CHAPTER 4: AMELIA’S POV

Falling asleep was one of the best parts of the day, bed was my safe place , my heaven, I would snuggle into the duvet as happy as a cat in the sunlight , ready for my starry dreams. I'd fall asleep either slowly or fast , either way I enjoyed that feeling of relaxing , I would always have little sparkle of joy before falling asleep . I was that way from my childhood , bed was my sweet thing and it made me as happy as any other treat , falling asleep was as easy as letting dreams begin.

I have always felt a serenity upon sleeping . I love my bed and I love to dream ,I love the moments between wakefulness and sleep, the feeling of my brain shifting gears is  so sweet , I start to see it play its movies , always telling me things in visual puns and metaphor .sleep was kind of heaven for me , though I loved my waking days too .

" Ring ... ring ... ring ..... ''

the ringtone of my phone interrupted my sweet dreams and the name Aiden appeared on my screen And I started thinking that he might be going to tell me about the work

"Hello ''

How could I describe Aiden's voice , I would call it a smooth baritone,clear and calm , certainly intelligent and reasonable . Dry when humor demands it , and I can say that it was warm and gracious . Sexy , uh no ...Sexy was not appropriate , besides sexy was in his eyes more than his voice

" Yes Aiden , ''I said

" I think Jessy has already informed you about  a day off today. ????

" Noo she didn't tell me anything''I responded firmly

" Okay so there is no working today since I will not be around , I have to take time with my mother ''he said matter_of _factly

"Hello ... hello...'' he wasn't online

I stayed in my warm bed and I was covered with a very hot duvet in that time I heard a voice of someone knocking on my room and of course it was my mother because I know that she can't let me sleep, she can't even let me dream I went to open the door

" Youuuuu !!!!!  How did You come ???? Why didn't you inform me ???''

It was my best friend Isabelle, she came at home without telling me but I didn't make it a big deal because I know that she loves surprising me.

She was wearing a mini skirt and a black crop top and slipons , she looked great especially her freckle sparkled face with her long curly hair , and she had a bag full of popcorns ,..... I knew it she wanted to watch a movie with me that's what she liked and that's the reason she came home with a bag full of popcorns

" Amelia you know am always bored when am at home ''she said walking into my room And she then lay down on my bed

I raised an eyebrow at her " Okay I understand Isa ''

"Then why that face ???? , you don't want me to be with you ???

" Come on Isa , I always want to be with you baby girl ''I immediately hugged her from behind holding her tightly

" Then how is Aiden ????"

I lowered my hands and immediately looked at her straight in her eyes

" Isa how can you ask me about him ???? I never talk to him since he is arrogant, and I can't even have something to talk to him, we are not on the same level ''

" And you guys I saw the two of you together in his car , though I didn't notice where you were going and ...

" Isa we had a lot of work to do that night" I interrupted, "that's why we went to his house ,and  I never wanted to go in strangers house too, Isa you know I can't do that and you know that I can't hide anything from you ''

"Then Amelia, I eavesdropped Karla and Jessy and they were talking about you. Genuinely talking about you and Aiden ''

" What about me and Aiden ???

"Amelia I heard them saying that you had an affair with Aiden that night because they saw the two of you going to his house especially that night ''

"Isa do you believe what they said ???'' I asked her and my eyes were looking straight in hers

" of course no baby girl, I only believe what you say, anyway play the movie and we create our own happiness'' Isa said as she took off her clothes and she immediately put on my pajamas that fit her well as if they were exactly made for her, she put on

My flip flops too and we played the movie and started eating the popcorn too

Isa made the world a better place to live in for me , when others tried to hurt me emotionally or physically she was always there and always there for me ,she did everything to make sure that I'm safe , she didn't care who was trying to hurt me or harm me and she did everything without a reward or reservation

" Ring .... Ring... ring ....'' Isabella's phone started ringing and the name lovely mother appeared on her phone screen , it was her mother   Calling her

"Isa please come home"

Isa took off my clothes and I accompanied her and she went to see her mother

When I returned back home I heard some one crying  , it was my mother , she was sitting on a roofed platform along the outside of a house , level with the ground floor ( veranda) , her eyes were filled with tears , her tearstained face was puffy and swollen with grief . I came closer to her because i was worried too and tried to ask her what was going on in her life ,she tried to speak but she was chocked with tears

"Mom what's going on ????'' I asked but she couldn't answer me  because she was filled with tears

" my baby your daddy's condition is really becoming worst , and I don't know wether I can afford living without him ''

" Mom please calm down he will be okay ...

"Amelia one day your dad is fine and another day he is not fine ,  he needs a lot of money to be treated my girl , and I wonder where we will get that money'' she said crying in a low moan and a sob rose in her throat

My eyes were prickling with tears and I immediately felt a sting of melancholy and confusion , my voice thick with tears and the words were strangled in my throat , aching with sympathy

"Mom we should find the solutions''I said and my throat thickens

"How Amelia.... How can we do that ??? How can we solve our problems ''She said brokenly.

We had less income at home and we wanted money to treat my father , my father was really sick and he needed to go under surgery and all we wanted was money to treat my father but i didn't know where that money would come from

My sister was still young , she didn't have a job , all she needed was studying and finish high school and attend college so it means that me and mom were the only one who worked for  my family since dad was at the extent of sitting only and be served by us , I didn't have any idea of where I will get an extra job and get paid for a part time job , I didn't even know wether I will ask Aiden to work for two shifts so that I may get extra income , I didn't know wether I would even be able to work two shifts

Life was really becoming complicated, I wanted to attend university too , and I wanted to live a good life like others but I couldn't do that because I had a lot of problems and I always wondered whether I was carrying others people's problems too because they seemed to be bigger than they were

"Mom I will find a part time job and it will help us to save for money and I Really know that dad will be treated ''

I always told myself that god gives you struggles to taste your faith and I always said that you may not always have a comfortable life , and you will not be able to solve  the world's problems at once , but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have , because history has shown that courage can be contagious and hope can take on life of its own

" Daughter I hate to see you struggling because of us , I want you to have a good life and that's what I wanted , baby I wanted to give you a good life but I didn't and I'm sorry .... ''my mom was really sad and her eyes were shining with a threat of tears and tears brimmed her eyes and her face was set with in resigned sad lines , she was holding her eyes in such a way that kept the tears inside the lids and her cry turned to whimpers and her eyes were genuinely prickling with Tears , it was the first time I saw my mother in that way , and it was her first time she expressed her sadness to me because she always used to pretend that she was fine and she always used to show me that life was fine and nothing wrong was going on but it seemed that she couldn't take it anymore, she had to tell me everything because I wasn't  a baby anymore and she had to tell me everything because she needed my help

"Mom don't ever say that you didn't give me a good Life because you already gave me everything, you gave me all you had and I was satisfied mom , and you have always been a good mother and you have always been their for me either in good times and bad times

"Amelia I'm sorry and sorry but i promise to give you a good life in the future'' my mom apologized

"Mom right now I'm going to find a part time job , and I will be doing two jobs so our income will increase''

" Will you manage it Amelia ??? You also need to rest

"Mom I will do everything to help my family, and now am going to find it , I heard of a place in new York where they wanted to hire some people so I may try my best too and if it doesn't work I will ask Aiden to work some extra hours so that I may increase the income ''

" so good luck Amelia I will also find some part time job and we save your daddy

I went straight in NYC , it was really a big city I didn't have an idea of where I was going to , and I didn't know a lot of people in new York since it was a big city and it was only our second year in new York, I went to different cafeterias but they all told me that they Didn't want an employee.

There was sunshine and everything was bright in the city . It was bright and sunny day , the sun shone brilliantly in the  clear and blue sky , white fluffy clouds drifted across the clear blue sky and I was wearing a short dress since the day was very hot and I was wearing open shoes because I wouldn't manage wearing closed shoes since the whether was very hot , I had no make up on my skin because I wouldn't even get time to put it on and I didn't care about how I looked and I was like no body was looking at me.

I was really exhausted and I wanted to rest , I was thirsty too , I went to a restaurant which was near me just to take a break , I was really exhausted and I wanted to take a break and breathe .

It was Cuban restaurant which was located in New York City , it was really a wonderful place and it was an artful place too because of how it looked , the place was beautiful and the atmosphere was unbeatable and the restaurant had a great decor and ambiance and it was a perfect place to enjoy good food along alongside a dazzling sunset , the restaurant was really beautiful , and good as I was going to sit someone came to serve me

" hello Madam, you can look through our menu and order what you want ''

I really liked everyone who worked in that restaurant because they used to approach clients smiling and showing admiration

I looked through the menu and ordered something to eat

When I finished to eat they brought the receipt and I payed

"Hey '' I called the girl who served me because I wanted to ask her about the jobs in their restaurant

"I'm Amelia and I was looking for a part time job ''

" My name is Becky , so I will tell this to my boss , it's better when you leave your number and I will talk to you about it , maybe tomorrow ''

" Okay thx in advance Becky ,

Becky seemed to be a good person, I really didn't know a lot about her but she is really cool I saw it right straight in her eyes and I liked her at my first sight
