Death is so cruel!

The news of her granny's death left everyone in shock. Lisa's parents had not expected to loose her just yet especially not now that her precious grandchild is about to attend college.

She had suffered from partial stroke recently and the family doctor had assured that she'd be fine after taking all the medications prescribed for her.

Lisa loved her grandmother so much and they always bonded very well but she was the strict type. She always wanted everyone to do as she says with no objections especially when it comes to family issues.

But regardless her love for the family was unconditional....she would prepare sumptuous meals whenever she visited and would make funny jokes about grandpa when he was still alive.

Her death really caused a deep wound on everyone's heart especially Lisa.

"Why would death take her away from us" Lisa said sadly with a black vail wrapped round her head like a bereaved person.

"Grandma was so special to me....she was always there to support me....I...." she could barely speak as tears rolled down her eyes.

"I know she will always be up there watching over you okay" Frederick said as he gives her some tissues to wipe her tears.

"But why could death be so cruel!" She muttered.

"Don't worry my dear Lisa....everything will be okay" he replies with a grin mixed in sadness.

Frederick knew how much Lisa's grandma loved her and so he couldn't resist but feel pity for his lover.

Lisa talked for so many hours and starved herself all through the day even when her mother brought some pastries, she reluctantly ignored the tray which was closed to her bed.

"starving yourself won't bring her back my dear daughter" Mrs Gina said abruptly with her eyes in tears.

"M...um....please....I don't have any apetite for food...please!" She replies sternly as she asked them both to leave.

"Frederick can I have a word with you? Outside please" Mrs Gina said curtly as she takes the tray of pastries with her.

Frederick felt for his lover but she didn't want anyone around her at that moment.

"Close the door behind you....I need no disturbance!" Lisa sneered as she opens the drawer and picks her granny's photo.

Mrs Gina walks downstairs with frederick as they both sit at the dining to converse about Lisa.

"My dear....I think my daughter needs some quiet time now...I...I"

Frederick cuts in immediately.

"No need to explain ma'am...I practically understand....I know how she feels and I've found myself in such condition before when I lost my grandfather few years ago" he tries to control his emotions in front of her.

"Please don't be weary cause I'm sure your grandfather would be proud of you wherever he is now....so please my dear" she responds as she tried to lighten up his mood.

"I love Lisa so much and I can't watch her in pains especially at this point of her life"

"You're such a good boy...thank goodness my daughter found you...please never leave her side even for a moment cause I and her dad won't be here forever" She laments in a sobbing tone.

"I promise you ma'am....nothing will ever separate me from Lisa...."

Just as they were about to end their conversation....Betty rushed in and demanded to see Lisa but noticed Mrs Gina's presence.

"Accept my sincere condolences mum...grandma was such a sweet soul and I know how much trauma y'all are going through at the moment" Betty said as she hugs her.

"Thank you my dear...Lisa is upstairs but she's adamant to see anyone especially now...not even frederick" Mrs Gina said curtly.

"I'll still have to see her mum....at least to ease her pains"

"Okay then...please help me convince her to atleast eat something so she wouldn't get sick" Mrs Gina beckoned.

"Oh my poor girl....I'll try my best mum" Betty responds as she runs upstairs to see Lisa.

She noticed the door was locked as decided to knock which seemed strange cause Lisa hardly locks herself in the room.

She knocks more than five consecutive times but no response from Lisa.

"Lisa....it's me Betty please open the door!" She yelled loudly.

"I don't want to see anyone right now please!" Lisa responded.

"Girl!...she was also like a grandma to me and I'm so bittered but please let me ease you of all your pains girlfriend....You know how much I love you"

Lisa couldn't hold her tears as she watched them drop on the photo of her grandmother.

She screams out in anger but held back a little of how she really felt.

Betty hears her scream and became scared she was going to hurt herself in the process.

"Lisa...don't do anything stupid to yourself...please open the door now!"

She quickly ran downstairs to call her parents and Fredrick who were sitting with the other visitors that had come to pay their condolences.

"Help! I think she wants to harm herself...she had refused to open the door for me" Betty said nervously as they all ran upstairs.

Lisa's dad tried to break the door but Frederick offered to do it himself.

He hit it twice but still couldn't get through until the third attempt, the door lid broke and swang the door open.

Lisa was on the ground helpless and crying like a child when they entered and everyone felt even more sorry for her.

"My princess why put yourself through such trauma...we are all hurt by her death but not to kill ourselves cause even grandma wouldn't want to see you or any of us in pains...please my child" Mr Greg said as he helps her up while she sits on the bed with her eyes all swollen from crying all day.

Lisa's eyes dimmed as she looked at her parents, Betty and her heartthrob with pains as she rubs her temples but felt better knowing she had a really great support system in her life.

"I'm hungry...please get me food!" She said as they all laughed at her sudden change of mood.

"Look who's talking....fish brain " Betty teased as she goes downstairs to bring some food.

"My princess please never pull such stunt again....you got us all worried with your actions" Mr Greg jolted.

"Dad....I'm sorry...I just couldn't help knowing how much I'm going to miss grandma" she replies with a weak smile just as Betty brings a bowl of spaghetti and meat balls.

Lisa had a tough day but it all ended with smiles as everyone showered her with love.

Her death affected the entire family especially Lisa but everyone apreciated the love she showed them all while she was alive.

The burial day was fixed while preparations were made for the occasion.
