Warplane Accompanying Flight

Chapter 41 - Warplane Accompanying Flight

While the Secretary of Defense was presenting Nelson's glorious history, the leader of the 22nd Regiment of the British Special Air Service arrived.

The British Special Air Service Regiment is the most elite British special forces, and the world's first regular special operations force. Most of the modern special tactics pioneers, the model of all modern special forces, to be able to complete the mission in a short period of time accurately and efficiently and known. It has the highest mission completion rate of any special forces currently in existence. Combat effectiveness is extremely high, is a world-renowned veteran special forces.

Special Air Service Regiment has about 900 members, with an average age of about 26 years. Command and training base is located in Hereford, 130 miles west of London, near Brecon Beacons Hill. Depending on mission requirements, today's Special Air Service Regiment is part of the British Army, under the command of the British Army Home Command, and includes three regiments with a total of one command company, six combat companies, and a counter-insurgency commando (crw) unit. Of these, the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment (22ndsas) was a fully regular unit, while the other two (21ststsas and 23rdrdsas) were both under local self-defense units.

The British Prime Minister looked at Gormand, the commander of the 22nd regiment, and asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure about rescuing the hostages on flight c993?"

Gormand said aloud, "As soon as the plane lands, I have full assurance of capturing Nelson."

The prime minister nodded, satisfied with this answer.

At that moment, Howard, the head of the Secret Intelligence Service, arrived in the conference room.

The former official name of the British Secret Intelligence Service is "Military Intelligence Division Six" (mi6), mainly responsible for the collection of British political, economic and military intelligence abroad, engaged in espionage intelligence and foreign counterintelligence activities. The Secret Intelligence Service was also known externally as the "Government Telecommunications Agency" or the "Office of the Permanent Secretary of the British Foreign Office". It focuses on areas considered to be of direct relevance to British national security, such as terrorism, weapons of mass destruction proliferation, political instability, criminal activity and drug trafficking. The Western intelligence community views the Secret Intelligence Service as a precursor to the British intelligence agencies.

The famous James Bond was a member of the Secret Intelligence Service. The Bond of film and television is, of course, a fictional character created by British author Ian Fleming. However, it is said that the prototype of 007 was a British spy during World War II.

The Secret Intelligence Service is a highly capable and secretive agency, and is known as one of the world's top four intelligence organizations, along with the CIA, the Soviet Union's State Security Committee (KGB) and Israel's Mossad. Some even say that MI6 was the mastermind of Princess Diana's car accident.

When Howard, the director of the Secret Intelligence Service, heard Gormand's words, he sat down and said, "I don't think rescuing the hijacked c993 is a good thing."

The prime minister and the defense minister and other senior officials looked at him and waited for him to give his reasons.

"Nelson is cunning and vicious, and will not fail to consider how to escape after the plane is hijacked. The Boeing 777-300er can add 181,280 liters of fuel and has a range of 14,600km. it is 8,132km from China Capital International Airport to Heathrow International Airport. Although theoretically the plane would still have plenty of fuel left to fly to other countries, this is however not possible. According to international aviation practice, a typical aircraft will only add 10% more fuel, according to the number of kilometers. In other words, the plane could only fly more than 800 kilometers. If so, why did he wait until he got over our country before sending out the hijacking signal, instead of informing us when he was over other countries to give us time to solve the problem?"

The finance minister speculated, "Maybe he just hijacked the plane."

"Impossible, I have contacted the air traffic control authorities of other countries and found that they had difficulties in contacting flight c993 hours earlier. According to the analysis, he should have hijacked the plane long ago."

"Then why did he have to fly to our country before contacting? Did he try to threaten us with not enough aviation fuel? To force to agree to release Witt?"

"According to the calculation of fuel, if we agree, he can only land in our country. According to his character, he would never want to be caught by us, and if he just wants to release Witt, he would choose to land the plane in another country at last. Therefore, I think he definitely does not simply want to release Witt only."

The prime minister stared at Howard and asked, "What do you think he's planning?"

Howard scanned a circle of everyone in the room and said, "I'm worried he's going to fly a plane to bomb Buckingham Palace or here."

"What?"

...

A group of people all shouted in surprise, they could not believe that Nelson wanted to do a British 9/11. but when they thought about Nelson's character, it seemed like he would not be too surprised to do such a thing.

The prime minister's own residence or the queen's residence would be bombed, a head of sweat. Asked, "So what do you suggest?"

"I suggest firing missiles and shooting the planes down."

"Impossible, I would never order missiles to be blown up on my own nationals. Is there any other way?" The prime minister would not order a missile launch to bring down a civilian flight based on a mere guess. Otherwise, not to mention international public opinion. Just domestic public opinion would not be able to bear it, and he would definitely resign and end his political life.

The defense minister and other senior officials actually agreed to blow up the plane, but they were not qualified to order it. Of course, even if they are qualified, they will never give such an order, that is to take responsibility.

The prime minister looked at the crowd and asked, "What other ways do you have to solve this?"

The finance minister looked at Gormand and asked, "Can't the Special Service Corps send an air rescue?"

Gormand shook his head and said, "We can't, we don't have the training for that and we don't have a dedicated aircraft."

"What about getting the Americans to help?"

"The Americans are not capable of air rescue either." Gormand dismissed the idea of an aerial rescue by the finance minister.

The defense minister said, "We can send planes and force flight c993 to change its course."

To this suggestion, the prime minister immediately agreed and ordered, "Send fighter jets immediately."

The defense minister called and contacted his men to have the fighter jets take off immediately.

Howard said, "I think we should still blow up flight c993 and definitely not let it fly over London."

The prime minister didn't say anything and sat down.

The foreign minister said, "Howard just guessed, why don't we release Witt. In exchange for the safety of the hostages?"

The Prime Minister had little mental pressure to release Witt, at best it would take little effort to release and then capture him.

The defense minister said, "I do not agree to release Witt, Witt is the leader of the IRA, hard-line radicals, and has a high prestige in the IRA, once he is released, he can go back and re-integrate and arm the IRA, then the ceasefire agreement and the hard-won peace made before will all go up in smoke. It would be extremely detrimental to national security."

Howard agreed with the defense minister and said, "Witt has a unique personality, and releasing him would be tantamount to releasing a more powerful demon."

The prime minister looked to the finance minister. The finance minister agreed to release Witt.

Gormand said, "Release Witt, as long as my men are in charge of escorting him. Once Nelson does not release the plane, we can capture him again."

The prime minister nodded and said, "Contact flight c993 and tell Nelson that I agreed to his request."

The defense minister took charge of contacting Nelson and said, "Nelson, we agree to your request to release Witt immediately."

"I want a small plane filled with fuel, sitting on the tarmac at the airport, and without any military personnel on the airport runway, or I'll let the plane crash as well."

"Okay, I can promise you all that."

"Give Witt a plane and let him go first."

At RAF Northolt in London, two of the latest Typhoon fighters were loaded with ammunition and shot up into the sky. The Typhoon is a twin-engine, delta-wing, duck layout, highly maneuverable, multi-purpose fourth-generation semi-fighter designed by Eurofighter (a four-nation partnership between Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain.) It was only installed in 2003 and is arguably Britain's most advanced fighter.

The two aircraft just took off and raced at top speed to the airspace where flight c993 was located.

The Boeing 777's maximum cruise speed is only Mach 0.89, while the Typhoon fighter can reach Mach 2. The fighter and the airliner are flying opposite each other, and it won't take long to get close.

On the airliner, Nelson took Cameron to the cockpit and waited for a moment to negotiate.

Cameron knew that Nelson was asking for Witt's release and did not care about it. He thought it was an extremely good deal to release one man in exchange for the survival of so many. He also had the leisure to remind Nelson not to forget to take out Liao Fei.

Nelson did not forget, just to wait for him to negotiate with the British government first. As soon as something was negotiated, he would kill Liao Fei.

Two Typhoon fighters whizzed past the cockpit money of the airliner, followed by a fighter and the airliner flying side by side. The fighter pilot gave Nelson a gesture to follow him. Nelson did not recognize the gesture, Turner did, and he passed the fighter pilot's meaning to Nelson, who told him to ignore the pilot.

The fighter pilot gestured several times and, seeing no response from the other side, contacted the airliner and said, "This is the RAF, please change course immediately to 015 and follow me to RAF Mildenhall."

Turner continued to ignore the pilot and pretended he didn't hear.

"This is the RAF, flight c993, please change course to 015 immediately and follow me to RAF Mildenhall."

...

"This is the RAF, please immediately ..."

Turner still ignored it, and as long as Nelson didn't speak anyway, he stayed out of the way.

The fighter flight captain was pissed off enough to pull the stick straight up and fly on top of the Boeing 777 flight and start lowering his altitude, trying to squeeze the flight down and follow the course he wanted.

Turner stared at the fighter slightly nervously, but had no intention of moving the joystick.

The fighter captain, with the Typhoon fighter only a dozen meters closer to the technology, pulled the stick and took off again. The pilot of the airliner did not duck, and the flight captain did not want to collide with the airliner to destroy it.

The fighter captain and wingman flew with him on either side, and the captain reported the c993's refusal to change course up to the higher-ups for a decision.

Typhoon fighter jets hung under the wings of the aim-120 medium-range air-to-air missiles and aim-9 rattlesnake missiles are not for fun, as long as the command, the fighter jets will launch missiles, the Boeing 777 aircraft will be blown into a big ball of fire.
