Endless Source of Worries

"Aren't you afraid that I'll get lost?" Fanny could understand Tony's anxiety. He helplessly replied, "Call me if you have any problems. If it's urgent, tell me the location first. The more details, the better!"

"Thank you!" Tony really was grateful to Fanny. He did not know why Fanny would help him, but he could feel the sincerity. After a moment of hesitation, he finally whispered, "I am very sorry about what happened before!"

Fanny, still invisible, had a shocked expression on his face. He had understood Tony's character rather well through their interaction, which made his apology shocking and surprising.

"Has he already left?" Tony thought that Fanny had already left, seeing as he hadn't responded to him. He whispered, "Rude brat, this is a Tony Stark apology."

"So should I record it and keep it in a safe?!" Fanny retorted, regaining his wits.

"…"

Tony's face turned sour again. Fortunately, Pepper's safety was more important to him right now. Otherwise, he would've argued with Fanny for hours.

"Well, then. I'll go look for her." Fanny returned their focus to the task at hand.

"Oh right, wait a moment." Tony suddenly remembered something. He rummaged and took a key card from his desk, "This is my key card. Take it with you."

Fanny took the key without saying anything. If Obadiah really took Pepper, he wouldn't just leave her loitering around in a corridor.

The two of them went their separate way. Fanny wandered aimlessly, looking for a vaguely large empty room. After a while, he suddenly thought of a problem.

Pepper wouldn't have made the call if she could ask for help from people around her. She was attacked within the Stark Building premise, so it could only be in Tony's office.

Pepper Potts and Obadiah being together would draw much-unwanted attention. Obadiah shouldn't be able to bring her outside the complex with his ability to cover up the secrets.

With these assumptions, Fanny returned to Tony's office and searched around the place. He finally heard some noise in a secluded storage cabinet and found Pepper Potts trapped within it, her face pale.

Fanny removed 'Demon Armor Incursio' and helped Pepper out of the cabinet.

"Hello, my name is Fanny Helsed, Tony's... friend!"

Fanny started to introduce himself, but he was unsure of his relation to Tony. He was hesitant to use the word "friend" because he wasn't sure if Tony thought of him as a friend.

"Are you the boy Tony mentioned?" Pepper asked weakly. Her eyes were still bloodshot as if Obadiah had tortured her.

"Tony mentioned me?"

Fanny was momentarily surprised, but he then remembered that Pepper had called him. Tony must have given her Fanny's phone number, but that didn't really clarify their relationship.

Pepper nodded weakly and then urged, "Hurry, tell Tony that Obadiah was the one who got him kidnapped. He had also built a secret project in Section 16 under the Ark reactor."

"It's okay. Tony already knows," Fanny comforted Pepper. He took out his phone to call Tony. He paused when he realized he did not know Tony's number; his number was obviously masked when he called Fanny last time.

"Do you know Tony's phone number?" Fortunately, Tony's assistant was next to him. Fanny handed the phone over and said, "He is now in the building, asking around about Obadiah. Call him first."

Pepper entered the number from memory and dialed, but nobody answered even after a while.

"This guy..." Fanny suddenly felt a bad omen in his heart.

"Can you stand up?" He asked Pepper, who was sitting on the ground.

Pepper nodded and struggled to stand up. She then asked, worry filling her voice, "Did something happen to Tony?"

"I think he might have met Obadiah," Fanny guessed, before sighing, "Where do you think he would be if he went to ask about Obadiah?"

"Come with me!" Pepper might be more familiar with the Stark Building than Tony. She immediately got moving after hearing Fanny's question, but then she stopped after realizing something, "Oh right, let's call the authorities first. I know a special agent named Coulson. I can call him."

Of course, Fanny was familiar with the name Phil Coulson. He was one of the busybodies in SHIELD and one of the few subordinates that Director Nick Fury trusted.

"There's no need to rush. It will be more troublesome if you call the agents over," Fanny did not want to get in involved with SHIELD, so he stopped Pepper from making the call. "Let's find Tony first. Don't worry; I have a way to protect you."

If it was just Obadiah, Fanny could handle ten of him at once even without the 'Demon Armor Incursio.'

Pepper was initially rather hesitant at Fanny's words, but seeing 'Incursio' and its stealth ability finally convinced her.

Pepper stumbled her way into a room that looked like a command center. Tony was sitting within it, his back against them.

"Tony!" Pepper shouted happily when she saw Tony, but he didn't respond.

Sensing that something had gone wrong, the two rushed to Tony. They found Tony sitting weakly on the chair, his eyes full of pain. He showed a hint of relief when he saw Pepper; his lips trembled as if trying to say something.

Most importantly, the ark reactor that kept his heart from getting torn apart was nowhere to be seen.

"You two really can't stop making me worry!" Fanny deactivated his stealth and looked at Tony. He sighed and asked Pepper nervously, "Does he have a backup at home?"

He was really afraid that his intervention would affect Tony. What should he do next if Tony didn't keep the old reactor?

Pepper panicked at Tony's appearance. Fanny's question gave her a thread to hold on to and regain some of her thoughts. "Yes, in the workshop! Let me drive!"

Fanny secretly let out a sigh of relief.

"No need, that's too slow. Help him up."

The Stark Building was in New York. Driving with Pepper back to Los Angeles would take far too long. Fortunately, he had already learned the teleportation spell. Otherwise, Iron Man might never see the light of day.

Pepper was confused by Fanny's words, but the circle of spinning orange sparks that he conjured changed her confusion into disbelief, especially when she saw the workshop on the other side of the circle.

"Quick, bring him in." Fanny came to Pepper's side after opening the portal, helping her to support Tony.

"Don't worry, this is just a portal. It won't hurt you," Fanny reassured Pepper after seeing the dazed look on her face.

Pepper woke up from her daze. The most important thing now was to save Tony.
