a van?" Rex asked. "State by state."
"That is correct. It might seem slow, but it's the only way." Lisa said.
"Well you still got a ways to go." Laura said as she tried to groom one of her wings which Terrance went to assist her with. "You got at least two more states to go through till you reach Michigan."
"Well we gotta do what we gotta do to get home." Lana said as Lisa bandaged her scratches. "So why are you guys still like that? Can't you turn your powers off?"
"Wish we could but we can't." Alan said. "Unlike you our powers don't turn off."
"Alan chill." Terrance said. "She was just asking. Our powers are different from yours. You see our power don't turn off so to speak."
"You mean there's a reason why you look like Zootopia characters that didn't make the cut?" Lynn asked.
"I would have gone with rejects from the Island of Dr. Moreau, but yes." said Terrance.
"You see when our powers first became active they were little things." Rex explained. "Claws, heightened senses. Things that can be easily hidden. Then later on, you wake to find yourself looking like this." He gestures to his friends.
"The four of us were already friends before this started." Laura continued. "Rex is my younger brother, Alan is Terrance's best friend and Terrance is my boyfriend. So misery had company. But that didn't mean we were happy."
"People were afraid of us." Alan said. "Called us monsters, freaks, mutants. People are just so insensitive. They liked to throw things at us. A lot. Laura almost got knocked out one time when a bottle hit her head."
"Yeah and I was flying before that bottle hit me." Laura said. "I could have died."
"I almost went on a rampage when I heard what happened to Laura." Terrance said. "This city even treats us like freaks, we get bullied and pranked left and right."
"We're sorry to hear that dudes." Luna said.
"You're the only the ones that are." Alan grumbled. "Police Chief Amoy tries to help us and keep us out of trouble but we don't make it easy."
"Wait, you don't make it easy?" Luan repeated. "Are you guys constantly causing trouble?"
"Little bit." Rex admitted. "We decided that if they wanted us to be monsters than we'd give them what they wanted."
"But that ain't right!" Lana shouted. "The minute you act like monsters is the day the people who pushed you to become that win! You should be trying to win the trust of the people not lash out at them!"
"How are we going to do that?" Terrance asked. "The next time there's trouble we announce that we'll save the day?"
"You got to show them that you're not monsters. Trust me, I know how you guys feel about the whole being labeled as a monster thing." said Lincoln. "When Irate and I split from each other, he started burning Royal Woods to the ground. It took all of my strength to kill him and yet people saw me as a monster."
"Wait I remember hearing about that." Laura replied.. "I knew you didn't mean to start the fires."
"But the thing is that you could be better people and use your powers to help people." Lori said.
"I concur." Lisa said. "Your abilities could be very helpful with looking for missing people."
"Would they even accept us?" Rex asked.
"You won't know till you try." Leni answered. The four look at each other before Terrance sighs.
"I'm willing to try if you three are." Terrance said.
"I've said that we need to reconnect with everyone." Laura said as everyone nods. "But can you guys come with us? We might need someone to vouche for us."
"Sure. We'll do that." Lori said.
"You can count on us." Lincoln said.
"Fine let's go see the chief." Terrance said.
When they arrived at the police station the Louds see an older women in her forties with tan skin wearing a police uniform talking to several officers. The four animal-human hybrids approach her and when the other officers see them they tense up. The older woman sees this and turns around to see why.
"Hey Chief Amoy." Terrance greeted nervously.
"Terrance, what are you and your friends doing here?" Chief Amoy asked. "Don't tell me you caused more problems for me to fix."
"Yes and no." Terrance said. "We caused a problem but it resolved itself after we got our asses beat by a six year old."
"That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard." Chief Amoy said.
"I know, but it makes more sense if we explain it." said Terrance.
"Look I don't have time for this." Chief Amoy said. "We're currently trying to find the whereabouts of a missing teenage girl and I don't need you four causing trouble."
"But that's the thing!" Rex said. "We want to help!"
"You want to help us find a missing teenage girl?" Chief Amoy asked. "What makes you think I can trust you and your animal friends Terrance."
"You're missing the point Chief Amoy, I can track your missing teenager by scent." Terrance pointed out.
"Yeah we have the skills to find her." Alan added. He points at the Louds. "They can vouche for us!" Chief Amoy sighs and approached the Louds.
"Can you vouche for them?" Chief Amoy asked.
"Yeah we sure can." Leni replied.
"We can do that." Luan said.
"Fine." Chief Amoy said with a sigh. "You can help but one wrong move and you four are done."
"Right." The four say in unison.
"Give Terrance something of the missing person so he can get the scent." Chief Amoy ordered one of her officers.
An officer walks towards the evidence locker and brings out a smart watch in a bag. "This is the last known item on the missing teen." said the officer as he handed the bagged object to Terrance. Terrance opens the bag and sniffs the watch.
"You got something?" Rex asked.
"One moment." Terrance said as he continued to sniff the watch. He then tossed the bag to an officer and sniffed around the area when he got something. "Gotcha. The scent leads this way!" He then runs off followed by his crew.
"Should we follow them?" Leni asked.
"I think we should." Lincoln said.
"Everyone in the van." Lori ordered.
The Louds and the police followed the four to a medium sized house in a small neighborhood.
"See anything?" Terrance was asking when the Louds and police walked up.
"Yeah." Alan said. "Ten heat signatures. Five upstairs and five in the living room. We also got five in the basement. These guys have kidnapped more than one girl."
"Human trafficking." Chief Amoy growled. "You four. Get them."
"Yes ma'am." Terrance said. "Laura and Alan upstairs, Rex and me downstairs. Let's go." Laura grabs Alan and they fly to the roof while Terrance and Rex approached the door. Alan kicks the window allowing he and Laura to climb through. Rex meanwhile grabs the door and rips it off allowing him and Terrance inside. Everyone hears shouting come from inside followed by a loud crashing sound. Seconds later three guys came crashing through the downstairs window while two fell off the roof. Not long after the last two downstairs were sent through the wall while poked their heads out the window with their hands up in surrender.
Terrance and Laura exit the house with ten girls by their side. "Wow that fast." said Luna.
The police walked towards the human traffickers and arrested them as the rest of the police officers walked towards the five girls and to comfort them during this bad time. "I have to admit, I'm impressed." Chief Amoy said to the animal heroes.
"So are we good?" Terrance asked as Alan and Rex walked out carrying three more girls.
"Yeah I think so." Chief Amoy said. She then turns to the Louds. "I guess I should thank you for vouching for them. Is there anything I can do for you?"
"Well you could agree with Police Chief Haggar's plan to give the L-Crew jurisdiction out here." Luan said.
"I'll keep that in mind." Chief Amoy said.
"You're really gonna like us helping you out in North Dakota." said Lola.
"We'll see about that." Chief Amoy said. "For now how I provide you with a hotel room for now.
"Works for us." Lori said.
Meanwhile in Montanta, Dale let out a groan of pain as a hand held him down. Nearby, Sheriff Dan and several other officers had their guns drawn because standing before them was Vaccine, Mirage and Warfare who was holding down Dale.
"You should've known you didn't stand a chance against me boy." Warfare said. "But I'll admit you packed a hell of a punch. Now I'll ask again. Where are the Louds?"
"Go to hell." Dale groaned.
"Wrong answer." Warfare said and punches Dale in the face. "I'll ask you again. Where are the Louds?"
"Answer carefully." Vaccine said as he pointed his needle finger at Dale's neck. "It might be your last."
"They're far away from you freaks." Dale growled.
"Kids these days." Vaccine said with a sigh. "No respect for their elders. Perhaps a lesson is in order."
"Now now." Mirage said. "You kill him we don't get no info."
"Please just let him go." Sheriff Dan said. "Look the people you're looking for left a couple days ago. Just let the kid go please."
"Smart man." Mirage said. "Warfare let the kid go."
Warfare nodded as he released Dale from his grip. "You made the choice sheriff." Vaccine said. "They must be heading back to Royal Woods."
"We need to capture them before they get help from the other three heroes." Mirage said.
"Agreed." Vaccine said. "Let's get go." The three walk out of the police station with Warfare casting a glance at Dale who was struggling to get back to his feet.
"See ya around kid." Warfare said before laughing as he walked out.
"Damn it." Dale growled as he held his arm. "I couldn't stop them. I'm so damn weak."
"You did what you could kid." Sheriff Dan assured him. "Just be glad you're alive. Let's get your injuries patched up."
Meanwhile in North Dakota, the Louds are at a local park eating their lunch. "Siblings we only two left to pass through Minnesota and Wisconsin, we would be back in Royal Woods in about a week." Lisa stated.
"That's good, once we're back in Royal Woods. Everything will back to the way it was." Lynn said. "Well almost normal."
"Yeah I can't wait till we get home." Lola said. "I really miss my princess bed."
"Wonder how mom and dad are doing." Lincoln said.
"They're probably fine." Lori said. "Probably don't even know we're gone because of Soothsayer's magic doubles of us. When we get back it'll be like we were never gone in the first place. But I assume that's not what's bothering you?"
"Yeah." Lincoln said. "I've been doing some thinking lately and I was wondering if maybe we should tell mom and dad about us?" He prepared to hear his sisters shout their rejection of this idea and how stupid his idea was but it never comes. Lincoln looks over and sees all of them deep in thought.
"Damn bro I don't know." Luna said rubbing her arm. "I mean it's not like I haven't considered it but I don't know I'm not sure."
"I know I've been labelled as the tattletale of the family. But I've been fighting the urge to tell mom and dad about our superhero identities." Lola said.
"It's hard to hide my strength around our parents." said Lynn.
"You know how hard it was to hide my powers around mom when I was sick?" Lana asked.
"I think we've all considered telling mom and dad at one point but we've all agreed that not telling them was for the best." Lori said.
"I know but still." Lincoln said. "I mean I know Soothsayer makes those doubles for when we're not in the city but what about if one of us doesn't make it back?" This got everyone's attention. "I mean almost all of us have had a near death experience since we started but what happens when our luck runs out?"
"Lincoln's right, some of us nearly while fighting some villains and some monsters." Luan pointed out. "Lincoln nearly died twice, Lynn was beaten half to death and let's not forgot about the time some of us got turned to stone by Tremor."
"I mean you're not wrong." Lana said. "What if Xander gets the best of me and I'm made his trophy? We knew what we were getting into when we all agreed to do this but a lot of it has been scary. I mean what if Sam hadn't come out to save us after Replicate beat us, what would've happened?"
"Probably would've met our demise." Lucy said. "Replicate was merciless when we fought him and he had full intentions of destroying us."
"You're right about that Lucy." Lori said. "But remember when Lana got sick and every time she sneezed she turned into an animal. What if Lincoln gets sick and everytime he sneezes fire comes out of his nose. Same with Lucy and the room freezes or anything like that. How would we cover that?"
"What about when our powers were switched?" Lola asked. "Lincoln turned invisible and was almost caught by daddy. Luckily he only thought he forgot him but what if he didn't? What if he saw Lincoln turn invisible?"
"That and remember when mom and dad saw our scars and cuts after our second battle with Replicate. What if we returned home with broken bones and worst. How do we explain it to mom and dad." Luan said.
"But what about the time when Irate took over Lincoln's body. He could have roasted our parents alive." Lynn said.
"He did say he would if we didn't play along with his game." Lola said. "That's what he told me at dinner the first night he had control of Lincoln's body. Had fire ready and everything."
"Irate could've blew us in at any time." Lisa pointed out. "But I do agree with your fears. It is indeed a terrifying thought about what would happen to our parental figures if we don't come back."
"I feel the same way, but I feel like they're losing our trust with us." Lincoln said. "I don't know how much longer we can keep this up?"
"I know." Lori said. "It's getting harder and harder to keep it a secret from them. Maybe we should tell them."
"Maybe." Leni said. "But are we sure we're ready?"
"I'm not ready yet." Lucy said.
"Neither am I." Luan said.
"Maybe we should tell them another time. When we're all ready to tell mom and dad the truth. We'll let them know." Luna suggested.
"I think that's for the best." Lori said. "We aren't ready yet. But we can't wait forever."
"Agreed." Lisa said. "But I suggest we leave. We don't want to spend to much time here."
"Right." Lori said. The eleven begin to head to the van when they hear voices.
"Hey wait up!" The Louds turn to see Terrance, Rex, Alan and Laura coming their way. "You really gonna leave without saying goodbye?" Terrance said.
"We figured that you guys would be busy with police cases and what not." Lori said.
"That and we don't want to hit traffic along the way." Lincoln said.
"Well we just want to say thanks for vouching for us." Laura said.
"Yeah we owe you one." Rex said.
"Don't mention it." Lana said. "Just stay out of trouble."
"We will Alpha." Alan said surprising everyone.
"Alpha?" Lola questioned.
"Yeah. Lana kicked our ass so she's our Alpha." Terrance explained.
"Oh. In that case, you guys take care Wild Pack." Lana said.
"Wild Pack?" Rex asked.
"I like the sound of it" Laura said.
"And you're in charge of the Wild Pack Terrance." Lana said.
"I'm still in charge, even those you're the Alpha?" Terrance asked.
"Yeah because I'm needed elsewhere." Lana said. "But you four take care ok?"
"We will Alpha." Terrance said. "You all get home safe."
"We will." Lori said. The Louds then climb in the van and as they drove off waved at the Wild Pack who were waving at them as they drove off.
In Royal Woods, Ronnie Anne, Bobby and Sam were gathered at the base to discuss a plan of action.
"Alright everyone let's begin the meeting." Soothsayer said. "Petty and Tongri please join us." The two stick their heads out of the kitchen and walk in with a bucket of chicken. "Ok so as we all know the Louds were captured a few days ago. We still don't know where they are but we know who captured them."
"You do?" Bobby asked.
"Yes, these figures." Mr. Cuddles said as he showed files of Colonel Mavor, Vaccine, Warfare and Mirage. That and even images of the three metas at the docks capturing the L-Crew.
"Bad people took mama!" Petty shouted.
"Easy big guy." Sam said as she rubbed Petty's arm and petted Tongri's head as he was also starting to get worked up. "So why are you telling us this?"
"Simple." Soothsayer said. "There's a chance that the Louds escaped but because we believe that their communications are damaged they can't contact us and are taking the long way home."
"Which means that those creeps are chasing after them." Ronnie Anne finished. "And since we don't know what condition the Louds are in, we'll have to fight those guys when they show up."
"Looks that way, and they might be a challenge." said Sam. "But we have Tongri and Petty on our side. We could have a chance."
"If you insist, but I'll keep any of our allies on standby." Mr. Cuddles said.
"So what do we do till then?" Bobby asked.
"We prepare." Soothsayer replied. "We must be ready for anything because we don't know what they're capable of."
The Louds are driving on the highway. "So what's our next state?" Lynn asked.
"That would be Minnesota." Lisa answered.
"Home of the Vikings." Lynn said. "I've always wanted to go there."
"And it also means we're a lot closer to home." Leni said.
"Hope we can get through there without a fight." Lori said while casting a glare at Lana and Lincoln.
"She talking about us?" Lana whispered.
"Probably." Lincoln said. "Hey Lori we're running out of snacks."
"And it seems like we need some gas." Lori said. "As soon as we reach Minnesota we'll resupply and get some gas."
"Oh and get you get some beef jerky or something." Lynn said.
"Or some chocolate." Luna suggested.
"What's the point you guys are going to eat it all in seconds." Lincoln said.
"Lincoln we need our chocolate." Lola said.
"We haven't had any in days." Lucy said.
"Whatever." Lincoln groaned. "I'm gonna try to successfully get supplies without getting into a fight with a guy with anger management issues."
"That's the spirit Linky." Leni smiled.
The Louds have stopped at a gas station, while Lori is filling the van with gas. Meanwhile Lincoln is inside the gas station looking for snacks. "Let's see some chips, candy and all I need is chocolate." Lincoln said as he grabbed some chips and candy.
"Um excuse me." Lincoln turns around and sees a fifteen year old girl with short brown hair wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans with a chain hanging off it and black boots. She also had on black lipstick.
"Oh hi." Lincoln said. "Can I help you?"
"Yeah. I'm looking for a friend of mine." The girl said. "He's big, tall kinda stupid and loud but still a big teddy bear."
"Sorry." Lincoln said. "I haven't seen him." They then hear shouting from another aisle. They look around the corner and see Lynn and a large man with orange hair wearing a tank top and cargo shorts along with brown boots. One thing Lincoln noticed was he had braces on both his arms. Both of them each had a hand on a piece of jerky.
"I had the jerky first!" The large man shouted.
"No I did!" Lynn said. They both start pulling the jerky causing it to break.
"Look what you did!" The two shout in unison. "That's it! I'm gonna kick your ass!" The throw punches at the same time causing the fists to collide which caused a shockwave sending everyone in the store except Lincoln and the girl flying back. Lynn and the man look at each other surprised before smirking.
"Let's take this outside." The man said. "I like this store."
"Yeah good idea. We don't want anyone to get hurt in the process." Lynn agreed. The man and Lynn both walk outside of the store and walk towards a grassy field. "Now where were we?"
"About to get your ass kicked." The man said as he punched his fists together.
"I'd like to see you try." Lynn said as she got into a fighting stance. "Gotta make sure I don't use too much of my power but I can't hold back. Damn it. Stupid Mavor."
"Let's go!" The man shouted.
Lynn punches the man in the chest causing him to stagger a bit. The man growled and then elbowed Lynn in the face. Lynn gets knocked down as she gets back up, she growls as she glared at the man.
"Nice hit." Lynn compliments.
"You're not so bad yourself." The man said. "Let's kick it up a notch!" He then rushes forward and hits Lynn in the face with a hard right hand sending her sliding back. He then throws another punch but Lynn rolls out of the way causing the fist to hit the ground. Lynn then runs up and kicks him in the face before jumping behind him and kicking him in the back of the head.
The man then gives Lynn a double axe handle, but Lynn dodged the attack. Lynn then kicks the man in the chest and kicks him again in the knee. The man groans and stumbles a bit and tackles Lynn by the shoulder.
"I need to end this quick." Lynn said as she recovered from the attack.
"That all you got?" The man challenged.
"Hell no!" Lynn said. She rushed forward and threw a punch at the same time her opponent did causing the fists to collide once again causing a shockwave. The two continued to throw punches but their fist continued to collide. They continued this rapid exchange both no longer trying to dodge each other's attack with feeling the full force of the attacks but neither moving back. However Lynn noticed the punches were getting stronger and stronger the more they hit forcing her to start blocking.
Meanwhile on the sidelines, Lincoln and the girl were watching with Lincoln holding a bag of popcorn.
"This is getting intense." Lincoln said.
"Um are you sure she's ok?" The girl asked.
"Please she's my sister and if I know my sister she's fine." Lincoln told her.
"Ok but she really stop blocking and start dodging." The girl said.
"Why's that?" Lincoln asked as he ate popcorn.
"Because with every successful hit his punches get stronger." The girl said causing Lincoln to almost choke on his popcorn.
"What?!" Lincoln questioned.
"Yeah think of it like a video game multiplier, but instead of getting a score, it makes him stronger with each successful hit. Sadly if he misses, his strength resets to his normal level." The girl explained. "Too bad she doesn't know that."
"Great." Lincoln said but makes no moves to tell his sister.
"Um aren't you gonna tell her?" The girl asked.
"Nope." Lincoln said. "Lynn loves this type of fight. Telling her would upset her and make her feel like she needed my help to win so I'm not gonna tell her." He then watched as the large man sent his sister sliding back with a hard right hand. "She's got this."
Lynn panted as she glared at the large man in front of her. He was strong. Really strong and despite the sense of urgency, Lynn was enjoying herself. It's been a while since she had a one on one fight that really pushed her to the limit.
"Hey big guy." Lynn called. "You got a name?"
"Yeah. Names Marcus but everyone calls me Brace."
"Names Lynn." Lynn said. "You've given me a hell of a fight but I think it's time to finish this."
"Couldn't agree more." Brace said.
"I need to end this quick." Lynn said to herself as she and Brace charge towards each other and get ready to punch each other and they both clashed, causing a shockwave knocking both Lincoln and the girl down.
"Who won?" Lincoln asked as he gets back up.
Lincoln looks into the field and sees Lynn panting heavily while Brace was on his back.
"Take that." Lynn panted.
"That was a hell of a punch." Brace groaned as he stood up.
"Guess Lynn won." Lincoln said to the girl but she was no longer next to him. He looked around and saw the girl running towards Brace.
"Brace!" The girl shouted.
"Yeah?" Brace replied. He turned to look at her only to get punched in the face knocking him back down. She then gets on top of him and starts punching with Brace trying to block them.
"You idiot!" The girl shouted as she punched. "How many times do I have to tell you to not go off picking fights!?"
"Ow easy Monica easy." Brace said. Monica pinches the bridge of her nose and sighs.
"Idiot." Monica said. "How we're partners is beyond me."
"So they're partners?" Lincoln asked himself. "That explains why she was looking for him in the store.
"Look I was getting some beef jerky and there was one left." Brace explained.
"So you're only option is to fight someone for dried up meat?" Monica asked.
"Yes. No. Maybe?" Brace stammered. "There's no right answer is there?"
"Why am I friends with you?" Monica questioned.
"Because I saved you from being experimented on evil doctors." Brace replied.
"It was a rhetorical question!" Monica shouted. She turns to the confused Lynn and Lincoln. "Well as you heard I'm Monica and the big lug is Brace. Sorry for the trouble he caused."
"It's alright, that guy was strong I will admit. But I managed even when I'm not at my full power." Lynn said.
"Water under the bridge." said Lincoln.
"So are you guys passing through Minnesota?" Monica asked.
"Sorta." Lincoln answered. "It's kinda a long story."
"The same can be said about the both of us." Monica said as the rest of the Loud sisters run outside.
"Is everything okay?! Are they here!?" Lori asked.
"Lori relax." Lincoln said. "Lynn just got into a fight with Brace over jerky."
"Brace?" Leni questions.
"Yeah?" Brace responded.
"Are you Brace?" Lori asked.
"Yeah." Brace said.
"Ok." Lori said with relief before walking behind Lincoln and Lynn and bonking them on the head. "That's for making us believe Mavor's goons were here!"
"We probably deserved that." Lincoln said.
"Let me guess this Mavor guy wants you guys and use you for experiments? I've been down that road before." Monica said.
"You have?" Lola asked.
"Yeah." Monica said as she rubbed her arm. "I was in an accident. Screwed up both my legs and arms. Was taken to a hospital that turned out to be a weapons facility. They cybernetically enhanced my legs and completely replaced my arms with bionic arms that can turn into weapons and grant me enhanced strength. They were gonna turn me into a weapon." Brace places one of his large hands on Monica's shoulder in comfort. Monica responded by placing her own hand on top of his. "Brace was also a prisoner there. He broke out and saved me."
"That reminds me of someone else I know. Her name is Carol." Lori said. "But she and her ex-boyfriend were driven by revenge, but after we fought in an abandoned hospital, we became friends and has become an ally."
"She's just like me?" Monica asked.
"Yeah but she's more robot than you are." Lori said. "These guys are still learning to trust her but she's making progress."
"I guess that's good to hear." Monica said. "I mean Brace and I became friends almost instantly when we escaped."
"But dude how old are you?" Luna asked. "You look twenty something."
"I'm actually eighteen." Brace said. "I kinda had a growth spurt."
"What about those braces on your arms?" Lisa asked.
"You see I have super strength but also have some extra that everyone call multiplier. Every successful punch i land doubles by striking strength."
"So that's why your punches felt stronger when I was blocking them." Lynn said.
"However it comes with a couple downsides." Brace said. "For starters once I miss a punch the multiplier resets back to normal. It also causes massive strain on my arms. The braces basically keep my arms in one piece."
"First time he discovered the multiplier he damn near tore apart his arms from the strain." Monica said. "The police chief around here was able to get some braces made for Brace to protect his arms. That's how he got the name Brace."
"Damn that's got to be painful to go through that." said Lynn.
"The thought of your arms getting tore off is painful and something no one should see." Lisa stated.
"So are you guys having any issues here?" Leni asked. Brace and Monica look at each other confused.
"Like what?" Monica asked.
"Issues with cops?" Lana suggested.
"No cops are cool with us." Brace said.
"Um what about civilians?" Luan asked.
"No problems with civilians." Monica replied.
"Poo poo?" Lily said.
"No I already went." Brace said.
"So do you guys have any issues?" Lola asked.
"Well there is one thing." Brace said.
"Oh." The the Louds say in unison because before them stood a completely destroyed neighborhood.
"What happened?" Lincoln asked.
"We happened." Brace sighed. "We were hiding here sometime after we escaped. Over time we made friends with the residents here. We were right at home, but that all changed when the people of the Weapons facility attacked, Monica and I fought them off. But sadly I did more damage than the other people who are after us."
"Did the residents survive?" Lisa asked.
"They survived, no serious injuries but they were left homeless." Monica said.
"There's a reason that we don't have problems with the civilians or the cops and it's because we avoid them." Brace said. "Every time we use our powers something bad happens and people get hurt. It's one of the reasons we don't use our powers around them."
"But you guys were in a store?" Lynn pointed out.
"Because we still no food and other stuff." Monica said. "When we met you we had gotten separated and I couldn't find him. Next thing I know he's getting into a fight over jerky."
"But don't you miss interacting with people?" Leni asked.
"Yeah but they're better off without us." Brace said. "They don't need us causing them trouble."
"It's the only way to keep people safe." Monica said.
"Not always." Lori said.
"Yeah dudes." Luna said. "Avoiding people sometimes hurts them more than helps them."
"Sometimes people need assurance that you still care." Luan said.
"If they still trust us that is." Monica sighed. "They didn't like it when their homes were destroyed."
"Did they actually tell you that?" Lola asked.
"Not exactly." Brace admitted. "We sorta ran away before they could say anything."
"So you ran away without taking responsibility for some of the damage you caused?" Lincoln asked.
"Who says we don't have responsibilities?" Monica challenged. "When there's crime we still get involved! We just don't stick around after the fact!"
"But interactions with the people you protect is the best part of being a hero." Lana said. "Seeing the grateful smiles and being cheered makes it all worth it. One time an old lady made us cookies just for saving her cat."
"Wow that sounds nice." Brace said.
"If they accept us back that is." Monica stated.
"Who said we didn't?" Everyone turned around and they saw a bunch of people walking up to them led by an older man wearing a police uniform.
"Chief Myer?" Monica questioned.
"We all know you didn't mean to destroy this neighborhood." Chief Myer said. "But you two ran off before we could talk to you. We've never blamed you for this."
"But we destroyed some homes in the process." Brace said.
"That doesn't matter, those are just things." An old woman said.
"But we left so many of you homeless." Monica said. "How can you forgive us?"
"Did you really think you left us homeless?" A man asked. "We've all been living with family while waiting for the neighborhood to be rebuilt. So we haven't been homeless since the incident."
"We tried looking for you two, but you were no where to be found. We wanted to say thank you for saving everyone." The old woman said.
"You saved me from that falling girder when it came loose from our crane." A construction worker said. "I would've died if not for you."
"You saved my students and their bus driver when the bus almost fell off a bridge." A teacher told them.
"Your quick thinking prevented a fire at a apartment building." A firefighter said.
"You've saved so many people but you are so afraid that we hate you dears that you run away before we can thank you." An elderly lady said. She walked up and grabbed each of their hands. "We miss seeing our guardians out there protecting us. So please, be apart of our community again. We all miss you."
Brace and Monica both discuss this in a huddle and after they finished, the two faced the crowd. "We'll be your guardians." Monica said. "And we promise that we won't damage your homes when they're rebuilt."
The old lady smiles and pulls them to the crowd of people who gather around them.
"We're sorry we avoided you." Brace said. "We promise we won't do it again no matter what. We'll be the protectors that you can be proud of."
"Well another problem solved." Lynn said.
"I look forward to working with Monica of the police chief allows us jurisdiction here." Luna said.
"I'll see what I can do." The Louds look up and see Chief Myer approaching them. "I may be old but my hearing is still top notch. If I'm being honest I've been meaning to get back to Haggar about that. I'll give him a call tomorrow."
"Thank you sir." Lori said.
"No. Thank you." Myer said. "You helped our heroes in their darkest hour. Something that they wouldn't let us do. Now if there's anything I can do just ask."
"Actually there is." Lincoln said. "You know anything about the weapons facility that was here?"
"More than I should." Myer said. "Somehow snuck in under my nose. Some of the facility probably paid off a few of my cops. Anyways they're gone now. All locked up. But they were working on something. Brace kept saying he saw something in there. Something big. It attacked the neighborhood but Brace and Monica smashed it to pieces. Wasn't much of a weapon because of how easy it was destroyed unless it was an early model."
"Interesting." Lisa said. "I wonder if this facility is connected to Mavor somehow."
"Possibly but we can't waste anymore time." Lori said. "Thanks for the info Chief Myer."
"Don't mention it." Chief Myer said. "You take care now."
"We will." Lori said as she and the rest of her siblings head back to the van and drove away.
The Louds are driving down the highway going to the next state. Lincoln was looking out the window, until his stomach growled. "Anyone else getting hungry?" Lincoln asked.
"Then have some snacks." Lori said.
"But I'm hungry for a meal." Lincoln replied.
"We didn't stay in Minnesota long." Luan pointed out. "And it's starting to get a little dark."
"I guess we can stop and get something." Lori said. "Anyone see a place we can stop and eat something?"
"There's a diner at the next exit." Lynn said pointing at a sign.
The van got off the exit and drove towards the diner and parked the van. The Louds enter the diner, where a blonde waitress walks up to them. "Table for eleven please." Lori said.
"Sure thing." The waitress said as she lead the Loud siblings to a booth big enough for all of them to sit, and some time later she brought a high chair for Lily and 11 menus.
They open up the menus and start looking through them.
"Trying to find something vegetarian on here." Lana said. "Not easy. I really don't want salad."
"What about breakfast for dinner?" Lori suggested.
"Oh that sounds good." Lana said with everyone voicing their agreement.
"Let's all do that." Leni suggested and they looked through the breakfast menu.
Outside the diner a vehicle pulls up and parks in front of the diner. A hatch opens and a large man climbs out. Once he's on the ground he locks the vehicle and walks towards the diner. He opens the door and heads inside where he looks around. He then hears voices and he turns to see a large group of people sitting at a table looking at menus. He then begins to walk towards them.
"The French Toast sounds good." Lincoln said.
"Totes does." Leni agreed. "I'm getting that."
The figure continues to approach them and once he gets close enough to hear their voices clearly, a smile forms on his face.
"I want pancakes." Luan said.
"Same here dude." Luna says. They then hear a voice.
"Thought I recognized those voices." The Louds look up from their menus and gasp at what they see. "Been a while Louds."
"Road Hazard!" The Louds exclaimed in unison before getting out of their seats and running up to him where they engulf him in a group hug with Lily climbing on his head.
"What are you doing here?" Lola asked.
"Just passing through." Road Hazard said as he gently takes Lily off his head and holds her in his arms. "Been taking down some Backwoods Devils chapters and decided to stop at one of my favorite diners. But that's enough about me. What are you kids doing here? You're a little far from home aren't you?"
"It's kinda a long story." Lori said.
"I got time." Road Hazard said. "How about I join you and you can tell me all about it."
They all sat down and the Louds proceeded to tell Road Hazard what's been going down the past few days. With them being captured to starting a massive road trip to get home while avoiding Mavor's goons to telling them about the metas they've met. As soon as they finished a waitress brought their drinks.
